"This internet loading time is sooooo slooooow," I complained to no one in particular. I was sitting at my desk in the second floor classroom, and I was updating my web page. So much had happened I decided to tell everyone. Maybe not ALL the details, but I figured the people had a right to know. Finally the web server finished saving my changes. Woo, I thought, now I can grab a snack!"

I shut down my computer and headed down to the Cafeteria. On my way in, Irvy stormed past me.

"Hey, Irv-" I started, but he just brushed past me. Hmm, he looked pretty mad. Maybe he didn't feel like talking. I shrugged and made my over to the line. It was pretty long so I figured we had some hot dogs in. Oh, we definitely did. Zell looked ready to lunge over the counter. You'd think after almost chocking to death he'd not want to eat hot dogs again. You'd be wrong!

Well, while I waited I looked around the cafeteria. Those three girls who always walked together were giggling at a table. Xu was reading a book by herself in the corner. Quistis and Squall were sitting at another table, talking. Nothing outta the usual, aside from the fact that Squall was talking ^_^.

"Finally!" I said, bopping up to the counter. "I'd like a hot dog with some french fries and . . . and . . . a milkshake," I decided. The lunch lady sighed.

"All out."

"Of hot dogs?"

"Of everything."

"Everything? You mean there's nothing to eat?" I whimpered.

"Well, everything but this bunt cake," she said, pointing to a tray with a loaf-cake on it. She poked it with a fork, and the tongs bent on the end. "You want some? It's a little hard, but you should be okay."

"Um, er, uh, no thanks!" I said, waving my hands as I backed up. The lunch lady shrugged and I fled from the scary cake. Now I was on my own. I put my hands behind my head and started over to the dorms. Maybe I had a candy bar or something stashed in a drawer. My stomach made embarrassing growling noises as I walked past a few students.

I eventually got to the dorms without to many people noticing me and my very talkative tummy. I walked down till I got to the SeeD dorm rooms. Loud music was blaring from Zell's room. I could see light peering out of the bottom of Rinoa's door, so I assumed she was there. Funny, why isn't she eating with Squall, but Quistis is? Hmm, maybe they got in a fight or something. Squall and Quisty's rooms looked empty, and Irvy's light was on too. I got to my room, and slapped the lights on as I dashed for my nightstand. Keys, a pencil, some pennies, a shoelace, a few pictures . . . no food.

"Ooooo, there has to be SOME food in here," I whined, scrounging through my dresser. Thirty-four pairs of socks, and not even a measly stick of gum? Heinous! After feeling under my matress, I collapsed on my bed, defeated. After measuring the pros' and cons' of eating the bunt cake, I decided risking food poisoning was worth shutting my stomach up. I left my dorm and dragged myself down the hall.

After a few steps I heard feet scuffing on the ground. Zell was dragging his feet along and sighing.

"What's wrong Zell?" I asked, and he slumped against the wall.

"I went to get some of that bunt cake 'cause I'm so dang hungry and it's all GONE! God, I can't even eat stale loaf cake if I want to," he mumbled, returning to his dorm. I moaned.

"What the heck am I supposed to eat?!" I yelped. I heard voices coming down the hall. I looked up to see it was Squall and Quistis. The hall way dimly lit, but I could tell it was them, because Quistis was laughing. What are they up too? I wondered. Squall never tells jokes. I hit the automatic door handle and slid into my dorm room. Now, I know I shouldn't have done it, but something was up. I evesdropped.

I couldn't really hear them very well, but I could make out their shadows pretty good. Quistis was talking and moving her hands like she always does. Squall nodded a few times. Quistis took his hand and squeezed it, then she let go and he went to his room. What the heck?

I shrugged and turned around. It was none of my buisness, and what if I was jumping to conclusions? I shook my head and just decided to go to bed. If there was no food to eat, I might as well try to sleep it off. I turned around and realized I wasn't in my room ^_^:* I must have slipped into the wrong room when I hid from Squally and Quistis, I decided. I looked around and saw I was in Irvine's room.

Heeeeeey . . . maybe Irvy has some food, I thought.

"Irvine?" I asked. No answer. Well, his lights were on. Maybe he just stepped out for a sec. Wait a sec, I thought, his hat's here and his vest too.

"Hmm, he never takes his hat off," I thought. I shrugged and decided to leave because he would probably think I went in his room when he was gone often. I started to leave when I stepped on something and fell on my butt.

"Oooo, what was that?" I complained, rubbing my backside. A pencil. Oh great, a pencil. Like I couldn't see that! You're so dumb, I scolded myself as I picked it up. I went over to his desk and set it down. Then I noticed the pad of paper. "What's this?" I stopped myself from picking it up. I already spyed on someone today, I don't need to invade Irvy's privacy. As I set it down I saw my name was scribbled on it. No Selphie, you don't need to know why your name is on that paper! Just put it down! Oh yeah right, it would drive me crazy if I didn't read it.

I ignored my brain and read it.

"Dear whoever; When you read this I will be de-" I stopped. No way, he was kidding right? It was a joke, right? No, it couldn't be. He wouldn't joke about something like this. No one would. I couldn't believe it. I felt the color fade from my face as I stumbled out of the room. I had to show someone. Headmaster Cid - wasn't in charge anymore. Squall was. I ran over to his dorm and knocked hit his door handle. The door automatically slid open, and I dashed in. Squall was sitting on his bed and looked up when I came in. He looked surprised, then annoyed. I shoved the note at him. He read the first line and looked up at me.

"Is this a joke?"

"No," I said shakily. Squall stood up and walked out of his dorm. I followed him.

"Where are you going?" I asked, crying. Squall kept walking.

"I'm gonna stop the idiot," he said angrily, his voice upset.
