After the war with Ultimecia was over, things returned to normal with Squall and his friends. Rinoa moved into the Garden to be closer to Squall. The occasional fight between Seifer and Squall would occur, but usually Rinoa would come in and stop it. But one day as they were fighting Seifer ended up slashing Squall, injuring him very badly. Squall was knocked unconsious by the attack, as Rinoa came running she could see blood pouring from his body. He was losing blood fast, she couldn't carry him to the imfirmary on her own, but luckily Zell ran over seeing Squall and helped Rinoa take him to the imfirmary.

Squall spent the next few days in the imfirmary with Rinoa by his side, unconsious. Rinoa cried by his side everyday. After about one week she was by his side holding his hand as he slowly opened his eyes. She hugged him as she cried. He tried to stand up but the doctor wouldn't let him.

"Rinoa what happened"?

" Seifer attacked you leaving you unconcious. You have been here for about one week." He finaly stood up not caring what the doctor said, and he walked to the cafeteria where Seifer was. He walked up to Seifer who had his back turned to him. He pulled out his gun blade slashing the back of Seifers neck. No one could tell if he was dead or knocked out. They rushed him to the imfirmary. Everyone later found out he was still alive but could not move his legs.

After that day Squall wasnt seen for some time by too many people aside from Rinoa. About three days from the event, Rinoa finally made him leave his room with her on a date. They went to a very nice resturant where Squall didn't feel very comfortable. After the wonderful dinner Rinoa said to Squall that she had a surprise for him back at her dorm. Squall agreed to go to her dorm not knowing what the surprise was or even having a guess. On the walk back Rinoa and Squall held hands, and Rinoa rested her head on Squall's shoulder. They continued to walk that way untill they got back to the garden. As they walked to Rinoa's room several of their friends stared at them because of what Rinoa told them about Squall's surprise.

As they entered the room she insisted he turn out the lights and wait there. He did as he was told. Rinoa came out from the bathroom not too long after telling him that. As you would have guessed she was wearing nothing at all but it was dark and Squall was always a little dense, he asked if he could turn on the lights. She agreed to let him and as the lights went on Squall was speechless because he had been dreaming about this day for what seemed to him to be forever. As he took off his clothes he walked closer to Rinoa who was on the bed naked. As they had sex for the first time with each other they both felt as if they never wanted to leave.

The next morning Squall left Rinoa's room expecting to just be able to go to get breakfast but instead of being able to go anywhere there was a group of people asking him questions. As he tried to lie to them saying nothing happened Zell came and helped him out of the group and making their way to the cafeteria. Rinoa was still sleeping but when she woke up she dressed and went to the cafeteria and sat with Squall, Zell, Quistis, Irvine, and Selphie. Selphie. They all switched stares between Squall and Rinoa. Rinoa asked Squall what was going on.

"...They wanna know what happened last night." He replied. Rinoa looked at Squall trying to figure out if he would mind if she told them. He was looking at her the same exact why and she knew she should tell them. After a while with silence she leant in and everyone else did the same. She made them promise not to tell anyone else. They all promised and she tells them what they did with almost exact detail. Everyone stared at them not saying anything.

"...Damn!" Zell interjected eventually. As soon as he said that the whole of garden seemed to notice Squall and Rinoa. Rinoa and Squall hushed him but it was too late. People rushed over. It took nearly 10 minutes to finaly get away to their dorms and instead of Squall going to his dorm he went to Rinoa's with her.
