Okay, this isn't really a fan fic, but I wanted to voice my opinion on this song! I LOVE IT! Every line in this song fits Final Fantasy 7 so well, I decided to annoy you all by writing up this little thing. I hope you like it, but feel free to rate as low as you'd like! ^~

My Anology

Somewhere there's speaking - As in speaking of the Planet. Observe:

Aeris: "You could become one with the Planet,but you're stopping it with the strength of will. For the future? For us?"

Cloud "What are you saying? Do you understand?"

Aeris
"You're uneasy . . . But happy? Because I'm here? I'm sorry…I don't understand."

It's already coming in

'It' referring to Meteor. It's already coming in, but there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Oh and it's rising at the back of your mind

Aeris: "I won't let you do it! The future is not yours!"
Sephiroth: "Ha ha ha, we'll see"

Aeris forms a plan in the back of her mind to stop Sephiroth.

You never could get it, Unless you were fed it

This translates into "You never could get it unless someone gave it to you", which I think relates to Aeris. She couldn't save the Planet with out her White Materia, which she couldn't have if her mother didn't give it to her.

Now you're here and you don't know why

A Vincent one, referring to him wondering why he has to live with the monsters inside him.

But under skinned knees and the skid marks

When Cloud and Tifa were younger. It doesn't make sense yet, until you hook it with the next two lines.

Past the places where you used to learn

And one more . . .

You howl and listen, Listen and wait

This one's a two meaning line. It refers to Cloud and Tifa as kids, while Tifa waits for Cloud to return from SOLDIER or the rescue her in her time of need. And read the next line for the Cloud<->Aeris meaning.

For the echoes of angels who won't return

When Cloud sees Aeris at the end of the game and reaches up for her. He sees her (echo of the angels) but can't touch her (that won't return).

{AN - That is the saddest part in the game! It's the only time Cloud smiles, when he sees her hand reach down. La' SOB!}

Cloud is everything Aeris wants

But Cloud is everything Tifa needs. You have no idea how many fan fics I read where Tifa tries/does commit suicide because Cloud doesn't say he loves her. I'm sorry, but get over it Tifa!

That should be reveresed to "she is everything" to fit Cloud's feelings of Aeris. He proves this theory of mine when he says something along the lines of "She was so brave, but so weak."

He says all the right things, at exactly the right time

Come on, when doesn't Vincent or Red XIII say something that makes you go "Man, that's deep."

But he means nothing to you, and you don't know why

Dang! One line I can't think of one! Shooot, I was so sure everyline has one - Ah ha! Just came to me! Rufus doesn't care when his dad is murdered. Whew, thought I was gonna have to change the opening!

You're waiting for someone, to put you together

Vincent's trying to or waiting for someone to make him whole again.

You're waiting for someone to push you away

While at the same time he won't get close enough to anyone to let them.

There's always another wound to discover

As Cloud regains his memories, he finds out more about the hurt and death of his past.

There's always something more you wish he'd say

As in Tifa and Aeris' hopes . . . Cloud: "I love you".

Jenova watches as she controls Sephiroth.

It's only what you're asking for

After Sephiroth shakes the control Jenova has over him, he still goes insane and torments everyone. (If you're thinking, huh? when does he shake it? It's in the Northern Crater, after Jenova is killed for the last time, you fight him as the One Winged Angel and his final self.)

And you'll be just fine with all of your time

Vincent in the coffin, all the time he spent there but he still comes out and keeps the will to live yada yada mushy stuff.

It's only what you're waiting for

A couple of reasons. One, when Cloud faces off Sephiroth at the very end. Two, waiting for meteor. Three, Tifa waiting for Cloud to tell her he loves her. Four, oh come on there's so many ^^

Out of the island, into the highway

Out of Nibelheim, into Midgar. Out of the church, into the real world. Out of the coffin, into living again. Out of Rocket Town, into the sky. I believe you get the idea :)

Past the places where you might have turned

Love that line ^~ All through life there's choices, or splits in the road. You have to pick a path and live with the consequences. All the characters live with this; they all took wrong turns, but they live with t in the end. BTW, I got the split in the road/consequences quote from my Physics teacher, Mr. Featherstun ^^

You never did notice but you still hide away

Okay, hook this with the next line . . .

The anger of angels who won't return

Cloud, and the others, never noticed Aeris' plan to stop Sephiroth. But more, it fits with this: No one saw Sephiroth slip into his anger, and under manipulations, or Jenova. It was too late to stop him from being taken over by her, and the One Winged Angel ties it all together in the last line.

Geez, this is one of my top 3 favorite songs ever! My favorite is 'Black Baloon' by the Goo Goo Dolls through. Anyhow, I hope you got the big picture, I know it was pretty lame ^-^:* And yes, I stretched on some way to far, but I kept my promise! All lines fit FF7 in some way, no matter how remote! See ya!
