I purchased two games at the Fullerton Auction today and was
wondering how I
would get them sixty miles to my home in Murrieta. I ran into
Kevin from JRS
and he said he would transport them (a Judge Dredd and a Mappy
video) for
$110. I thought that wasn't so bad when you considered renting
a truck and
all, so I said OK.
From that point, Kevin took over and did an absolute
first rate job. The
education I got from watching him meticulously disassemble,
wrap and pack
the machines, along with a pinball for someone else, into
his truck was
worth the fee. When he arrived at my house, the Mappy no longer
worked. I
have little experience (yet) with videos or pinballs and I
was feeling
pretty stupid. Kevin popped open the back and checked everything
until he
found a loose connector and got the machine up for me.
He helped me set up the Judge Dredd, located a blown fuse and
walked me
through the basics of a flipper rebuild. He never asked for
any extra money
above the amount we agreed upon, though I am certain that
setup wasn't
really supposed to be included. I got the idea that he gets
pleasure from
helping others enjoy their purchases.
I really appreciated his help and his service and I hope that
anyone needing
shipping in the Southwest would give this guy a call.
My next post will run down the pinball prices from the auction.

Hi All-
Just want to pass on comments about our good experience with
KGF,
aka Jack Rabbit Shipping. We've done business with Kevin
in
the past, and just recently bought a machine from him- knowing
his
reputation for collector-quality games we figured we couldn't
go wrong.
The game was in excellent shape- just as he described! He
was more than
helpful with information and willing to send pictures as well.
He also delivered the game to us in person. Game was
meticulously
packaged- completely wrapped and protected very, very well.
He even
managed to deliver it a week early!
We had a great experience with Kevin, and wouldn't hesitate
to buy from
him again, or have a game shipped with him, in the future.
If you're interested in his shipping services, you can contact
him at:
<jackrabbitlaptop@qwest.net> He'll also be at the
Pin-A-Go-Go show in
Dixon, CA next month (19th-21st).
Thanks! :)

His packing of games is not just packing, but as was said earlier,
it's closer
to cocooning. I couldn't believe the wrap job then the tarping
that went over
it all. Hell, I don't even wrap my games that well! Also,
Kevin went out on a
limb for me in regards to going out of his 700 mile radius
and picking up my
game in Denver and bringing it to me. I'm glad it worked out
for him as well
with him now including that area in his delivery radius (with
the addition of
Paul of course). I also added an eleventh hour delivery
request to my
delivery that Kevin worked into his schedule. Picking up a
game in San Jose
for me before heading up north to my house, which is REALLY
out of the way!
Saved me a trip to S.J.! Way to go Kevin!
Anyway, I would not hesitate to use Kevin again if the situation
ever presents
itself. Now, If we only had someone as reliable and accessible
that could do
the cross country thing for us all, our worries would be over.
Kevin, next time you're welcome to say in the rec room if you'd
like instead
of driving all the way to Reno!

Wanted to post a very big public thank you to Kevin (Jack Rabbit

Kevin was able to pick up a game for me in San Francisco on
extremely
short notice and another pickup when there was a snag with
the original
arrangements and deliver them to me, though I'm outside of
his stated
target market. Very timely pickup and delivery as well.
I didn't have to worry about a thing - not only did Kevin pick
the games
up, he called to learn what condition the games were supposed
to be in
and verified that all was the sellers had described.
He carefully
packed the games for transport, clearly treating them as if
they were
his own. Actually, to say the games were packed carefully
is an
understatement - hermetically sealed is more like it. Before
he got here
Kevin joked that the games could float. Well, after
seeing them, I
don't doubt that. Short of a custom crate, I've never
seen better
packed, more protected games. Even the bottoms are padded/wrapped.
(Cocooned is probably a better word). Games were strapped
in to the
truck very well - I doubt they moved an inch the entire trip
- and were
gently lowered down on a lift gate.
Check out his web page - http://www.jackrabbitshipping.com

additional info and area coverage details.
JRS is regional, so it's not an option for everyone.
But if you've got

Kevin,
Wanted to thank you again for the terrific packing job.
Got the Elvira
set up yesterday and the Cinderella unpacked this evening.
I will have
a page up with a recommendation / pictures etc. soon.
Also wanted to offer a suggestion should you ever have to move
an early
wood rail like Cinderella again. I caused some backglass
damage while
unpacking the head - I had the box upside down and the glass
slipped
down, flaking off paint in the process. Turns out there
is normally a
piece of wood on the top of that style backbox which was apparently
missing, which allowed the glass to move. Next time,
if you think of
it, remember to check the heads and put a piece of foam rubber
or
something there to prevent movement, that might help.
I didn't realize that's how the glass went in, so I wouldn't
have caught
this one myself, since I wouldn't have known to look for the
wood on the
top. I would've also been really pissed off at myself
turning what
appeared to be a nice glass into a 5 (maybe) if not for the
fact I have
one of Herb Silver's repros !
Please don't take this as any criticism of your service or
packing. I
don't fault you at all. Just thought you might like
to keep this in
mind if you ever have to move an early woodrail again.
Thanks,
Jim

an
excellent job with packing the games and securing them in the truck
bed or
trailer bed. He is also very nice to my 4 year old daughter which
makes me
happy. I believe if he had an enclosed box truck or trailer, he
would save a
lot of time packing the games. Since he uses the open beds right
now he
spends a lot of time covering and strapping the games to keep them
from the
elements and from shifting. With an enclosed vehicle, everything
is upright.
Blanket and strap, very easy.
I am located in Denver and sell games to people all over the country.

read out for my daughter. Especiallly for a novice,
as this is my first
(of hopefully many) pins, it was extremely helpful.
He was also
extremely
careful in handling and strapping to the handtruck.
This was at 3:00 a.m.
Friday night/Sat. morrn. Fast delivery and a really
nice guy. Same price
as Eric Schweiss. You should use him if you need more
So. Cal. or wesy
coast speedy deliveries. Thanks again. By the
way, if you ever run
across
a Chicago Cubs Triple Play machine in good condition, I am
extremely
interested. Hard to find machine and for a huge Cubs
fan (like me)
nirvana.
Again, thanks for everything,
Steve

I appreciate the offer, but I'm not going to be making the
show, even though
I'd love to.. too much going on at home right now...
Just so you know, though, every time I look for a machine,
I try to find one
within your area as I'd rather give you the business than
Randy.. he's had
my machine for over a month and a half now and I'm getting
tired of
waiting..... according to his 3 week thing, it would
have been faster for
me to WAIT on buying the machine until May First instead of
April 4th!! I
don't think his shipping is really worth a damn at this point,
and he has
lost my business. If i *MUST* go national, I'll go with
Yellow Freight as
they are only about 25-50 bucks higher, but 5 day delivery..if
it's in the
700 mile radius, I'll hit you up for it... and if it happens
to go a little
beyond the 700 miles, I still might hit you up and offer you
more cash for
the job.. with all the raves I hear about your delivery service,
I prefer to
use you.. just thought you'd like to know..

Sure Kev. Folks, JRS is fast fast fast. JRS makes every effort
to meet
appointed times. Besides the great shipping they also do the
best
wrapping/packaging I personally have ever seen. All this at
a
more-than-fair price. Do not hesitate to use them if they
are in the
area.

Just last week I bought a Flintstones pin from kgf of Mesa,
AZ.
I cannot put into words how happy I am with Kevin and the
entire
sales process. I got an game in excellent shape for
a great price
and no hassles whatsoever. I can highly reccommend Kevin
to
any future buyer.
Not only did Kevin sell me a game, he also shipped it himself!
This was my first pin and I admit the thing that worried me
was
the shipping. Not to fear, Kevin wrapped the game like
it was
a baby, delivered it on time (he called on the phone when
he was an
hour away so I knew exactly when to expect him) and put it
in what is
now my gameroom.
He even made sure it was set up and running correctly (I don't
know
if this is a standard feature of his shipping biz, it was
HIS game he
was delivering-- ask him what the deal is on 3rd party shipping).
If you have a pin that needs moving, once again,
Kevin has my
highest reccommendation. You can check out the web page

To the group:
I recently (04-22-00) used Jack Rabbit Shipping to ship an
upright video
game as well as a pinball machine. He picked both up from
my home. He
called 2 hours before arriving at my home to let me know he
was on his way,
he arrived on time to get the machines, helped me carry them
out of my
house, and arrived with the machines at their destination
12 hours later!!
I would definatley recommend his services to anyone that needs
machines
shipped within his delivery area. If you want a very honest,
quick, and very
dependable person to do this, Kevin is the person you want
to get in touch
with. Jack Rabbit Shipping is A+++ in my book.
