War Cries



Howl: Level 1
Requirements= None
"Frighten nearby monsters". Howling will cause monsters to step back and pause their attack as a green 'rain' drizzles down on them. They stay halted until the rain ceases and then rather than all resuming their attack, they will approach in one's or two's due to their frightened state.

Find Health Potion: Level 1
Requirements= None
"Find health potion". As the name suggests this skill will enable the Barbarian to extract a superior health potion from a corpse which may or may not ordinarily surrender one. This skill is not passive so you need to select it then click on a monster to extract the heart. At Slvl one the Barbarian will have a 15% chance of finding a potion and the percentage will increase as more points are added. Even though health potions are now sold we are assured by Blizzard that Find Potion is still of much use as potions found with this skill will be superior to those bought.

Taunt: Level 6
Requirements= Howl {1}
"Taunt target creature to attack you relentlessly". Taunt the monsters within a certain range to provoke them into attacking you and not fleeing. Monsters such as Fallen would be prime candidates for this as they flee as soon as one of their kind is killed. Perhaps use this on their Shaman also to quickly dispose of him. In testing we only came across Fallen who retreated when one of their kind was killed, there were no other situations where there was a need to force monsters to advance. Hopefully, deeper in to Act III and the Finale there will be different, more deadly monsters, that you have to chase down and you'll need to employ Taunt to help combat them attacking from afar with projectiles and then fleeing when you close in. Taunt will not work in PvP mode.

Shout: Level 6
Requirements= Howl {1}
"Alert your party of impending danger, raising your and their defense ratings". This cry will increase the Barbarian's and his friendly party member's AC temporarily. By how much and for how long is probably dependant on the level of this skill.

Find Item: Level 12
Requirements= Find Health Potion {1}
"Target corpses to find hidden treasures". Operates like Find Heart but will harvest an item of some sort from a corpse. Specifics aren't known at this point. But probably skill level, character level, game level and difficulty will bear relation to the quality of the items found.

Battlecry: Level 14
Requirements= Howl {1} Taunt {6}
"Fearsome cry reduces enemy effectiveness". This one frightens nearby monster reducing their AC and damage.

Battle Orders: Level 24
Requirements= Howl {1} Shout {6}
"Improve party members' life, mana and stamina". Nothing official released from Blizzard on this one. Only the name is known for this one.

Grim Ward: Level 24
Requirements= Find Health Potion {1} Find Item {12} "Target a corpse to create frightening totems". Needs a corpse to produce a small cross-shaped totem adored with a flag. Not just a garden ornament though, a totem of terror. On seeing the totems the incoming monsters will turn and flee moving back several paces, and then halt, with green tear drops suspended over the heads of those affected. The monsters will try to approach once the fear has worn off but will be horror-struck by the ward totems again. Surrounding yourself and your party with totems will offer you a radius of protection against melee attacks only but not projectile. Foe that favour ranged attacks will still be able to attack with their projectiles, although they won't be able to come within the radius of the totem. Duration and radius will increase with a higher skill level.

Warcry: Level 30
Requirements= Howl {1} Taunt {6} Shout {6} Battlecry {18} Battle Orders {24}
"Injure and stun all nearby enemies". Within the radius of this cry all monsters will be partially injured and momentarily stunned. The radius, duration and damage increases as more points are added.

Battle Commands: Level 30
Requirements= Howl {1} Shout {6} Battle Orders {24}
"Increase party members' skill levels". A free skill shrine, in that it raises the skill level of all skills that have points applied to them of the Barbarian and friendly party members for a duration. The duration of the altered skill levels will increase with higher skills.
