Offensive Auras



Might: Level 1
Requirements= None
"When active increases damage done by you and your party". This aura adds damage to melee attacks of the Paladin and those set to friendly status. As an example, a Paladin with a basic weapon, taking Attack Damage to 8-19, can activate a level 3 Might, boosting his damage potential to a healthier 12-27. As a character level 1 skill, this is suitable for lower level monsters. {Updated: 6 April}

Holy Fire: Level 6

"When active causes pulses of fire to damage nearby enemies". As you can see from the screenshot this erects a small circle of golden spikes radiating around the Paladin's feet. Any monsters within the radius of the aura will suffer fire damage every 3 seconds by way of small balls of fire igniting on their bodies. Sometimes of use when needing to 'soften up' a large pack but depending on the strength of foe it may be better to have a melee/defensive enhancing aura active. If the Paladin is positioned one side of a wall or grate with his target the other side, the Aura will not affect the foe, regardless if it is technically within the radius of the Aura. Range and Fire Damage increase with more points. This is one of three known auras that do not transfer to friendly party members, the other two being Holy Freeze and Shock. {Updated: 6 April}

Thorns: Level 6
Requirements= None
"Aura retaliates against enemies that damage you causing them to take of that damage". It doesn't reduce the amount of damage you take, rather it uses the foe's own-inflicted melee damage, reflecting a % back to them. This is most useful when fighting a melee pack of foe. Whilst your Paladin is busy with one, the others attack him, themselves suffering a % of the damage they inflict on him. {Updated: 6 April}

Blessed Aim: Level 12
Requirements= Might {1}
"Aura increases your attack rating". An aura that improves the Paladin's and friendly player's % chance to hit a foe. Attack rating measures the chance of the Paladin successfully hitting his foe in melee combat. It's important that this percentage is as high as possible and although a higher dexterity will increase this, the Paladin can further enhance his chances with Blessed Aim. A Paladin with 46 Dexterity, for example, will have an Attack Rating of 156 {average chance to hit a monster, 65%}, activate a level 2 Blessed Aim and that increases to 296 Attack Rating {78% chance to hit a monsters}. {Updated: 6 April}

Holy Freeze: Level 18

"Aura freezes neaby monsters". As Holy Fire is a prerequisite to this skill it will act in much the same way. Will chill, by a percentage, the opponent and reduce their walk/run movement and swing speed. Even though the hover description of the skill reads "freezes" it in fact chills and slows only. {Updated: 20 Feb}

Holy Shock: Level 24

Again, similar to Holy Fire but sending pulses of lighting through adjacent monsters, inflicting lighting damage.

"Aura repells and damages undead". The animation for this has now changed. As you can see from the animation link it was previously a blue circle of energy circling the Paladin but it has since changed to a more subtle graphic of sparkling white lights. These will transfer to undead who come within range, repelling and causing damage. {Updated: 10 Feb}

"Aura boosts attack". Increases the Paladin's attack speed along with anyone else in his party within a certain radius (you will see an indicator if you are being affected). You will keep getting faster and faster with each level of the skill as well as getting a larger party radius. However, the increase in speed will scale down such that going from level 8 to 9 will have a very, very small effect. Slvl 1 will add 14 to attack speed and + 40 to offensive rating.
