WWF Judgement Day 2000
May 21, 2000
Welcome to WWF JUDGEMENT DAY ON PAY PER VIEW!!
Backstage
-A black limo arrived in the arena and opened up to reveal...Al
Snow and Billy Gunn!! What a weird way to start off a PPV. Snow was
telling Gunn that they needed to listen to Head and that was the way
to get aHEAD.
Backstage
-Michael Cole interviewed Vince McMahon. Vince told everyone that
he would be at ringside to make sure nothing went wrong with the Main
Event tonight.
Interview
-Kaientai hit the ring and announced that in their corner would be
none other than the Assassins!!! Vader and the Big Show came down to
ringside. Obviously, Japanese Yen means something to them!
Interview
-Kurt Angle was interviewed by Kevin Kelley and Angle seemed
genuinely frightened by the presence at ringside of the Assassins.
Kurt Angle beat MEN'S Teioh via the Olympic Slam **
-Our opening bout here tonight saw Angle continuing his feud with
Kaientai as he got MEN'S Teioh in the ring. Vader and Wight stood at
ringside but did NOT do a thing. Angle nailed Teioh with the Olympic
Slam and got the pin.
Post-Match
-Vader and Wight TURNED ON Kaientai! The three Japanese wrestlers
were dropped by the Assassins who left with Angle!
Backstage
-Triple H arrived in his limo to the building alongside the
Franchise. Douglas said that tonight was gonna be a franchise night.
Don Frye and Tank Abbott beat X-Pac and Jesse James via a full nelson
*1/2
-The Alliance beat one of the top contenders to the belts but not
without help from Benoit. Chris attacked X-Pac at ringside right
before Tank locked in the full nelson on the Road Dogg. With no help
from his partner, the Road Dogg had to submit.
Interview
-No Chance kicked up over the P.A. system as out walked Vincent K.
McMahon. Vince hyped up the Main Event match and went so far as to
say there would be a special surprise tonight in that match. What
could it be?
Backstage
-Dean Malenko was assaulted by several WWF Light Heavyweights in
his locker room.
Jeff Hardy beat Dean Malenko via the Senton Bomb ***3/4
-Jeff looked great out there against the Iceman. Malenko hit his
Texas Cloverleaf early but that wasn't enough against the former tag
team champion. Hardy took advantage of Malenko being weak and was
able to hit his Senton Bomb to get the pinfall.
Backstage
-The Rock arrived in the building to a huge ovation from the fans.
He was being watched from behind by Christopher Daniels, who did not
attack him.
Backstage
-Michael Cole was attempting to interview Ken Shamrock but the
World's Most Dangerous Man was busy getting warmed up for his match
with Gracie.
Shane Douglas beat Chris Jericho via the Pittsburgh Plunge **1/4
-The Franchise started things off very well for his partnership
with HHH as he defeated Y2J in the middle of the ring with the
Pittsburgh Plunge finisher.
Post-Match
-Douglas stomped away on Jericho until Shawn Michaels came in and
made the save for his friend.
Backstage
-The Undertaker was seen talking to several people who were off
camera. He told them to be ready if he needed them tonight.
Interview
-Michael Cole conducted an interview with Royce Gracie about his
upcoming match. Gracie told everyone that this wasn't about the UFC
title..it was about respect that he wanted to earn from Kenny.
Royce Gracie beat Ken Shamrock via a Rear Naked Choke ****1/4
-We went to the Octagon for this match. Both men used several
different types of submission holds to wear their opponent down AND go
for the win. Gracie looked really good in the Octagon but this was
Shamrock's home. Shamrock locked in the Ankle Lock Submission but
Gracie was able to break it. Gracie got behind Shamrock and locked
in his rear naked choke hold. Referee James Beard came over and
dropped Shamrock's hand three times and declared a knockout win for
the Jiu Jitsu master!
Interview
-The sound of a wolf howling came over the P.A. system. The crowd
looked around wondering what was going on when out walked...DIESEL!!!
He was wearing red and black clothes as he walked to the ring with a
huge smile on his face. He stepped over the top rope and into the
ring. He declared that he was no longer Big Daddy Cool: he was BIG
SEXY KEVIN NASH!! He told the world that he came out here to watch
the IC Title bout between HBK and HHH and gave a shout out to the
Heart Break Kid.
Shawn Michaels beat Hunter Hearst Helmsley via the Superkick **1/4
-HBK high fived his big buddy as he walked to the ring and the
match between himself and HHH was on. A great technical bout saw
Nash leave the ringside area and leave HBK on his own. Shane Douglas
came out from the back but he was stopped by Jericho, who tossed
Douglas off the stage and onto the rampway!! HBK started the band
wagon and landed some Sweet Chin Music on the chin of HHH and got
the pin to keep his IC Title belt.
Backstage
-Nash was seen talking to Vince McMahon?! Vince tossed the
cameraman out before anything more was seen.
The Impact Players beat Edge and Christian via a fisherman's suplex
*3/4
-This match was dominated by the Impact Players and was nearly over
before it started. The Players have been dominant World Tag Team
Champions thus far and I don't see them losing the belts anytime soon.
Credible pinned Edge with a fisherman's suplex.
Post-Match
-Christian told Edge he thought it was time they split as a team
and pursued singles careers. Edge was stunned!
Backstage
-Michael Cole conducted an interview backstage with the Rock. The
Rock told everyone that there was nothing more to say. Tonight, the
People's Champ was gonna get the gold and there was nothing that the
Dead Man could do about it.
Interview
-Vince McMahon came down to ringside and took a seat flanked by the
man he called his NEW bodyguard. None other than the BIG BOSS MAN!!
The Rock defeated the Undertaker by stuffing him in a casket **1/2
-WHAT AN AMAZING FINISH TO JUDGEMENT DAY!!!! About 10 minutes into
the match, out from the back walks Kevin Nash and.....BRET HART!!!
Big Sexy and the Hitman were stopped by Vince, who was yelling at
them and saying they didn't have WWF contracts. Bret tossed a pair of
brass knuckles inside the ring and the Rock used them on the
Undertaker. Vince was moved aside by Big Sexy and the two proceded
to attack the Man from the Darkside. This led to a Rock Bottom by the
Rock and the Rock rolled the Undertaker into the People's Casket and
shut the lid, winning the WWF World Heavyweight Title.
Post-Match
-As the Rock celebrated with Bret and Nash, Vince rolled in the
ring getting up in the face of Bret alongside his bodyguard the
Big Boss Man. Bret rared back to hit Vince but stopped and SHOOK
VINCE'S HAND!! The New Corporation proceeded to take chairs to the
Casket until the arrival of the Undertaker's reinforcements! From
the back came Christopher Daniels, Brian Lee and Bradshaw to save the
UT!!! Judgement Day came to a close with a staredown between Daniels,
Lee and Bradshaw outside the ring with the casket and Hart, Rock, Boss
Man, Vince and Nash inside the ring with the WWF World Heavyweight
Title!
