>> INTERVIEW: TNM BASEMENT INTERVIEW WITH RYAN SOLBERG (May '99) In this interview RS stands for Ryan Solberg bAz stands for me!! bAz: How did you actually first find out about professional wrestling, and who were your favourite wrestlers? RS: It was about 16 years ago(I was 9), I first seen Hogan and I think it was Orndoff in a cage. From that day until I didn't miss a WWF TV show until I was about 16. My Favorite wrestlers then was Roddy Piper(WWF) and Owen Hart(from Stampede). I remember the days that on Saturdays we would get wrestling starting at 11pm and finishing at 4am. Those were the great days. The Harts have been my favorites for a long time now(most likely because I was born in Calgary, My father acturely used to fix the office machines at the Harts Home and has many stories about the Hart Boys and the Dungeon). It's a Tragedy that we lost Owen, and now basicly Bret too, Because he said he retired now. I have had countless meeting with Wrestlers, One I had was with my most hated wrestler now(After Meeting him) is Shawn Michaels, his conceited image in the ring is his true image, I understand why those 9 guys beat him up. bAz: What in your opinion is the best federation in the world? RS: The best Federation in my veiw(Besides my SWA E-Fed) is New Japan Pro-Wrestling. It's more wrestling and less of a soap opera. Guys like Keiji Muto(Great Muta) and Masa Chono are the best skilled wrestlers in the world. I was lucky enough to see New Japan Pro- Wrestling Live. You see in I'm an ESL Teacher and i worked in Japan for about a year, I got to see New Japan Front row. I think I was the only Gaijin(Foreigner) in the whole arena so many wrestlers talk to me. I got to meet Chono, Liger, Mutou, nWo Sting and many more that night. For American Wrestling its a toss up for me because I like Nash and I like DX and Kane. But WWF is more catching, you always want more and to know what will happen? bAz: Now onto TNM matters...How did you first find out about TNM? RS: About 2 1/2 years ago when I joined an E-Fed called USWF(I believe) then I went and downloaded TNM and started the SWA. bAz: What version did you download? RS: I first downloaded 6.2 bAz: What version did you first register? RS: I registered within a week after downloading it. bAz: What made TNM different from any wrestling simulators that you'd seen? RS: It was the first and only one I tried. bAz: What do you hope to see in TNM7 Gold? RS: It's not happening. Oliver has quit doing TNM so I'm taking over with the making TNM7 better. I took almost ever thing that TNM Gold was supposed to do and put it in my Federation Trackor. I am making plans for Federation Trackor V2.5 that will have a financial Menu that will tie in with my next Arena plugin. bAz: What do you think of Zeus 3? RS: No idea what it is!!!! bAz: What do you think of the FCA Cubed series of plugins? RS: Frankly I don't use it much because I believe that it doesn't have enough with it. I like to make my plugins with as much detailed as possible. For Example my Battleground Zero plugin has so much to it. It is a WW3 Battle Royal match with more details like you can choose Tag Teams Battle Royal, and/or have weapons. You will see saves or double team throw outs. bAz: What do you think of the Interview Integrator? RS: It's a useful plugin but easy to make(No offense to Oliver). I was using my own until I got the reg code in exchange for my partner points with Oliver. bAz: What do you think is the best TNM7 plugin? RS: Frankly, I really do believe the best plugin is my Federation Trackor. It makes running a Efed 10x easier. Even if I didn't make it I would still say the same. bAz: What would you like to see as the next TNM7 match plugin? RS: I personally like specialty matches thats why my nickname is Xtremist. I started today working on a match plugin called Caged Fury. It is a Battle Royal in a Cage. To Elimanate a wrestler you must throw him out a door(Theres four, one in each corner). bAz: Finally we come to the TNM Sites section..What TNM sites do you frequent most often? RS: The TNM7 site of course. But theirs many great sites out their. bAz: What do you think of the sites that post exports of wrestlers who haven't even wrestled? e.g. Beaver Cleavage, Titan RS: I think its stupid. Why someone would want Bart Simpson Vs. Hank Hill is beyond me. bAz: What do you think of the TNM Basement site and newsletter? RS: I have been receiving it for a long time and was pleased when they wanted an interview with me. bAz: And the last question for today Ryan...What do you hope to see in the future for TNM and you? RS: I want to be the best plugin maker around and have the best hardcore federation around. Someone said to me that I am taking over for Mike S as the TNM Plugin God but I don't want to be God, I just want to be the TNM Plugin Xtremist. I want to proudly take TNM7 where Oliver left off and improve it with more useful plugins or campanion programs. I have one more message, I had to close down the SWA for 2 months due to family problems but now I'm reopening but now most of my members didn't wait. I am looking for more members to Join the SWA, SWA members get advanced and Unreleased plugins so please come and join. Barry, Thanks alot for the interview and sorry if I rambled on to much.
