The Screen is special because it is wide screen format. But the screen
is not be backlit it will be similar to what the Game Boy Color's Screen.
Some of the reasons that Nintendo did not put a back light screen in
because of it's Battery Life. Putting a light would decrease the amount
of hours you get out of the batteries and you would need more batteries
like the Atari Lynx and Game Gear. Plus the cost would increse because
it costs more to manufacture and then more expensive to buy. And finally
because of Durability, with a light it could burn out and cause problems
with the system. The game Boy Advanced has a diffrent button set up then
older Game Boys. The GBA will have an 8-Way Digital Pad, two action buttons
(A and B), two shoulder buttons (L and R), and a Start and Selects Button,
In total it will have a D pad and six buttons! When The Game Boy Advance
came out in Japan, People in Japan loved it! It sold very well. When
released in Japan in started with 25 games! Develpers are comparing
the Game Boy Advanced capabilities as equal to the Super Nintendo.
Since it's similar to the Super NES, it may be capable of 3-D graphics like
in the Original Star Fox for Super NES which was in a more simple 3-D
format. But already by THPS2, the GBA easily can beat the Super NES in
graphics. The sound system is capable of Sterio or Dolby Surround Sound
effects using headphones. The GBA will be able to play any game from
Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advanced games. But they will
be bordered because GBA screen will have more pixels. When the GBA
launched June 11, 2001 it launch with 12+ games:

                  *Super Mario Advance
                  *F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
                  *Army Men Advance
                  *Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
                  *Dodge Ball Advance
                  *Fire Pro Wrestling
                  *Top Gear GT Championship
                  *Tweety and the Magic Jewel
                  *Fortress
                  *Iridion 3-D
                  *Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure
                  *ChuChu Rocket
*Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2
                  *Rayman

The GBA will still use the cartridge format. The GBA will also work with the new
and upcoming Nintendo GameCube . You will be able to play a game and get
in-game stats or a map on the GBA screen or visa versa. Well that's about it,
The Game Boy Advanced will also use the link cable but allows everyone to play
of one game pak. Just give about 20 sec. for each person to download the game
and then you can play with up to four others! I will continue to update this area
til' the day the GBAsystem comes out and then on. Check back often at The Nintendo
Zone for updats. Any questions, comments contact me through Here>>> For further information sign up for the improved Nintendo Zone Newsletter Here>>>
