Driver for Game Boy Color

The smash PC and Playstation hit comes to the little Game Boy Color in, Driver. And the game is much better then you'd assume.
Just like in the original you play an undercover cop who's current assignment is a Mob Driver. You do whatever the mob tells you to do, Junk a car, "whack" someone, or any number of other illegal things. The game is divided into missions, where you are briefed before hand on what you should do. Sometimes, you may get different orders half way through the mission, and be forced to make a change of plans. When going through the city on a mission you'll have a Damage Meter, Felony Meter, and your time. The higher your Felony Meter the more the cops will come after you. And if you run your damage up all the way, you will automatically loose. Driver's traffic patterns are very realistic, cars will actually obey the lights. though you can't see them. There are a few other modes other than then the Missions Mode. There's a free Drive mode, a Mode with games to play, and other stuff. There are several cars to choose from, each with its own special characteristics. They range from small cab and cop cars to hug limos. Driver for GBC features around 20+ missions. From the bright alleys of Miami, to the hot night life of L.A., and to the big New York City.  Each of the three cities is quite large, and traveling from one side to the other can take quite a while. Driver uses a password screen to access where you were at in the game, they are easy 4 picture combinations.
Graphically, Driver comes out alright. The transition from behind angle 3-D worlds to an overhead 2-D flat kind of world was very good.. I even find that this new style of Driver, the overhead angle, is even better then the 3-D versions for the PC and PSX, in some ways. The Overhead angle allows for a better view and makes telling distance between two or more things a lot easier. The sound in Driver is very good. Especially the effects, all the screeches, crashes, and explosions sound excellent!
Driver is one fun, and above average Game Boy Color game overall. It even outshines many new GBA games because of it's excellent gameplay. Don't be afraid to go back and check this game out!
