Goomba Village:
#1: On a ledge near the hammer.
#2: Stomp the area where Mario fell at.
#3: Stop the area where the Verandah fell.
#4: Find Goombaria's Doll and return it to her.

Goomba Road:
#5: Stomp the ground near Goomba King's Fortress.
#6: Hammer the tree next to Goomba King's Fortress.

Toad Town:
#7: Stop on the grass in front of the Dojo.
#8: Hammer the tree near Merlon's House.
#9: There is a star piece located in the tunnel system.
#10: Return Russ T's stolen dictionary to him.
#11: Using Sushie, swim to a backyard to find a Star Piece.
#12: Return the stolen Mailbag.
#13: Stop the entrance to the forest.
#14: A piece is near the docks.
#15: Stomp the ground near the train tracks.
#16 - 18: Buy these from Rip Cheato in the pipes.

Shooting Star Summit:
#19: Walk behind the main summit to find one.
#20: Stomp the first step leading up to the summit.
#21: Stomp the ground to the right of the bridge.
#22: Stomp outside of Merle's house.

Pleasant Path:
#23: Kick Kooper to a piece on an island.
#24: Smack a tree outside of Koopa Bros. Fortress.
#25: Stomp between three candy canes.
#26: Stomp the ground after the long bridge.

Koopa Village:
#27: Stomp the ground in front of the shop.
#28: Look for a peice on a block.

Mt. Rugged:
#29: On a ledge near Buzzar.
#30: Use Parakarry to reach the ledge.
#31:  Stomp nar one of the save points.

Dry Dry Desert:
#32: Stomp in the middle of the desert.
#33: Give Kolorodo the artifact to get his peice.

Dry Dry Outpost:
#34: On the top of a house.

Dry Dry Ruins:
#35: Check all the sand rooms for one.

Boo's Mansion:
#36: Look for a peice in the room where mario finds the boots.
#37: the room with the portrait hanging it it.
#38: Look under the rugg on the second floor.
#39: Look under the rug of the first floor.
#40: Stomp downstairs near the shop.

Gusty Gulch:
#41: Look behind a rock.
#42: once you through the first gate.

Tubba Blubb's Castle:
#43: On the table in the dining room.
#44: the other peice can be found on a shelf.

Shy Guy's Toy Box:
#45: Blue Station, in front of Toad.
#46: Red Station, in front of Toad.
#47: Green Station, in front of Toad.
#48: Pink Station, in front of Toad.
#49: Look on the roof near the giant doll house.
#50: A peice is hidden behind a giant green block.
#51: Found in dead end to the right of green station.

Jade Jungle:
#52: Stop the ground near the 3 Plants.
#53: Use Sushie to swim to a small island.
#54: Use Sushie to find underwater peices.
#55: Stomp the ground on the beach.

Yoshi's Village:
#56: Stomp the ground in front of the statue.

Mt. Lava Lava:
#57: Look around in the room with the super block.
#58: Check the stairs leading to the Pirana Boss.

Flower Fields:
#59: On a cliff just above the Bubble Berry Tree.
#60: Stomp the ground by Petunia.
#61: Search near the Blue Tree.
#62: Search for a peice near the sun's tower.
#63: Look near the Super Block.
#64: Search near the yellow tree.

Shiver City:
#65: Stomp the ground near the mayor's office.

Shiver Snowfield:
#67: Stomp in front of the row of snowmen.

Shiver Moutain:
#68: Walk outside through a diffrent entrance.
#69:  Stomp near the small statue.
#70: Stomp near the large statue.

All the other Star Peices:
#71 - 83: Deliver all the letters to there rightful owners.
#84 - 97: Do all of Koopa Koot's errands and he'll reward you with star peices in 3's.
#98 - 160: Chuck Quizmo's Quizes will reward you with a large amount of Star Peices.
