The smash
hit PC game, Star Craft and Star Craft:
Brood
War, come to the Nintendo 64. After half
a dozen
release date changes the game Star Craft
64 will
finally be hitting the shelves!
THE
STORY...
It seems
like a common plot for any outer space
game or
movie. The universe just isn't big enough
for the
three of them. So war brakes out, each
species
trying to rule the universe. but as the
game goes
on the story plot gets deeper and
deeper...
Each species has it's own story line.
THE SPECIES...
This is
the human species of the three. There
from earth
and they get into this war when Earth
is threatened
to be invaded by Zerg. So they go
on the
offense when they realize how much trouble
these
Zerg creatures are. The Terran have some of
the most
effective damage wise units out of the
species.
There technology is pretty modern, well
most of
it aside from the cloaking.
The Zerg
are like the bullies of the Universe,
they go
from planet to planet trying to take over
it. The
Zerg Creatures are all run by an all powe-
-rful
overmind! The Zerg's effectiveness to damage
and kill
the enemies comes not from there power
but from
there ability to mass produce thousands
of Zerg
creatures.
The protoss
are the most mysterious of the three
species.
There power is incredible they are extr-
-emely
strong because they have a force field
which
has to be destroyed before you can harm
there
body. There technology far outdates any
in the
universe the are by far the most advanced
and powerful
species of the three.
Two Player Mode
One of
the best features about the PC version is
the Multi-Player
mode on BATTLE.NET. But in the
Nintendo
64 version you can only play 2 vs 2
which
kind of eliminates the whole idea of the
element
of surprise. Most people who have never
played
Star Craft tell me "Oh no one will look
at there
friends screen" Us who have played
Star Craft
for the PC no better, people just
cant resist
taking a peak. I and many other
people
agree that this game should have been
held off
until the release of the new Nintendo
gameCube
so people could play over the internet.
One thing
missed is the breath taking cinema
scenes
from the PC version.
The game
has almost everything that the PC version
has, and
to make up for the things it doesn't have
Nintendo
has added some new features. Those new
features
include and encyclopedia, which gives you
all sorts
of info about a species units and
structures.
