My New Friends
All of which were
completed over the Thanksgiving Holiday
Punisher is one of the easiest and quickest conversions to do!
My son wanted him all black, which I thought would be boring,
so I went with
dark blue like the comics. He's 54 points with a starting movement
of 6 and running shot,
attack of 10, defense of 14 and 2 clicks damage. He has 6 clicks
of damage and
picks up incapacitate (for stun grenades he has) and ranged combat
expert along the way.
Stats based on the old TSR Marvel RPG which has been consistent
with the current
Heroclix released to date.
Beast has more fur highlights than the picture shows, and is my
favorite.
Hit Sabertooth with the hairdryer first, and put him in a different
pose.
I lowered the claw and raised the fist even more for a friend,
and that model looks even better than this one! He's 128 points
with a movement of 8
(leap/climb), starting attack of 9 increasing to 11 (claws/fangs),
defense of 14 and
damage ranging from 2-3 with outwit included along the way to
reflect his
intelligence. He really helps the Xmen take on any Sentinal with
Outwit! Did I mention
he also has 9 clicks of damage?
My buddy Nick was easy too! The gun in his right hand is simply
the machine gun cut down in size! He's 26 points to lead a SHIELD
Squad,
Movement of 6, 2 attacks with range of 6 and 9 to hit,
defense of 14 (willpower) and damage of 1 (leadership) and
takes 6 clicks before he goes down.
Don't know what to do with that spare Constrictor or those white
plastic
protectors? Cut off the whips, then paint him all black.
Finally, cut the protectors into thin strips, then superglue them
on to Constrictor and cry, "Havok!" He's 45 points,
with
movement of 6, attack of 6 (pulse wave), defense of 14. His range
is only 4,
(the TSR rules only give him range of 3)
but to minic his "Plasma Generation" ability which can
build up to
monstrous levels, he starts out able to deliver 7 clicks of damage
to any
single character or use the pulse wave. However, he has only 6
clicks and
loses one point of defense and damage with each hit he takes.
Round off Quicksilver's head, then get yourself some
chrome paint. Getting the eyes right required a touch of white,
outlined with a .005 permanent ink pen you can get at better
art supply or craft stores. Same pen used for all the figure's
eyes.
He's a monstrous 355 points, suitable only for large games, but
he
makes them a special occasion! His speed is 36 (running shot),
attack 10 (energy explosion),
defense 17 (invulnerability) and damage 3 (switching between long
range expert and support).
He goes for 11 clicks. Before you think he is untouchable, keep
in mind that at defense of 17
a hero with attack of 10 or greater and damage of 3 has a 50%
chance of scoring a click of
damage on him each roll! Again, stats come straight from the old
Marvel TSR RPG game.
Iceman was also easy to do, if you have a spare Klaw available.
Drilled a small hole in the arm, glued in a straight section
from a paper clip,
and started adding putty for his ice sled, but realized it looked
better as a
frozen blast, so there you have it. He is worth only 58 points,
and his ice-
making ability only ever had a range of 3 in the marvel game so
his range
was rounded up to 4. That limited range combined with only typical
movement
on his "ice slides" would not qualify him for flight
according to the TSR system.
As a mutant he therefore gets movement of 8, attack of 7 (incapacitate
because
he can freeze opponents) defense of 16 for when he "ices
up" for protection (Barrier
of Ice) with damage of 1 (ranged combat expert for his "ice
daggers" he
specializes in). However, he has only 5 clicks. His barrier ability
also comes
in handy for a team going up against Sentinels or other ranged
combat specialists.
