Series 1, Game 4 Pylons 000 003 001 013 - 8 11 0 Fireballs 011 000 020 011 - 6 9 1 w - Duran l - Holton HR - Y. Alvarez (6th inning off E. Swanson, 2 on, 1 out) - Back and forth game saw Fireballs take a 2-0 lead through 5. - Pylons went ahead in the top of the 6th with Y. Alvarez's 3-run HR. - Fireballs come back with two in the bottom of the 8th to go up 4-3. - Plyons tie it up in the top of the 9th and hold the Fireballs scoreless to force extra innings. - Neither team was able to plate the ghost runner in the 10th. Albies, the ghostie for the Fireballs, advanced to 3rd on a Ruiz passed ball, but was then caught in a rundown with Robert attempting the squeeze. - Both score in the 11th then, making his first appearance of the season, Trout knocks in 2 runs with a 1-out triple in the top of the 12th as the Pylons take the win. - Fireballs stole 7 bases in 9 attempts. - For the first time in 28 seasons, the Pylons successfully execute a steal of home as Varsho pulls off the feat in the top of the 11th. Series 2, Game 1 Fireballs 330 001 000 12 - 10 10 0 Pylons 001 040 020 14 - 12 12 1 w - Neris l - Holton HR - McMahon (1st inning off Gallen, 2 on, 2 out); Robert (2nd inning off Gallen, 1 on, 2 out), Alonso (6th inning off Ottavino, 0 on, 2 out); Chapman (3rd inning off Perez, 0 on, 0 out); Taylor (5th inning off Perez, 2 on, 1 out); Lowe (8th inning off Diaz, 1 on, 2 out); Adames (11th inning off Holton, 2 on, 2 out) - Another extra inning thriller. This time, the Fireballs jumped out to a 6-0 lead, knocking Gallen out after 2. - The Pylons rally back to within 1 after a 4-run bottom of the 5th. - Alonso's solo HR in the 6th puts Leesburg back up by 2. Pylons tied the game in the bottom of the 9th on Lowe's 2-out 2-run HR. - After a scoreless 9th and plating both ghosties in the 10th, the Fireballs get two on McMahon's 2-run 3B with 1 out in the top of the 11th. - In the bottom of the 11th, ghost runner Varsho scores on Drury's 2-out 2B. Chapman then walks and Adames hits a 3-run walk-off HR for the Pylons' win. - McMahon was a single shy of the cycle as he went 3 for 5, 2B, 3B, HR, run, BB, and 5 RBIs. Series 2, Game 2 Fireballs 000 200 300 - 5 8 1 Pylons 300 004 00x - 7 12 1 w - Musgrove l - Webb s - Neris HR - F. Alvarez (4th inning off Musgrove, 1 on, 1 out) - A lot of crooked numbers on the board in this one. - Pylons score 3 runs before an out was recorded as the roll off 4 consecutive hits to start the bottom of the 1st. - Having pulled to within 2, the Fireballs have the bases loaded with 2 outs in the 9th but, noted Pylons' killer Alonso grounds out 1-3 to end the game. Series: A really good series with a lot of back and forth. Even though they only won 2 games, the Fireballs outscored the Pylons 39 to 34 and outhit them 55 to 51. The were also 17 of 19 stealing for the 6 games. Results: Pylons 2, Fireballs 2 Pylons 2, Fireballs 0 PS: after using the ghost runner rule for the first time in this series, I must say it sucks as much as I thought it would.
