After a series cancellation/reschedule the Rumrunners arrived at Bohs Park at Sassafras River on Tuesday the 27th to claim their 3rd league championship and first in 15 seasons since they defeated the York Trailblazers. This was the second time the Rumrunners and Bohs faced off in the finals. The Bohs scrapped back in game 7 to beat the Rumrunners in their first ever trip to the finals in 2004 4 games to 3. Suburbia answered by eking out a 2-out run in the 2nd to tie and the tit-for-tat of game one was on! Trea Turner ledoff the 2nd inning with HR only to be matched by Shohei Ohtanis solo shot in the 3rd to tie again. The Third inning saw the Bohs last run of the game as they once again took the lead but the Rummies tied in the top of the 4th as the Bohs had two errors in the inning leading to the tying run. A Betts solo shot in the 6th was all Beuhler needed to finish with the win as the Rumrunners pen closed out their first win of the series with 2.2 IP of scoreless ball. Both teams had the same number of hits each as the first game. The Bohs struck first again in the 1st including a solo shot by Joey Votto. The Rummies roared back in the 2nd and 3rd squeezing out a run in the 2nd and then Ohtani in the leadoff spot went deep for his 2nd HR of the game in the top of the third to tie it. A Votto RBI single bringing in Reynolds gave the Bohs the lead until the 9th inning. Scherzer pitched a strong 7.1 IP yielding to Sadler in the pen in the 8th who gave up a leadoff double in the 9th to Betts who eventually scored on a 1-out Semien single tying the game. But then the only failure of the Rumrunners pen of the day occurred in the bottom of the inning as Drew Steckenrider entered to hold the game in an effort to get to extra innings but it was not to be. Slater who had come in as a lefty specialist to face Chafin in the 7th inning eked out a 1-out walk after Turner who was caught stealing the 2nd time in the series this time by Diaz after getting on as the leadoff batter. Merrifield in the 9th spot was the game hero hitting the first of three walkoff hits for wins in the series roping a double to right field. The Bohs once again for the 3rd game in the series got out ahead in the first inning after a leadoff walk was issued to India. The second inning Stroman forced a 1-out bases loaded 4-6-3 double play from India though and it would be four more innings before the Bohs scored again and regained the lead. The bottom of the 2nd saw the Rummies take the lead off 2 runs as Betts who was having a great series first doubled in Schwindel and then came home himself later in the inning on a Macus Semien single again. Bryan Reynolds 2nd HR of the series with Brantley on in the top of the 6th temporarily gave the Bohs the lead again but the Rumrunners answered once again in a tight one with Schwindels only HR of the series in the bottom of the frame. Burnes remained in the game until the start of the 9th inning when he was relieved by Leone who had a clean 9th but with two on and two out in the bottom of the 10th Crawford hit his second HR of the series in walk off fashion giving the Rumrunners a 6-3 win and a 2-1 series lead as we headed back to the top of the rotations. Only 3 runners advanced to second base for the Bohs. Back to back leadoff HRs in the 4th by Rizzo and Betts broke the Bohs back as Franco doubled after tripling and scoring in the previous inning and an error on the left fielder brought him home. A later double by Schwindel capped the 4-run inning and the game played out scoreless.
