Prologue:
Ever since the early 21st Century, a global alliance was under development. The beginning of this alliance would be created by using the same money currency through ought all countries. As the 22nd century was nearing by, the technology known as hyper-text-transfer-protocal (or what most know as the Internet) had already been installed in 86% of the world's total population. The European government noticed this trend and it was only a few decades later that this global currency would be used through the Internet, because it would not be easy for all countries and cultures to cooperate physically. This money was known as the Euro and was forced to be used for any purchasing in the markets. Those not fortunate enough to own a personal computer device of their own, were able to create an account through "Euro centers" set up through their local convenience stores. After all of earth established this alliance, it was used to every extent, even attempting to deliver food right to your own household. The world had become obsessed with its own creation and life had never been so easy. Unfortunately, this victory did not come as so easily as the European government had wished. By the year 3012, the world was coming dangerously close to resource depletion and there was almost nothing they cold not. At first, researchers and scientists would come to the same conclusion, that the world would come to an end in the next few years, but that was not so. There was one scientist who thought above the rest, one who brought up an old idea and made it new again. The idea was to establish enough economic resources on the nearby planet of Mars. Although this idea had been under research for almost a century, it was only then that the government officials had to take it seriously and it was then that 90% of the world's government income would be used on this mission. Although it would take approximately 12 years to set up an economic stability on the planet, radiation homes were set up through ought the plains of Mars' terrain. These facilities would be very crowded but would only be needed the first 15 years of the project. It was now only a matter of time that the Earth's population would be making the long but, -now due to technology- short trip to the red planet. It was shortly before they started this exclusion that the earth was very short on electricity. Water was not only undrinkable but so polluted that the damns would not work, winds were becoming over 150 kph and lightening was so high in voltage that no technology could contain it, and all communication (including the Internet) would be shut down by the date December 5, 3017. The remains of electricity was to be for the transportation from Earth to Mars in the ships named ST's. It was now set that after all power had been shut off, that every one of Earth's citizens would be given a day between February 1, 3015 and September 9, 3018. The cooperation of all was to be expected and the plan would be a success . . . . . . and mankind would change as we know it.
Chapter 1:
"Aren't they just, so beautiful" says Dr. Hugh as high gazes out of the ST's window. "It is a shame that you will never be seeing them again". The doctor turns away from the window as the 2 windows adjacent from each other slowly darken as if they were increasing their tint. He is now hidden by a shadow that has formed in the room. There are four others, tied to their chairs, in dimly white straight jackets, in the room with him. It is secured by two armed guards, who walk out of the room as the doctor closes in on this mysterious man. This man acts as if he has something to do and somewhere to go. He has a cold stare on as the doctor heads toward him, out of the darkness. "You know, Mars is a lot darker than anyone thinks it is, the clouds are not white, not even gray, they are almost black as if there was no sun. The only way we are able to see is artificial light, unless you are in the high mountains.". The doctor is still standing in front of the mysterious man as he looks at the other 3 in straight jackets. None of them are talking and it seems as if they know something is going to happen to them, or just waiting for it to happen. The lady to the right of the strange man starts to shiver, she is nervous and scared of this doctor who is holding back from telling them what they are really hear for. There is a cabinet on the wall, near the solid doors where the two guards are now standing. He heads over to this cabinet and opens it with a key. It is a small cabinet and it looks as if it contains medication inside of it. As the doctor is busy reaching inside of the cabinet, the mysterious man starts to rustle around in his straight jacket, and the doctor doesn't seem to care, or even notice. But this man seems to be doing something more than rustling around, the others notice what he is doing and the lady to his left starts to whisper in her breath, "what are you doing?". The man looks at her for a long moment and replies with a quiet, "Shhh..". The doctor has now a pistol in his left hand and a container which is holding blue pills the size of a bean, in his right. The first person he walk's to is a young lady with long blonde hair who is holding back from crying out. She is so scared and does not know what to do. The doctor begins to ask the question, "You have a choice, you may either cooperate and swallow this pill I offer," he then reveals the gun he's hid behind his back, "or you may never see another day again. It is your decision, but I warn, that after the pill, you will loose all memory of earth.". The lady is quick to reach into the container the doctor is holding but she stops before plopping it into her mouth. "Wait a moment doctor, my jacket, it, it's too tight..." The mysterious man cries and the lady holds off from swallowing the pill as he walks over to the man. "Oh really, would you like me to just, take it off for you?" He says sarcastically. But the man does not answer and the doctor gives him a colder stare than he's giving him. Just as the doctor is about to walk back to the lady, the man leans back in his chair and as the chair starts to fall backward, he plunges his back horizontally on the chair neck. Time seems to be moving slowly and just as the doctor looks at him, the man spins his body off of the chair as if it was barrel rolling and gives the doctor a round house kick right to the jaw, which spins the doctor as he falls to the ground, the gun is now on the ground in a reachable position and the doctor is unconscious laying on the ground. The man just stands there, his jacket drops to his feat and he turns his head toward the gun. The women who has been quivering next to him all this time, starts to speak out in amazement, "what the hell are you doing?" . "He's going to get us all killed!" "No, I know what I am doing, now wait here..." he picks up the gun and heads to the door. Somehow he has managed to grab two guns. "Where did you get that one!?" With ought answering, he looks out the vault-like, door windows and sees the two guards. He steps back slowly, kicks the doors heard, the doors fly open and the guards start to turn around. It is too late, the man runs as quickly as possible towards the guards, crosses his arms and shoots both guns at the same time, the guards are dead, he doesn't look back as he keeps running down the long corridor. Finally, where the corridor branches in four ways, leaning his back on the white, never been toughed wall, he stops and takes a brake. A long brake, and starts to think. He is planning to take control of the ship somehow but realizes he can't do it alone. He thinks to himself, 'I need the other's help, but they can't fight unarmed, I need to find a few hand guns.'.
Breathing heavily he, starts off in search for them. His first idea is to grab the two that the guards were armed with but decides to grab them on his way back. The corridor straight ahead looks like it leads to the cockpit, the halls to the left and right lead to the rooms that the civilians are kept. None of these paths are where he could find weapons. Then he notices a door, looks like it leads into a small room, closet sized. He seems to believe that their may be guns inside of it, but needs to find the keys, he has a flashback, it seems that just before he was taken into the room with the doctor, he saw one of the guards toss a set of keys into a box on top of a table where two guards where sitting nearby, 'There is no way those guards could still be sitting at that table, just hope they didn't move those keys...'. He then heads down the right hall, where he remembers the table. Sure enough he sees the table but just as he is about to grab them out of the box, he hears voices.
There is a crate just next to the table with the key, and he hides behind it as the two men pass by. Once they passed into the other hall, he then garbed the key out of the box and made a run for the room that he anticipates has the weaponry in it. As he takes the key to open the door, he finds that there are two M-16 automatic machine guns, and a strange gun that appears to be a new version of a Magnum, but has some sort of a tube on the top and appears to be larger. He had hoped for a full closet of guns but all the rest of the closet was full of white suits with strange goggles that all the guards where to identify themselves from the civilians. That's when it hit him, 'I better take some of these to the others'. He garbed 4 pairs, while putting one on himself and strapped the M-16's over his shoulder. He put the two pistols he had carried before into his left and right pockets and garbed the Magnum encase anything went wrong on the way back. He shut the door hard and ran back to the room where the others were, passing by the two dead guards, trying not to look at them. 'I better grab their weapons' and he kneeled down to take their weapons from them just as he noticed they were just like the strange Magnum he had been holding. Quickly stuffing them in with the pistols, he ran back to the room where the others were discussing what they think is going on. The mysterious man takes the knife off of one of the M-16's and slits the each woman's straight jacket off, "I take it you all know the government is up to something, and if we are caught, we are all dead. In order to find out what is really going on, we must discus ourselves as guards. If you see anyone, other than a civilian.." He takes off the weaponry and sets them on the ground, "..kill them." There was a silence in everyone for a short time. "And if to make sure we fit in with the other guards, where these suites..." And he dropped them down and walked off to the corner of the room to allow and sat down on a bed (where the doctor was to lay sleeping patients after the pill) to allow the women to dress themselves privately. The first one dressed came came over to the man. She had deep blue eyes, and messy green hair. It looked as if she had been an outcast all of her life. Her voice was very smooth and she didn't sound like she cared weather she was dead or not. She sat down beside of him, noticing he looked depressed. "Would you have taken the pill, or the gun?" Asked the man without turning his head. "I don't know, maybe the gun, I just new I wouldn't need to decide." "Hmm.." He sounded as if he was just trying to spark conversation but didn't care really care what she answered with. "When I saw that you had loosened the laces of you jacket, I knew what you would do from there and I knew that you had a.." "Had what? A plan? I don't have any idea what I'm doing, I just know that there is something going on that were not being told and the only way to find out is to see what happens, after a civilian has taken the pill." "Well at least your confident about yourself. I'm Vicki. The blonde over there is Sarah and the red head's Janet." At this point Sarah sat down with the two, quietly. "But, you still haven't given us you name." Implied Vicki. "My name is Arthur, but I am known as Hantruk." "That's an unusual name, why did you choose that name."
At this point Hantruk looked disturbed and got up very slowly as if he were listening to something in the distance. Sarah quickly jumped left of the door, where the doctors cabinet was and let out a big gasp. "Hide somewhere, quickly!" Hantruk said as he ran towards the side of the door ducking to meet Sarah.
