Tight End Rankings
)Tony Gonzalez, KC. A very young player who finally stopped dropping all those passes last year. He showed how good he can be and will be again.
)Wesley Walls, CAR. If Beuerlein and Carolina have another good year I'll be eating these words. I think that with his advangcing age he may slow down a bit but he'll still be a top TE.
)Frank Wycheck, TEN. Definitely the most dependable receiver the Titans had last year. And I was lucky enough to have him on my team. Probably will be the best receiver on the team again this year.
)Rickey Dudley, OAK. He won't get the most yardage or TD's but he gets good numbers in both. Numbers could rise here with any luck.
)Shannon Sharpe, BAL. He dropped from #1 to #5 the second that Baltimore signed Ben Coates.
)Bubba Franks, GB. A bit high? Na. Favre loves the TE position especially in the red zone, and with GB's line this year a dumpoff guy is gonna be key. Franks comes in with tons of talent.
)Freddie Jones, SD. Good yardage but lack of touchdowns is very discouraging. It is looking up though, since SD may be passing more in the red zone this year with the loss of Means.
The rest of the field has a pretty large dropoff, probably getting less than 500 yards for the year.
)Jay Riemersma, BUF.
)Stephen Alexander, WAS.
)Pete Mitchell, NYG.
)David Sloan, DET.
)Marcus Pollard, IND.
)David LaFleur, DAL.
)Byron Chamberlain, DEN.
)Ken Dilger, IND.
