Klondike Days 3Deep Concert
The 3Deep concert at Klondike Days Ah, I remember this day well...kinda.. haha. It was Friday, July 30, 1999, and I was off to Klondike Days, the festival where we relive the Gold Rush of 1898 in downtown Edmonton, Alberta. We got there, and immediately headed for all of the attractions, my two friends and I. I wanted to catch the 3Deep concert, set for 3pm at Telus Stage, near Skyreach Center. We got to the stage at 2pm, a whole hour before the concert was to start, just so we could get a good seat. Well, we did get a good seat, but a careful distance away from the screaming and clawing mob of girls crowding the stage, LOL.

At about 3:30 or so, the manager came out and announced 3Deep, blah blah blah, but that THIS was just a quick autograph session or something, and that the ACTUAL concert was at 9pm. Well, we stayed for a bit, listened to just Josh and CJ singing "Into You" and that. We found out that Eddie was taping a show down in Los Angeles, and that he would be at the 9pm show. So, we left, heading for more attractions. We dropped by the Power92 tent to listen to CJ and Josh co-hosting the "Hot 6@6" with Chad "The Pog" Martin. It wasn't too bad, they did a good job. We sat around, listening, then we heard their manager talking on the cell-phone just behind the Power92 tent. He was on the phone with Eddie, down in Los Angeles. Eddie was telling him that his flight's been detained, and he probably wouldn't be in Edmonton until about 10 or so! Then my dad caught up with us, and said he wanted to take the family home. "HELL NO!" i screamed, we're staying until 10:30, AT LEAST. After a ton of persuading, he finally gave in. So we went on rides until they came out of our ears. haha. At 8:12pm, I said, "WHOA, time to head for Telus Stage."

We arrived at the stage about 6 minutes later, and were able to get good seats. Around 9:45 or so, the manager again came out, and told us that Eddie hadn't left L.A. until around 7:30 or 8, but he would be in Edmonton soon. CJ and Josh had a little question period there, where selected audience members got to ask a question. One guy wrote his question down. Here is the exact quote. "Josh, I want you to take off all of your clothes right in the middle of your performance." Sounds normal right? Well, it was signed "Love, FRANK." LOL.

More questions were asked, and around 11:00, we received word that Eddie was backstage, and the show would start in just a few minutes. So they came out, and sang just three songs, one right after the other. "Never Gonna Give Up," "Into You," and "Rain" were all sung by '3Deep'...then they left, they had to be in Ontario the next day. We got a 12 minute concert out of all that...the sad part is....is was ALL worth it :oP
