Saturday, July 28 A crippling story (1:00PM CST) Today's Story Time! addition is Alex "Thunder" Hutsch's The
Cripple. There were a lot of formating problems when I orginally
got this file, so it may not be in orginal condition. Oh well, it's
a good story anyways, so go read it.
Declaration of Independence (1:00PM CST) We have a new Member on the Archive today. Known only as Titan,
his addition to the Archive is the first in a potential series of stories
called Freespace: Independence. The first is The
Ancient Trap, and guess what, we've got the prologue.
Great news isn't it?
Laramis Update (1:00PM CST) I should have mentioned this earlier, but I got comfirmation that Rake
is completely redoing his site, which is why it's down at the moment.
The moment it goes back up, I'll tell you. It should look good though,
as Rake has said he's got a big stack of HTML books sitting next to his
computer.
Guess what? (1:00PM CST) Go on, guess. Oh, all right. After being up for nearly a
month, I've finally finished the Staff
& Members page of the Archive. I guess I'm not as lazy
as I thought. Well, go read them and my mildly witty comments.
As for the Links page, I'm working on it, I swear, it's just taking a little
longer. Sorry.
Wednesday, July 25 What are your limitations? (12:00PM CST) Today's addition is Beyond
Our Limits by Emanuel Garcia. Not much else to say besides
the fact that I have the page backed up in case the orginal suddenly goes
down since it hasn't been updated in a while.
Saturday, July 22 Where is Beyond Laramis? (1:00PM CST) Don't look at me, I don't know. Rake's website and bulletin board
have all vanished. It might be that they were all a dream, but I
do remember Rake mentioning something about taking the site down to prepare
for a re-release. In any case, I'll leave the front page here at
the Archive up for when it comes back. I'll also see if I can contact
Rake and find out what happened exactly.
A pilot by any other name. . . (1:00PM CST) Today's Story Time! is Callsign
by Jason Siddle. Ever wonder how pilots get their callsigns, well
here's one way. Go read it!
The Vault (1:00PM CST) I've mentioned the FSA Vault a few times now, but I've never really
told you what it is. Really, it's the complete list of every Freespace
Story I can find. Why don't I post them all at once? If I did
that, how would I keep you coming back? Anyways, there's at least
70 stories in the Vault, 16 of which have been posted so far. I've
got a long way to go.
Wednesday, July 11 Volition Watch? (12:00PM CST) Merger mania has finally infected the Internet. The first victims,
Freespace Watch, Descent Chronicals and Restricted Access. All three
have pooled their resorces and have become Volition
Watch. Personally, I'm a bit wary of worshiping a company
simply on the basis of two really great games, but I'm also not crazy so.
. .
The Phantom Menace (12:00PM CST) Well, with the closing of Freespace Watch, it looks like one of the
classic, unfinished Freespace stories may be going with it. Until
then, I'll have the link to it and then I'll place it here. So, go
read Plasma's Phantom,
and then e-mail bomb him until he decides to finish it, if ever.
Saturday, July 15 What does lie Beyond Laramis? (1:00PM CST) If you've been looking through the various story catagories, you probably
noticed Phil “Rake” Loustaunau's Beyond
Laramis in the Off
Site Members section. Well, it was a place holder until a
few days ago when I got off my fat butt and finally asked Rake to be a
Member. Now, Beyond Laramis is part of the Freespace Story Archive.
Go read it.
Mystery of the deep (1:00PM CST) As part of today's Story Time! special, I present Unknown
Motives by Alan Hummel. There's a new player on the block,
but what it wants is a complete and utter mystery.
Laziness (1:00PM CST) You'll notice that the Staff & Members page as well as the Links
page is still not up. It's totally due to laziness, it really is.
I'll finish it one day, hopefully before I empty the Vault.
Wednesday, July 11 The last bit of Pride (12:00PM CST) The final chapter of PeachE's Terran
Pride is now up. You may need to read it a couple of times
to realise that the victor is <Censored>. One day I'll
find those damn censors and I'll <Censored!>.
LFtS, Red Skies (12:00PM CST) The first part of the Leader for the Shivans 3 is now up. Red
Skies deleves deep into how the Terrans, Vasudans, Ancients and
Shivans are all related, but really it's about more sword play with good
old Sam fighting a vengful Shivan. And there's a black hole too!
The host with the most (12:00PM CST) Let me say this now, I'm not looking for a new host. I'm
happy with Angelfire right now, so I'll stick with it. If you simply
can't stand that pop-up window, do what I do: When it comes up, click
the main window and ignore it! It works, I do it all the time.
When, and if, I need a new host, I'll make sure everyone knows, until then,
relax.
Saturday, July 8 Pride on a rampage (1:00PM CST) PeachE has added to his story Terran
Pride with the fourth chapter: Last Stand. The Vasudans
finally get a taste of their own medicine, but something continues to smell
funny with the whole war.
Ship of lies (1:00PM CST) Alhazred's Alliances
now has a second chapter: Opening Moves. Honestly, this is
probably one of the best Freespace fan-fics out there, even better than
my own.
Saturday's story (1:00PM CST) This week's Story Time story is The
Stars Above. No one said a Freespace fan-fic had to have
fighting in it.
Wednesday, July 5 Yet more pride (3:00PM CST) PeachE has added yet another a chapter of Terran
Pride. Things aren't looking good for the Terrans in this
chapter.
LFtS, the second chapter (3:00PM CST) In my continuing quest to bring you every Freespace story in existance,
I've established a link to James Moores Leader
For the Shivans 2: Beyond the Vega Node. I think that
this was by far the weakest member of the LFtS trilogy, but it exists,
and as such must be presented here. Enjoy.
Monthly review (3:00PM CST) I just finished the first ever FSA Month in Review for June.
Look for it in the Staff
Articles section.
Saturday, July 1 The last fight (1:00PM CST) Today's story is Last
Skirmish with Vasudan Ships, or as I simply call it, Last Fight,
by Campbell March. I think it has one of the best dogfight scenes
I've seen yet, but I haven't read all the stories in the vault yet.
Anyways, go read it.
Pride goeth before destruction (1:00PM CST) PeachE has added to his story Terran
Pride with the second chapter: The Battle of Deneb.
Yet another battle of Deneb? How many of them were there anyways.
Well go read it, it's not that bad.
News archive (1:00PM CST) For those of you who care (and why should you), the news from June has
been archived. Why did I do it? Hell, everyone else does it,
why not me. Expect a June news summary as soon as I get around to
writing it.

I am not responsible for the use or misuse of information on this or anyother website. I am not taking credit for the story in Descent: Freespace The Great War. I have just extrapolated a story from the plot and created this concept. I do not plan to sell it and do not pretend to know more than I do. In other words: PLEASE DON’T SUE ME! All this neat Freespace stuff is the copyright of Interplay Inc. and Volition Inc. and not mine, I just like playing with it. Anything submitted to the Archive is mine to do with as I please. If you don't like it, don't submit anything, alright? Read main disclaimer for more. My lawyer loves it when I write this stuff in small print. |
