Beyond Laramis
Preview: Deep in the heart of Terran space, a new ship, carrying extraordinarily advanced sensor systems, detects a brand new Jump Node on the far side of the Laramis starsystem. With images of the Sathanas dancing through everyone's mind, the GTVA fears the worst, and plans to send a pair of Pegasus starfighters in to find out if a Shivan armada is on its way, while a fleet is mobilized to defend the human race if they're inbound. However, this new Node is right in the middle of The Gorge, a cloud of explosive gases constantly bombarded by solar flares from the Laramis Star. A virtual minefield in space, the pilots tasked with this mission not only have to determine whether or not the Shivans are launching an invasion from the other side, but also discover if the rumors of a phantom fleet of Terran ships seen in the area are true. Now, the race is on as Captain Jason Vanous, leader of the elite fighter squadron Triple D (Death, Destruction, Determination), must fly straight into the heart of a nightmarish gas cloud, any wrong move resulting in his immediate annihilation. Not knowing if the other side will be just as volatile, or if he'll jump right into a Sathanas' face and be destroyed instantly, his mission is compounded by the mysterious Terran fleet he is supposed to confirm, or deny, the existance of. And Commander John Maltor, ace extraordinaire reduced to scaring off Cadets during peace time, must travel with him into hell and back, with the fate of humanity resting on his shoulders. With growing suspicions of those running the show, and the odds of his surviving the trip over small enough, coming back even worse, he has to try and unravel what's really happening before it's to late. But, with the reinforcements defending Laramis coming in from all over GTVA space, he must buy them as much time as he can... or else. NOTE: This was the orginal trailer for Beyond Laramis. For

I have just extrapolated a story from the plot and created this concept. I do not plan to sell it and do not pretend to know more than I do. In other words: PLEASE DON’T SUE ME! All this neat Freespace stuff is the copyright of Interplay Inc. and Volition Inc. and not mine, I just like playing with it. Anything submitted to the Archive is mine to do with as I please. If you don't like it, don't submit anything, alright? Read main disclaimer for more. My lawyer loves it when I write this stuff in small print. |
