        When Freespace originally came out, it was only a skeleton of a universe.  As such, a small group decided to write a guide for mission builders and story writers to follow in adding to the universe.  This was the original FreeSpace Universal Reference Project, the FSURP.  Unfortunately, due to lack of interest, attention, and various other problems, FSURP
basically died.  Now, with Freespace 2 out, and campaign builders on a rampage, we’ve decided to resurrect the Project.  However, the only way to do this the right way is to start from scratch and build the Neo-FSURP from the ground up.

        To help reach our goal, I (the Eishtmo) have divided up the Neo-FSURP into three parts, with are primary goal to complete at least the first two.  The first part is Data Collection, where we will get down to the nitty-gritty of the Freespace universe and document everything, no matter how inaccurate.  Part two is Compilation where we will make the Encyclopedia from the data gathered.  Part three is Speculation, where we’ll try to make reasonable assumptions from the data provided to fill out the Freespace universe a little more.  Part three may never come up, but if we complete one and two, I see no reason not to push on.
