Resident
Evil: Gaiden on Game Boy Color
Did
you feel cheated when Capcom cancelled the beautiful
looking Resident Evil port for Game Boy a few years ago?
Your feelings of betrayal did not occur in vain as
Capcom has been working on a new project ever since
called Resident Evil: Gaiden. According C&VG
the story revolves around Barry Burton and Leon Kennedy
in their quest to take down Umbrella once and for all.
The graphics are very reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid
for the GBC with small characters in large environments.
We'll keep you updated on this surprise announcement
from Capcom. Talk about it in the Resident
Evil Forum. -Clay |

A
Review Of Resident Evil On GAMECUBE
The
announcement happened in the wake of incident in New
York but it was a relief to those wishing to escape all
the horrible news. Capcom made clear their plans to
release Resident Evil (Biohazard in Japan) only on the
GAMECUBE and other Nintendo consoles. That's right folks
it's only on Nintendo and wait till you see what they
have in store! The first game on the list is a remake of
Biohazard/Resident Evil for the Cube. We're not talking
a simple remake either we're talking about total
reinvention the likes you've never seen. Just check out
these pictures and you too will believe the power of the
Cube. Also IGN Cube has a nice comparison on the major
differences between the two versions. (Obvious
differences due to a huge leap in power) Also it has
been reported that RE2, 3 and Code Veronica will be
ports rather than remakes. Don't be surprised if the
ports look significantly better than the originals.
(Brand new character models, etc. Talk about it in the Resident
Evil Forum. -Clay |

Film
Resident
Evil: Ground Zero (Movie)
The
latest details from IGN and Resident
Evil Forum reveal a release date for the new RE
movie for April 5, 2002. The movie, which is a
prequel to the original Resident Evil, will host a set
of new characters including Milla Jovovich and Michelle
Rodriguez as the main stars and will feature many
popular RE monsters from both RE1 and RE2. IGN gathered
some spicy info about specific monsters making
appearances as well as other aspects: "...the
filmmakers have included many specific details from the
games, such as zombie dogs and the "Licker". A
few movie sequences are even copied from the games, such
as the underground train from Resident Evil 2."
Also check out REF
as they've posted the latest stills from Ground Zero,
which show off the dark gritty look of the film. It's
also reported that the movie will not rely on the showy
computer generated effects and in turn will primarily
focus on the zombies. This is good news for those hoping
for a zombie movie revival. (Which could be the case
with the promising House of the Dead film coming soon)
Fans should also rest easy about not seeing a
Tyrant-like creature during the finale of the film.
Source promise a biological nightmare that will keep you
awake at night. One last thing before we wrap up this
movie report: Rodriguez told Sci
Fi Wire in a recent interview that there was
"zombies, nothing but zombies". Sweet dreams
my readers. Talk about it in the Resident
Evil Forum. -Clay |

Action Figures
Resident
Evil: Series 2 from Palisade
Palisade
recently released its First Series of what will most
likely become the most popular action figure line of the
year, Resident Evil. Move over McFarlane cause Palisade
has released some of the most detailed figures in
history and their Second Series is ready to dethrone any
Movie Maniacs model and set a new standard for
grotesque creatures. The best of the new batch is far
and away the Zombie Cop/Licker bundle, which has to be
seen to be believed. The other new arrivals are an
Alexia 2-pack and the infamous Mr. X. The figures from
Series 1 were fully articulated while retaining an
absurd amount of detail. Talk about it in the Resident
Evil Forum. -Clay |
