Need for GT3 Speed!!!!!
Once I had a dream that never made sense to me until now. I dreamt I breathed steam; that I felt this surge of power coursing through my whole body and I left trails of fire as I trod my path. I saw the ground beneath me as if I were actually flying above the naked earth in a majestic like way. Up until a few weeks ago, I never knew what that dream could have meant until I played Gran Turismo 3 for the first time. I always believed that life should not be taken for granted, that you should live it flying by the seat of your pants. I don’t know if it was just me or the fact that I just had 4 pieces of pizza which gave me ogre gas, but when I turned on the game to play the feeling of flying had become reiterated watching the intro scene. I had a great feeling this game was destined for excellence, but as I learned the hard way, never buy a game based on the graphics alone. I expected to play a racing game that day, what was to come next would have never crossed my mind. That day I lived my dream. Smoke filled the lungs of Mother Earth as I squealed my tires heading into turn one. GT3 presents a challenge like no other. It frustrates you to the point that you want to throw the game out the window and watch it burn in the sun. That is up until the point where you finally cross that finish line with nothing but dust behind you. This game harnesses everything you’ve ever wanted to do in your car. It forces you to utilize all your driving skills, all your passion for speed and pure adrenaline. It makes you combine everything you’ve learned about racing games and drives you to become better than yourself. It pushes you to the edge of human limits, holds you there and presents to you what true power feels like. Despite the great graphics that fooled my oldest brother into thinking he was watching “a real T.V. Program,” the lack of car manufacturers in the game presents a slight hinder for the game play in regards to the previous GT chapters I’ve played before. As I’ve figured though, not every game is going to be top of the line perfection when played. There is always going to be some kink within the system that may annoy some gamers. Though GT3 exhibits less car manufacturers to choose from and the fact that making sharp turns is still unforgiving to any mistake, Gran Turismo 3 is still a game worth however much it costs today. However, as I’ve said before, some games don’t click well with other gamers and they end up collecting dust on the shelf for however long they choose to keep it there. I strongly suggest before you buy the game, play it with a friend who has it first or rent it from a local video store to see if the game is right for you. Many people have a different sense of what the replay value is on a game, so test it out, and see what you think. If you fall in love with the game like I did and choose to buy it, more power to you. If you choose this isn’t right for you, you just saved yourself a wad of cash. Catch y’all later on the flip side.
