Cloud is obviously the main character of the game. For some reason, he decided to join with the terrorist group AVALANCHE for a fee. They go around blowing up Shinra reactors so they will stop draining the mako ,the lifeforce of the Planet. While in the first reactor, Cloud hears an odd voice in his head telling him that this isn't an ordinary reactor, but he shakes it off. After he places the bomb in it's correct position and sets the timer, a machine comes up and attacks him and Barret, the leader of AVALANCHE.
[Personality]
This guys's personality changes A LOT from the beginning to end. At first, he's a cold guy who seems to care about nothing but getting paid for his services. Then, as you progress in the story and meet new characters, he begins to soften up. Aeris was probably the character who changed him the most, because she always had a feeling that there wasn't something right with Cloud. He starts being a lot more..umm..can't think of a wordddd, well, he becomes less cold. A lot of other things happen in between him and his changes, but if you didn't play the game then you don't know, haha. Anyway, Cloud is yet another example of the fact that there are many spikeyheaded heroes in the world ><. Don't get me wrong, I like Cloud, he's cool, BUT HAS THE WORLD GONE MAD? TOO MANY SPIKEYHEADS ::dies::.
Cloud is powerful with his sword, and with materia. It's not a good idea to put too much on him, maybe a summon and a couple of magic spells.
[The Truth]
Warning! This section explains nearly everything about Cloud. If you don't want to know, then don't read!
Lots of stuff happens to Cloud. You find out that he never really was in SOLDIER, and that all the stories he told you did not include himself, but another SOLDIER named Zack. This causes Cloud to freak out a lot because he can't really tell what are his memories and what are the false ones. The person behind this is none other than ::cues evil music:: Jenova! I hate her......soooo very much. Anyway, i don't want to talk about that bitch! I'll have enough to say about her in her own section, bwahahahahahahaha. Anyway, at one point, Cloud and Zack were in the Shinra Mansion basement and someone was experimenting on them (I'm not sure if it was Hojo or not). They both broke out of their and tried to get to Midgar, but before they could some Shinra guys found 'em and started pumping bullets into Zack. Cloud managed to get out of there and into Midgar where Tifa found him and he kind of took up Zack's background. Hey, that's another thing, Tifa. You know, if she realized that what he was babbling about wasn't true then she should have said something. Ahh, well when Cloud and Tifa were only little kids, Tifa wasn't as friendly with Cloud as she said. In fact, she practically flat out ignored him until one day they decided to play in the mountains. Something happened to Tifa (Damn faulty memory!)and Cloud saved her. For some reason, all those goddamn adults decided it was Cloud's fault that that happened to Tifa and were all mean to him. Also, this is very obvious but i don't remember if i mentioned it, Cloud is being controlled by Jenova a lot, like when he gave Sephiroth the black materia, and was almost forced to kill Aeris.That's all i can remember now, and maybe for a couple of months
