Q. Is it Fallout 3?
A. Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel is not designed to be a sequel. It is a
stand-alone title. Fallout 3 is a separate title that Interplay may develope in the
future.
Q. When is it set?
A. The events in Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel occur around the same time
as the events of Fallout 2.
Q. Where is it set?
A. Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel takes place in Middle America, ranging from
Chicago to Denver.
Q. What are the environments like?
A. Middle America was not spared by the nuclear exchange. Expect to see desert
wastelands, ruined cities, mountain passes, post-war dwellings, underground
caverns passages and more.
Q. Will it retain its mature rating?
A. Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel is a game aimed at a mature audience. It
contains the same adult themes as Fallout 1 and 2.

A. Yes. Characters will be able to climb on top of buildings, up stairs and ladders, or
plumb the depths of subways and subterranean caverns, all within a single game

A. Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel is a third-person isometric engine, similar to
Fallout 1 and 2. This perspective is vital in controlling your squad members in a
tactical environment.
Q. Is it Turn-Based?
A. Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel supports a Continuous Turn-Based Actions
system.
Q. What is the Continuous Turn-Based Actions System?
A. I'm glad you asked. The CTBA lets players move around at any time, but actions
like firing a gun cost their character Action Points. Action Points regenerate over
time. No more waiting for 20 rats to each take their turn.
Q. Will I be able to make my own maps?
A. There will be an unsupported editor for Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel.
Characters
Q. Who do I control?
A. The player controls the main character as the leader of a squad of Brotherhood of
Steel warriors.
Q. How many squad members will I have?
A. The squad size ranges from one to six characters, including the main character.
The player is able to choose the other five characters from a pool of a maximum of
30 characters.
Q. Can I control the squad members directly?
A. Each character is under your direct control, from the exact pieces of equipment
they use to the development of their skills.
Q. Will my squad members change their appearance when I change their armour?
A. Yes.
Q. Will I be able to play as a Ghoul?
A. In multi-player, you will be able to play as Ghouls, Super Mutants, Deathclaws
and the various other inhabitants of the wastelands.

A. Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel will include a variety of vehicles suited to
different situations.
Q. Will I be able to engage in combat while driving?
A. Yep.

Missions and Storyline
Q. What are missions?
A. The game's storyline is divided up into separate stages, each involving a variety of
tasks and encounters. Each encounter is called a mission.
Q. How many missions will there be?
A. There will be 20 core Single-Player missions, and a set of purpose-built
Multi-Player missions.
Q. How do I complete a mission?
A. Each mission will have a variety of ways in which it can be completed
successfully, from stealthy thievery to all-out war.
Combat
Q. How many different attacks will there be?
A. There are several different types of attacks, including Hand to Hand, Melee,
Blade, Spear, Thrown, Grenade, Pistol, Sub Machine Gun, Rifle, Heavy Weapon,
Min Gun, Rocket Launcher and Mines.
Q. What about setting traps?
A. There will be Traps and Demolitions skills which can be combined with certain
types of equipment to allow the player to place traps.
Q. Will time of day affect gameplay?
A. The time of day that the mission is undertaken will determine the lighting level of
each environment. Darkness means lower chances to perceive and hit your enemy.
Q. Will I be able to hide from my enemies?
A. Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel uses true line of sight. This allows your
character to hide behind objects and increase their cover.
Q. Will my characters be able to duck?
A. All the members of a squad will be able to stand upright, crouch down on one
knee, or lie prone on the ground. Each of these stances has its benefits and
drawbacks.
Q. What sort of characters will I encounter?
A. Many of the character types from Fallout 1 and 2 will be making an appearance,
as well as several new allies and enemies.
