Singleplayer and Multiplayer

Diablo offers you two ways to play this marvellous game; Single player (SP) and Multiplayer (MP). If you’ve never played Diablo before, I suggest you start with Single player. After killing Diablo in SP I suggest playing MP.
The main differences between SP and MP are that SP is easier, has the ability to save, has more quests, and in SP you can buy jewellery. MP however offers you the opportunity to play with others on Battle.net (more about this in part 2) and MP is endless. Because you can’t save in MP, the game is more exciting. When you die, you have to choose the “restart in town” option from the main menu. Then you have to get back in the dungeon, to retrieve your equipment (which lies on the ground.) Of course the monsters that killed you, are still there, so you’ll have to use some tactics to get your stuff back. (More about item retrieval in the item retrieval chapter.) Anyway, nowadays I only play MP. I’ve played (and finished) SP a loooong time ago. Because of that I don’t really feel qualified about giving tips about SP-only quests. That’s why you won’t find anything about these SP-only quests on this page. Tips about quests like the butcher and Lazarus you will find in the table of contents on the main page.
