3@34 with Odelea

Today (10-06-2001) I decided to get my third dot with Odelea the level 34 Rogue. My two other characters (Hero_Aragorn the invincible level 42 warrior, and Lord_Kilgor the level 32 Mage) already had three dots, and thus it was now time for the rogue to get the third dot.)

Level 13: Vortex lords IIRC and succubi. I only encountered three creatures before finding the stairs down.

Level 14: I saw the stairs down on the other side of the wall, and teleported to it. Out of curiosity I walked down a bit, to see what monsters would be in this level; Hellspawn. After finding that out, I went down.

Level 15: Steel Lords and Soul burners. I saw the pentagram near the stairs, and noticed I was in the South West of the level. To the North then! I encountered a few soul burners, which didn’t pose a real threat. After slaying some of these fierce witches, I encountered some Steel Lords. I walked back, and switched gear. I went melee for a little while, and killed them without any difficulty. Although Odelea is not as good in melee fight as my best warrior, I was impressed how well she battled these knights. This was fun! I went North again, and found Bloodlust. I retreated around the corner, and stone cursed her when she appeared. I still had my melee stuff equipped, and decided to cut her up. The stone curse spell wore off, but she couldn’t escape the attacks of the rogue. She got stunned and after a short while her cold soulless body hit the ground. Of course she dropped worthless shit, but hey, I’m used to it.
I went North again, and whacked some more Steel Lords and some Soulburners, switching gear from time to time. I killed everything in front of Laz’s Lair, and South of it. Now it was time to draw the two witches out. Killing them was no problem at all. I went back and managed to kill an advo before entering the Lair. I went in and out, and Laz began his speech (he didn’t do it when I lured the witches out.) Laz made a stupid move, and teleported to a spot where I could hit him, but where he only could hit an arch of the entrance. Bye bye Laz! Just a few advos and two Hellspawn left. Killing them wasn’t hard either. Down to Diablo….

Level 16: I started in front of the maze. I threw a town portal, and cast mana shield again. I switched to the melee setup, and went South, to the small Hall that connected the two big halls. I killed some Bloodknights without much problems, but I was amazed how often they got past my AC! No big problem though; I had a shield, but still! I moved to the Southern Hall, and found a whole lotta pissed of advos and some knights. Lured the knights away, and whacked them. I switched to the bow setup, and began shooting some advos. The suckers were tough! And their fireballs really hurt! Fortunately my equipment was fire proof. After going to town from time to time, I managed to kill the whole bunch.

I killed some more knights and advos around the lever room, and switched the levers. I went to town for the last time, and decided to take out the Dark Lord of Terror with my sword. I came closer to the Lair. It was too dark to see anything, and thus I stepped a bit closer. Fired some holy bolts and….. nothing! Then I used some lightning, and came a step closer. A black knight came out. He shouldn’t have done that; he quickly died. I came another step closer, because it was just to dark to see anything. Two pair of spooky red eyes lit up, and two big knights came out. One of them said: “Blood! Blood! Blood!” I advised him he should consider expanding his vocabulary, but he didn’t respond; he just swung his bastard sword. Ah well, his loss. The rogue swung her sword with great skill, and the knights were not able to offer resistance and they died after a spectacular whirlwind.

The rogue tried holy bolt again, this time one of the bolts hit the big red demon, and he came out. Odelea quickly retreated around a corner, and waited for her opponent to show up. The demon followed her, and the fight started. Odelea deliberately didn’t throw firewalls; she wanted to kill him the same way Aragorn did; just with the sword. Odelea was a great fighter, and the demon had problems hitting her. Then she stopped for a short while, giving Diablo more time to fight back, just to see how good he was. He immediately hit her pretty badly! This was no guy to play around with! She immediately began fighting again. The demon was strong, and managed to hit her a few more times, but finally he raised his arms, and his blood colored the armor of his opponent red. Diablo was defeated!

The End.
