Primary Goals:
Items of Special Interest:
1 - Cason contains several important items and specials. And they all revolve around Lord Veyrac, who is presently stoned in a house in the far Northwest corner. Stoned means turned to stone. Your first objective is to find the one thing that will remove that status, the Orladins Needle. Find Priscilla and she will give you one, and after freeing Lord Veyrac, find her at the house that she and Toni share to get another one to use to open the path to the Frozen Plains.
2 - Lord Veyrac has been waiting for you, and will give you the Ichrius Wings. If you have a strength over 50 he will teach you the special techniques for 4 Magic swords which allows you to cast special magic attacks with them. Later, if you have passed level 50, you can come back and get the Groundal Sword. There is another way to get this sword in the Dwarves Cave region. **There is one trick to these 2 specials.** If you come back to visit him AFTER you have already paid a visit to the Hill of Prayer, you will find the Grave of Lord Veyrac and not the man. So if you want these 2 specials, do not go to the Hill of Prayer until after you have visited Lord Veyrac after attaining level 50.
3 - There is a darkness over this village which is distinct. There are Log Stalkers all over the place and also Shadows all over the place that hurl Darkness attacks at you. If you listen, you will hear them when they cast at you. They can be found in force over the water where the Vaculacia Sword is kept on the island. You will need the Aquarian Boots to get it. To get to the back area to get the sword, you must approach from the behind the house farthest East (in the middle), and go through a tunnel to the north of that house.
4 - The access to the Ichrius Spring is either by using the Ichrius Wings after reviving Lord Veyrac or by going through the large building in the Northeast next to the lake.
5 - By taking the path to the long house in the far Southeast and passing through it, you will find Priscilla who has an important item to give you.
6 - Whenever you open the door to a building look for a Spectre or just fire off a fireball. They like to haunt the houses. Also, it seems to me (but I may be wrong) that if you kill off the Spectres in the houses first, then some of the ones outside disappear. If you kill off all of the ones outside first then go to the houses, the Spectres in them seem to have disappeared. It always seems that way to me but I may be mistaken.

There is an interesting effect that happens around Grave Shadows. They continuously fire the black shadow-bats at you causing the darkness effect on you. However, I have noticed that by walking close to the Grave Shadows, they tend to disappear. I have had times where I could hear the moaning from inside a house and after I walked past it, found nothing inside. It also seems they only moan when they are dissipated/killed. So I think that the greater your light power is, then the closer your proximity to them will cause them to dissipate. I do not think you gain experience for this, so I recommend ranged attacks against them as the best way to take them out. Others observations are welcome.
The Vaculacia Sword is a good sword with good striking ability and is a water based weapon. Hang on to this one. The Groundal Blade is a Special weapon for those who want to shun magic. When used with all the Groundal armor, you become a heavy hitting monstrosity, but are VERY subject to magic attacks. Still, it is worth obtaining if only for the novelty. And it is easier than the other way of getting it (See the Dwarf Cave region).
Once you have finished here, I would now head to either the Ruins of the High Elves or to the Dwarves Cave. My preference is the Dwarves Cave.
