This area is different from the review section because this section shows common strategies for stracraft used in melee maps.
Note that if you don't have to do exactly what it says to do in a strategy; you can add extra things. If the strategy doesn't work correctly use a different one.

Common Strategies

Da Zerg...
Well...if people say that zerg are not that expensive to buy...THEY'RE WRONG...individually a zergling compared with a marine and zealot and as well as other zerg units makes the Zerg the cheapest..but not overall. If the strategy guides say that gas is most importamt for toss...they're really wrong. The zerg require the most money - in most cases. Against computers you should use 22 devourvers with 2 overlords and the rest of the army are guardians..this army requres ALOT of gas. Against a human player it depends...against most human players you should attack with 25-30 guardians with the rest as devourvers. However if the human player uses more ground units..then use more guardians. If you don't have the expansion set...u should use a mutualisk rush. Here's two things u can try: Try to do a super mutualisk rush - don't upgrade to a Greater Spire and don't upgrade any of the mutualisk's armor and attack power. You should be able to come up with 12 mutualisk in 8 - 10 min max. Then make them attack the command center or nexus and watch how their workers run away from the attack. U see, mutualisks have this special splash damage so many workers die in 1 hit after taking some damage already. Try to do a mutualisk army - now this u should upgrade but you should come up with an army of 50 - 70 mutualisks in about 15 - 20 min max. and it's important you upgrade the attack power first since you will have massive amounts of mutualisk each doing splash damage. Another strategy with the zerg is the million hydralisk attack...the most effective approach is putting them inside the overlords and drop them on enemy lines. Though that will take too long to do and that the overlords are too expensive...some players just make the hydras attack without tranporting them. As the hydras die..keep making more so that you have u have more hydras coming as some others die. Against computers this is a great and unbeatable force - but against a human is a different story. Using this force will die especially against a Terran. Later I will explain why in the Terran strategy. Build some sunken colonies at the front of your base for defense very early since they are really strong in power and armor...later you should put lurkers in front of them for better defense and maybe putting some guardians by the sunken colonies to stop powerful units like archons or far ranging units like tanks. Build LOTS AND LOTS of workers to get minerals and always research...before you attack....unless you're doing the super mutualisk attack..u should have more than 5 hatcheries to get armies with.

Terran...
Even though they are not one of the best species I would use...they're still my favorite species to play with. Terran..I believe...needs the least amount of minerals out of all species but you should still get a lot of workers especially if you're doing the million wraith attack. Okay...here are a few ways to attack. A super wraith attack - Build 2 starports and research cloaking while building 12 wraiths in the process. They are alot more expensive to get than 12 mutualisks but the cloaking part is worth it. Just like the mutualisk attack....you should attack the command centers or hatcheries around 8 min with cloaking researched. Although they don't have splash damage....they cloak so they wouldn't die till the enemy have detectors...but you're terran. You should comsat the place for any observers and use your wraiths to kill them or attack the overlords. If enemy are terran...attack the comsat first. Killing a terran's comsat will really hurt them alot especially with a
human player.  Nuclear attack..only against computer NOT human players This may be the safest way to attack the computer without depleting too many minerals.... build 3-6 ghosts with transports and comsats ready. Then build at least 5 command centers all with a nuclear silo. Make sure ghost has cloaking researched and attack with 2 ghost at a time. The other ghosts will replace the ones that died :( As the ghosts are nuking...build nuclear silos...usually I have like 8 command centers all with nuclear silos ready. Computers are dumb so they wouldn't predict where your ghosts are. To a human player..they only have to guess where the ghosts are and kill it. Million Wraith Attack: Wraiths are weak..but their cloaking makes up for it. They are also pretty expensive. It is important to ugrade everything for it. The best way to attack is to attack as soon as possible. Against a human player you should wait till they waste their armies on your defense and then attack with your wraiths. You may use wraiths as defense as well. In some ways 20 battlecruisers are better than 60 wraiths..but against a human player a group of battle cruisers are easy to beat. So use the battlecruiser attack on computers. For Defense..... You should block your entrance with supply depots so that eeven your guys can't get out...this way computer or human will attack and get confused because they can't "get in" you can add bunkers and especially tanks (put like 12 of them) The only way that the enemy can stop this is if a human player orders their units to attack the depots only then to whatever is inside..though it would still be hard. A computer won't do anything like ..they would just stand there figuring out how to get in your base. Another way the enemy can get in is using corsairs or carriers or any air units....especially guardians. That's where your wraith army come in. Have some goliaths as well-they're stronger than u think.

The Protoss
If you think Protoss is a very good species since it is especially good against computers...you're especially wrong especially against a human player. Protoss requires the most minerals and stuff but that doesn't matter. The toss requires the most supply for a lot of units. Think about it. Although a person can build 28 carriers...there's always a counter for it. If a toss player can build 28 carriers...a terran can build 28 cruisers....and it takes less than 20 cruisers to stop 28 carriers..with their yamatos and crap. What about a thousand scout attack? They have a considerable amount of damage and shield/hitpoints... If you don't think about the cost..think about the supply. It takes 3 compared to 2 supply for a wraith or mutualisk. That is a big deal an army of wraiths will overwhelm the scouts and the wraiths also have cloaking on. The mutualisks have splash damage and with the devourvers alongside which slows the scout's rate of shooting and makes it more vulnerable for attack and damages it will 25 damage. Otherwise the hydralisks can kill scouts easily. What a strong army attack? That's pretty hard to beat..with strong dragoons or invisible dark templars. Well, Terrans block bases remember? and the tanks will hurt you a lot. Invisible wraiths will diminish your army as well. The zerg have lurkers and the guardians will kill off the ground units really really fast. Hence that's why I believe Zerg would be the best species to kill with. So what's good about them? They do have a pretty good defense. For other species..it takes many supplies and men to guard bases..the toss doesn't need too much men guarding bases because of the photon cannons. They are quicker..a bigger advantage than u think. What I suggest u do is...when u go against a Terran player...don't use archons.....cuz the EMP shockwave will kill their shields and how many HP does the archon have??? only 10HP i think. You should get dark templars and fill them in shuttles or use recall ..send them to command centers or hatcheries and watch how all the workers die in agony...hehehe..if it's a enemy terran...destroy the comsat...otherwise they are completely helpless....REALLY. A zerg player can just bring a overlord..but a terran player can't without a comsat. Have some reavers at the front of your defense..they act as tanks. I believe the best attack for the toss is the ground units attack...though they can be countered...you should attack early..that's the best way. Otherwise u should have like 12 gateways and like 8 or 12 stargates. Like Zerg....as your troops die...you will get new ones...and also.. your troops don't die for a while since they have pretty high HP. This is especially effective against zerg..if they don't use guardian army. Bring some scouts to defend against guardians. Against Terrans....you should attack early with carriers or you can use disruption web over their defense and watch your zealots and darktemplars rip up their defense alongside with dragoons without the enemy even attacking u. So Protoss does have advantages. But most would disregard the disadvantages... Protoss isn't a bad species..in fact it is good..just don't rely them too much.
