Move 430:  Another Cave

Echo moved out first with the rest of the party following a short distance behind her. The tunnel they choose to take next opened into another large cavern immediately past the intersection. The cavern appeared completely
empty; there were no apparent signs that it had been recently occupied.

With nothing revealed in a cursory examination of the area, the party gave Echo the lead again, following less than a minute behind her to try out the other unexplored passageway.

"It appears that there is more water ahead," noted Aloysius. "Most likely, an extension of the pool we
saw earlier. Perhaps we should try the passage on the left afore going straight?"

He thought for a moment. "You know, I was thinking that, assuming it isn't too tiring for her, Arachne's
ability to augment her olfactory sense would be an excellent tool to provide us with notice of some other
creature nearby." With a shrug, he added, "Just a thought."

"Hurry up!" Echo called, her voice coming from the passage to the left. "Something here! Not quaggoths!"

Jana pulled her sword and ran toward Echo's voice.

Kanon's face became a mask of concern as he heard Echo's emphatic call.  His shield and mace were away but he ran off down the tunnel clanking loudly in pursuit of Jana just the same.

Dalgaer rushed forward with his crossbow at the ready.

Azrun hurried down the tunnel with the others to see what was up.

Aloysius stood still as Jana, Kanon and Azrun moved forward.

"Rennirolas?" he asked generally. "Art thou still about?"

"That I am," Renn replied; he seemed to be moving right along with everyone.

Aloysius seemed relieved. He waited for all the other visibles to move forward before trailing along behind them at a distance of about 40 feet.

"Sounds like another 'Oh Shit' moment." Blacky commented as he followed the rest heading down the tunnel.

"What's that?" Arachne's voice asked. It was located near Aloysius, who seemed to be the only visible person who didn't charge forward at Echo's words. "What kind of moment is a --? It doesn't sound good... What do we have to hurry to see that isn't quaggoths...?"  The voice moved forward, but not at a rush. "Guess I need to go see..."
