Move 446:  Assessing the Situation

The conversation with the tiger-man seemed to be winding down as Aloysius started ignoring him and Jana gave him no indication that she wanted the spell he mentioned. The creature nodded at the information Azrun provided about Renn's disappearance, but he did not seem to have anything useful to say about it, judging by the blank look on his face. The question of what to do with the prisoner was one of the next that needed to be answered. Other pressing questions included where the party planned to rest while they waited for Blacky and Kanon to recover, and how and when they planned to go about determining what happened to their missing elven priest.

Arachne looked up from her own contemplations. "Shells, yes! Of course I can try..." she said. "Stupid of me not to think of it. Must've been preoccupied with other stuff..." She rested her chin on one kneecap and stared away into the middle distance.

The gnome came back from her own contemplative meditation. "I have good news and I have bad news," she said with a calm that most likely had resulted from the withdrawal. "The good news is that I did manage to reach Renn, so I know that he's alive. The bad news is that he doesn't seem to want to talk to me. I shall insist." She stared away again.

Aloysius cocked his head upon hearing Arachne's report. "Doesn't want to . . . .?" he mused. "Odd. But knowing Rennirolas, his reasons are good. It is most passing strange, howe'er."

Echo looked confused and upset. "That is odd." While Arachne insisted, she looked back over at the Raksasha.

"What the hell?" Jana said in response to Arachne's revelation.  "Dammit," she groused, sword still held ready should Tigger get any silly ideas, "this is just fucking great. Two men down, a prisoner and now this shit. Ask him whatinhell he thinks he's doing." Jana hmphed a few times then shifted uncomfortably, blotting blood with her sleeve.

Azrun sat quietly as Arachne tried again to contact Renn.

The gnome chuckled, "It seems likely Arachne will know what he thinks."
