The monsters here aren't as brutal as the ones in the Docks, but they can still be powerful in their own ways. The Silver Gladius is clearly the weapon to look for in this region, and you can count your blessings if a Golem is kind enough to drop a Crystal Gauntlet for you because it's the best offensive left-handed weapon in the game. Don't forget to pick up a Spiked Helm, which is considered by many players to be the best helmet in the game. It should be the best right-handed weapon that you've found so far, so replace your Rat Tail Whip with one of these. It doesn't provide as much defense or skill as a Rat Tail Whip, nor does it come with the Disease ability, but the Gladius provides about twice as much attack on average.
