Cheat Codes
On the DOS command line, type PRINCE MEGAHIT to activate cheat mode.
In version 1.3 of Prince of Persia, use PRINCE IMPROVED instead. [untested]
After cheat mode is active, use the following keys during the game:
K - Kills all enemies on screen
R - Resurrects you where you last died (must be recently)
+ - Increases your time
- - Decreases your time
N - View screen below you
U - View screen above you
H - View screen to your left
J - View screen to your right
C - Shows some co-ordinates
SHIFT - L Takes you to the next level
SHIFT - T Gives you an extra health item
SHIFT - S Heals you one health point
SHIFT - W Enables you to float when falling
SHIFT - B Blocks out non-animated objects
SHIFT - I Inverts your screen
SHIFT - C Show different co-ordinates

Other
File Replacement:
Most of the .DAT files in the game directory are for particular
game characters. The following ones can be switched, duplicated, or replaced:
FAT.DAT - the fat guard
GUARD.DAT - a guard
GUARD1.DAT - another guard
GUARD2.DAT - yet another guard
SHADOW.DAT - your Shadow
VIZIER.DAT - Jaffar
The only difference is that a character's colour is set by their location
in the game, not by the character itself. The number of health points of
the characters is also defined in this manner. For example, you could replace
GUARD.DAT with VIZIER.DAT so that the first guard you meet on Level 1 would
look like Jaffar, with the original guard's colours and health points.
Note: SKEL.DAT (the skeleton) can also be used to replace the character
graphics, but is not recommended since the game usually crashes when the
replaced character's health points run out, because a skeletion has no
health points.
Copy Protection:
There is a flaw in the game's copy protection. After you complete Level
1 in the full version, you come to a level full of potions, all labelled
with letters. You are asked to drink the potion with the letter from a
certain word on a certain line on a certain page from the game manual.
If you choose the wrong one, you lose two items of health. Therein lies
their mistake. Since you don't die completely, all you have to do is be
running in cheat mode, and keep replenishing your health until to find
the correct potion that opens the door to Level 2.
