| Luigi's Mansion The Luigi's Mansion demo could be linked to the next Mario title. Find out why in our full preview. January 26, 2001 In the middle of the Gamecube unveiling a dark Scooby Doo-esque mansion appeared. And, with a strike of lightning the camera zoomed in through the doors. Turning slowly was a shadowy figure of a man featuring a mustache, sideburns, and a hat. For a split second many thought they were finally going to see the new Mario game in action. Perhaps even the "more mature" Mario that his creator Shigeru Miyamoto touched on. We didn't see Mario, though. We saw his taller and often forgotten about brother, Luigi. Nintendo deemed this demo, "Luigi's Mansion." There's more to the story, though, as IGNcube believes this so-called demo is a prelude of what's to come. Luigi's Mansion could very well be part of a much bigger game plan -- a plan that includes Mario. |
