Shortbread 2d

 
Ingredients  
   
3lb Flour 2oz Ground Rice
2lb Margarine 1/2oz  Essence of Lemon
1lb Castor Sugar  
   
   
   
   
Oven Temp and Time Slow oven for about 30min or until pale brown
   
Method  
   
Sift the flour, mix the flour and sugar together on a board.
Then add the margarine and work it well in with the hands.
Knead the whole together for a sort time.
Roll out, divide into 24 cakes, and dust with the ground rice.
Place on greased trays, prick with docker** and bake in a slow oven
 
 
 
 
 
Production: 24 at 2d each
