Ingredients | |
1 & 1/4 lb Flour | 1/2oz Ground Ginger |
7oz Margarine | 1/2oz Bi-carbonate of Soda |
14oz Sugar Pieces | 1/4oz Mixed Spice |
6oz Treacle | 3 & 1/2oz Flour (For Dusting) |
12oz Oatmeal | 1/4oz Egg Wash |
4oz Water | |
Oven Temp and Time | Cool Oven for 25min |
Method | |
Sift the flour, ground ginger, bi-carbonate of soda and mixed spice together twice. | |
Rub the margarine and sugar together until smooth. | |
Add the treacle; then add the sifted ingredients and water, and mix together. | |
Cut into four pieces and divide each into 10 making 40 pieces in all | |
Mould the pieces round, place them on clean greased baking sheets or tins, slightly flatten, brush over with the egg wash. | |
