Ingredients  
   
1 & 1/4 lb Flour 1/2oz Ground Ginger
7oz Margarine 1/2oz Bi-carbonate of Soda
14oz Sugar Pieces 1/4oz Mixed Spice
6oz Treacle 3 & 1/2oz Flour (For Dusting)
12oz Oatmeal 1/4oz Egg Wash
  4oz Water
   
Oven Temp and Time Cool Oven for 25min
   
Method  
   
Sift the flour, ground ginger, bi-carbonate of soda and mixed spice together twice.
Rub the margarine and sugar together until smooth.
Add the treacle; then add the sifted ingredients and water, and mix together.
Cut into four pieces and divide each into 10 making 40 pieces in all
Mould the pieces round, place them on clean greased baking sheets or tins, slightly flatten, brush over with the egg wash.
 
 
 
 
 
Production: 40 at 1d each
