Bayou Wars
Gaming convention in Metarie LA , June 10-12, 2010
The Jackson Gamers ran and played in a number of games in this local gaming convention, in the former Radisson Hotel in Metarie LA - a suburb of New Orleans,
As I reacll the Jackson gamers put on seven games at this mid-sized regional gaming convention. Bill Hamilton ran a 28mm "Between the Wars" game set in China featuring US Rocket troopers, German Zeppelin troops, and a Chinese Warlord army all duelling for a party of archeologists and their dup-up treasures. Travis Melton ran two 1/2400 naval games, one, a WWII game set in the Pacific, and one set in WWI in the North Sea.
Mark Stevens ran a 28mm Sikh Wars game using the new "Black Powder" rules. Ed Sansing ran a 28mm game modern period game set in Afganistan, with the British tring to impose order and calm versus the Talliban who favored more chaos.
Jim Pitts ran a 28mm game set during the French and Indian wars amongst the forests of the New World. He used "The Sword in the Forest" which is a variant of Larry Brom's The Sword and the Flame rules.
On Saturday night, Jay Stribling ran a 20mm Ancients game using his Pharoh rides to War rules, while at the same time, Mark Stevens ran an "old school" 25mm Zulu War game using The Sword and the Flame.

The image of the gamer on the right defied identification for some time. Finally, the lack of hair coupled with his short-sighted peering down at something indicates that this is probably Jay stribling.

Another of Ken Hafter's games. The structures are all paper models. Note the "Last Chance Bordello and Gas" emporium. Here a man may have all of his needs taken care of!
