Happy Valentine's Day:

Part One

by Scarlet Breeze

(Kazuya was typing on his computer in his study. Lee had
constantly been telling him that he needed to finish his
draft on his business report, so Kazuya decided to actually
listen to him for once: anything to stop Lee's bitching, I
mean, complaining.)

Kazuya (mocking Lee): 'Mishima-sama, sign this'.
'Mishima-sama, sign that.' 'Mishima-sama, you have to write
this report because I'm an nicotine-addicted low-life that
has nothing better to do on Saturday nights except smoke
until my hair doesn't get any whiter and check papers.' Geez,
if he wants me to write these reports so damn much he oughta
do them himself...(continues muttering angrily)

Jun (sneaks into the study and goes behind Kazuya. She
playfully puts her hands over his eyes.): Guess who?

Kazuya: Hey, who turned off the damned lights?! Jin, I have
no idea how you sound so much like your mother, but I have no
time for your child's play! Go do your homework or
something--

(Kazuya takes Jun's hands off of his eyes and his eyes widen
when he sees Jun's angered statement.)

Kazuya (gulps): Um...hi Jun! Nice morning isn't it? Heh
heh...

Jun (turns away from Kazuya): I'm not Jun, remember? I'm your
naive, childish son!

Kazuya: Aw, honey...I'm sorry. It won't happen again. You
know that I could always recognize your pretty voice...

Jun (turns around again to face him and smiles): ...well,
alright. I forgive you. (throws arms around his neck) But
just because you're my husband...

Kazuya (continues typing): Glad that's settled now.

Jun (stares at him): ...is that all?

Kazuya: What do you mean? Why did you come here in the first
place?

Jun (sits on his lap): Oh, nothing in particular. Just to see
you...

Kazuya (raises a quizzical brow): ...Jun, you see me everyday
when I come home from work. (He doesn't notice it, but Jun
frowns.) Now if you will excuse me, I'm trying to type up a
report, and it's kind of difficult with you sitting on me. So
can you get off?

(Jun glares at Kazuya and then immediately gets off of his
lap, but not without punching him first.)

Kazuya (stops typing): Hey, what was that for?!

Jun: You're so insensitive, Kazuya!!!

Kazuya (stands up): What's wrong with you?! You've been
acting strangely for the past two or three weeks now. Is it
that time of the month for you or something?

Jun (clenches fists): NO!!!

Kazuya: Then what is it?

Jun: Perhaps you didn't notice, but I believe that our
relationship's doing badly for the past few months!!!

Kazuya: ...and what's that supposed to mean?

Jun (clenches fists tigher): Kazuya, we've lost the flame
that we used to have in the past! Remember? You used to be so
passionate, but now you're nothing but a thoughtless
workaholic that doesn't even recognize his own wife anymore!

Kazuya: That's not true! Remember when we celebrated our
anniversary?

Jun: You forgot.

Kazuya (sweatrop forms on back of his head): Well...how about
when we took that cruise?

Jun: We had to cancel because you had a business trip!

Kazuya (gets nervous): Um...all righty, what about that time
when we made out in the forest?

Jun: You stopped because your cell phone rang!

Kazuya: That's true...hey, where were you then? After I
finished talking, you were gone.

Jun (scowls): Because I left!! You talked for two whole hours
and you completely ignored me!

Kazuya (gives up): Okay, fine! I'm busy, but what the hell am
I supposed to do about that?

Jun: It's not about that! I'm not angry because of your job!
I'm angry because you don't show any compassion or emotion
towards me, Kazuya! I can't even remember the last time we
kissed!

Kazuya (thinks for a second, but then takes out a small
booklet): Well, we were supposed to three weeks ago, but I
crossed it out because I had papers to review. But I think I
can pencil you in sometime next Saturday. Is that better?

Jun: OH, YOU....!!!! (She turns around and stalks out of the
room angrily. Kazuya rubbed his shoulder where Jun had
punched him.)

Kazuya: I never saw her so angry before. But why did she
decided to tell me how she felt about our relationship at
this particular week? Is something going to happen?

(Kazuya resumes typing)

Kazuya: ...but what am I going to do? Jun is mad at me, and
knowing her, she'll probably stay that way for the next month
or so unless I do something...

(The next morning, Jin is eating some cereal)

Jin: Wonder if we got any mail today? Hey Kuma!!!

(The big bear strolls right in. Surprisingly, he has glitter
and scraps of paper pasted onto his face.)

Jin: Whoa. What were you trying to do, Kuma?

(Jin spots a piece of paper messily cut into what seemed to
be a heart shape in Kuma's mouth. He could barely make out
the words 'I luv u' on it.)

Jin: Oh. You were trying to make a valentine for Panda, huh?

(Kuma nods his head.)

Jin: Jeez, it's a mess.

(Kuma bows his head low.)

Jin: Aw, I didn't mean it. Hey, I'll tell you what: I'll help
you make your valentine after I come home from school. How
'bout it?

(Kuma jumps on Jin and starts licking his face.)

Jin: Aw man! Hey, get down! I don't need to smell like drool
when I go to school!

(Kuma obeys but his eyes shine with gratitude at Jin.)

Jin: Hey, could you go get the mail? And this time, don't
chase the mailman. The last one had to stay in the hospital
for three weeks.

(Again, Kuma obeys and leaves the dining room. He comes back
shortly with a stack of mail in his mouth.)

Jin: Good job, Kuma. I didn't hear any screaming this time.
(Takes the mail out of Kuma's mouth.)

Jin: Still, your drool is always an issue. (He wipes saliva
off of a few letters that were actually readable.) Junk,
junk, bill, bill, bill, junk, business, valentine...huh?

(Jin holds a nicely done card shaped like a heart with lace
frilled at the sides and the words done in glitter.)

Jin: Hey...my name is on the front of this thing...(opens the
card and reads the inside.)

'I have been watching you from afar and have without a
doubt fallen in love with you. You have captured my heart
completely, and now I must tell you this beloved: meet me at
the city park nearby the lake this Valentine's Day at 8 o'
clock. I will be the one with a red rose in my hair. I will
be waiting for you...

  Signed,

Your Secret Admirer'

Jin: ...this is kind of weird.  I wasn't really expecting
anything like this to pop up.  But I am kind of curious...

(Kazuya walks in the dining room and sits at the table. He
starts to read a newspaper.)

Kazuya: Did we get any mail today?

Jin: Yeah. It's right next to you.

(Kazuya picks up the mail, but drops in immediately in
disgust when he found that Kuma's drool was all over it.)

Kazuya: Kuma, you stupid bear! Jin, why don't you ever get
off your lazy ass and get the mail yourself? At least I can
count on you not to slobber all over it!

Jin: But Kuma likes getting the mail. It's one of his chores.

Kazuya: Before he came here, it was your chore! Now that dumb
animal does everything that you're supposed to do: clear the
table, wash the windows, clean your room--

Jin: He just helps me. And don't call him dumb!  He keeps
getting lost whenever he follows Grandpa on one of his
trips. Kuma just wants to thank us for brining him in, that's
all.

Kazuya: You mean when your mother brought him in. I
swear, whenever she sees a lost or wounded animal she takes
care of it as if it were a human baby or something. Of all
the women in the world, I had to marry a WWWC officer...

Jun (calls from the courtyard): I heard that, Kazuya Mishima!

Kazuya: And that little temper of hers came along with her,
too...

(Jun comes in from the courtyard.  Kazuya and Jin can both
see that she has gardening gloves all covered in soil.)

Jin: Working on your garden again, Mom?

Jun: Yes. I'm hoping to put in the tiger lilies today. Hello,
Kuma. I see you got lost again, haven't you?

(Kuma nods. Jun pets his head.)

Jun: Heihachi out to put a leash on you. (She sits down and
takes off her gloves. She begins to drink some tea. Kazuya is
so confused from yesterday's argument with Jun that he
doesn't even make eye contact with her.)

Jun: What's that in your hand Jin? Is that a card or
something?

Jin: Um, yeah. It's a valeninte.

Jun: Really? How nice. Who gave it to you? Is it Michelle's
daughter? Or is it that hyper little girl with the pig tails?

Jin: Um, I dunno. It just says 'Secret Admirer', and whoever
made it for me wants me to meet them this weekend for
Valentine's Day.

(Kazuya's head jerks at the words 'Valentine's Day'. He
realized that it was about five days away, and knows now why
Jun had argued with him yesterday.)

Kazuya (thinks to himself): So that's why! Why'd she wait now
to tell me? Geez, I'm gonna be in hot water if I don't do
something...

Jin: Hey Dad, something the matter?

Kazuya (shakes his head): None of your damn business! Now get
your ass out of the door and go to school before you're late!

Jin (leaves immediately): Man Dad, what side of the bed did
you get up on?! (shuts door.)

Jun (watches out of the window as Jin leaves and whirls back
at Kazuya): Why do you always have to be so strict on him? He
only asked if something was the matter!

Kazuya: Someone's got to discipline the boy! You're not doing
it obviously.

Jun (puts hands on her hips): Well I'm sorry, but just
yelling at him isn't going to work, either!

Kazuya: How would you know? You forgive him for anything he
does!

Jun: That's because he never does anything wrong!

Kazuya: And? My father always yelled at me constantly when I
was a kid for practically being born, and look at me now!

Jun (stalks away from him and starts boiling some coffee):
Hmph, you don't even understand what you're saying.

Kazuya: Look, if you're angry because I've been very busy, I
can't help that!

Jun: Oh, but you can't afford a second to kiss me good-bye
whenvever you go to work? You don't have time to walk with me
for even 10 minutes in the woods? And you can't sacrifice a
minute to say something more than just 'good night' either
when we go to bed?!

Kazuya: Do you want me to say 'pleasant dreams' then?

(Jun is so angry that if she was any madder, she'd start
boiling like the coffee pot)

Jun: I can't BELIEVE YOU!!! You don't care about anyone else
other than yourself!

Kazuya: I do not!

Jun: You always think you're right, don't you?! You always
just have to get your point across through everyone's minds!
And if they happen to refuse to believe you, you just have to
bash their heads in all the time to prove that you THINK
you're right!!

Kazuya: ...um, well I...(looks at Kuma, but the bear is
ignoring the arguing couple and just shrugs)

Kazuya: Well, so?! (talk about a lame excuse)

(Jun's fists are clenched tightly, but she suprisingly calms
down.)

Jun (turns away from Kazuya): I don't feel like arguing
anymore.

Kazuya: Fine.

Jun: Fine.

Kazuya: I was getting pretty sick of it, too.

Jun: Fine.

Kazuya: Fine.

Jun: Fine.

Kazuya (scratches his head): So I guess this means we won't
be making out for some time, huh?

Jun: ...yes.

Kazuya: Well then, fine!

Jun: Hmph, fine.

Kazuya: ...you know that I was just asking out of curiosity,
right? I mean, you know that I could handle not _kissing_ and
_hugging_ you for a long time...right?

Jun: I'm sure you can, Kazuya. It's fine with me.

Kazuya (stammers): W-well...does this mean that I--I mean,
you...I mean, we--can't do that...other thing we do?

Jun: Whatever do you mean?

Kazuya: Y--you know, Jun...that 'thing' we do in bed???

Jun: You mean sex?

Kazuya: Y-yeah!

Jun: Oh...Kazuya, would you like some coffee?

Kazuya: Y-yes! I'll just have it with about three cubes of
sugar and a little milk.

Jun: All right.

(Jun pours coffee into a mug and walks towards Kazuya with a
small carton of milk in her hand. She smiles somewhat
pleasantly, and dumps the coffee onto Kazuya's head. She then
dumps the whole carton of milk onto his soaked hair along
with it.)

Kazuya: ...

Jun: Oh, silly me! I forgot your sugar. (walks over to the
counter and takes sugar cubes from a small container)

Jun (drops the cubes on Kazuya's head): One, two, three!
There you go, honey.

(Kazuya's mouth twitches as he feels the warm coffee and milk
drip from his soggy hair onto the small of his back slowly.
Kuma starts licking up the drops of coffee as they dropped
from Kazuya's oh-so-expensive purple suit.)

Kazuya: ...thank you, dear. So...I guess the answer is 'no',
huh?

Jun: Not a chance. Well, have a good day at work, sweetie!
(starts to leave)

Jun: Although you might want to change, first! I think
there's a couple more of those suits that you always wear in
the bedroom! Oh, and I bought a few more cans of hair spray!
They're in the bathroom!

(Kuma starts licking the sticky coffee on Kazuya's hand. He
glares at him.)

Kazuya: Get...away...from...me...

(Kuma notices the look in his second master's eyes, and
cowers. He immediately runs on all fours into the courtyard
as Kazuya is still standing still, feeling the now lukewarm
coffee running unfortunately down along his pantleg.)

(The door opens and Jin comes into the dining room.)

Jin: Sorry, I forgot my-- (he looks up and realizes that his
expressionless father is wearing his favorite breakfast
beverage in his hair and on his suit.)

Jin: ...whoa, so I guess Mom is mad?

Kazuya: ...

Jin: I'll take that as a 'yes'. Well, see ya Dad! (picks up
his book from the table and rushes out of the door)

Kazuya: ...and I thought getting thrown off a cliff was
bad...

Narrator: And so ends the first part of this tale.

The near future can not be found in the past.

Will Kazuya win back Jun, or will he fail,

And is he bound to end up in a body cast?

Has some star-strucked girl found true love in
          young Jin?

Or is it just trickery, plain and crude?

You will found out later if it really is romance,

Or some joke devised by a certain
          red-headed...uh...dude.
