Chapter 3 New Beginnings

Lee stood in the shadows. Watching as Kazuya caught Jun as she fainted. Smiling he gazed at the others. They all looked stunned. Disbelief was plainly written across their faces.
"Kazuya." Michelle started, "Lee. You are both alive." Michelle looked at the brothers. Kazuya looked at Michelle. Smiling faintly at the Indian woman.
"Are you going to invite us in?" Kazuya asked. Raising an eyebrow at her.
"Yes of course. How rude of me." Michelle answered. "Come in. Be welcome into my home. Even though it seems strange to me. To be inviting you both into it."
"I know." Kazuya stated. "Too much bad blood is between us. Bad blood caused by lust for power." He glanced at her. "I hope you can forgive me of my trespasses. I am sorry Michelle. Though it has come to me so late." He looks down at Jun. "All this. All of this is because of her, my angel." Squeezing Jun to him. "She helped me to see. See my darkness. I have come to terms with it. It is not gone. But it slumbers. She made this possible. She was never afraid of me. She stood up to me. Her quite strength amazed me."
They all went into the cabin. It felt full. Jun sighed. Then stirred. Opening her eyes. She looked at Kazuya. She reached up to touch his face. Feeling his jawline. Her fingers traced his face.
"Kazuya." Jun said. "You are real. It was not a dream seeing you again." She smiled. "Have you meet Jin yet?" Kazuya shook his head negatively. "Jin come over here." Jin walked over. Not sure of this man. Who he bore such a resemblance too. "Jin this is your Father." She motioned to the man who's lap she was occupying. "Kazuya this is you son, Jin."
"My son." Kazuya said stunned. He really looked at the young man standing before him. He thought he might have been looking at a younger version of himself.
"My Father." Jin said in stunned disbelief. He looked at his Mother. "He is my father. My Father is alive." Jin did not know weather he was happy or angry.
Jun did not give him time to think to long about it.
"Jin." Capturing her son's attention once more. "This is your Uncle Lee." Motioning to the silver-haired man standing half concealed by shadow. He smiled at Jin. Lee looked at everyone. He picked up his briefcase. Taking it to the table. He set it there. Opening it. He shuffled through his paperwork. He took out some documents.
He cleared his throat. "I was going through some paperwork. Like Kazuya asked me too. When I stumbled over something. It concerns you Michelle." Michelle looked at Lee. "Don't interrupt me yet. Save your questions. You might find them answered." He held his hand up forestalling her questions."What do you remember of the year before you found Julia?" He looked at her waiting for her answer.
She shook her head.
"I am not sure. It is so hazy." she answered him. "Why?"
Lee looked at her. Nodding to himself. "Just as I thought." He said quietly.
"What do you mean. 'Just as you thought'" interrupt Julia hearing his light spoken words.
"Settle down Julia." Baek soothed the young woman. "I am sure he has a reason for these questions. Don't you Lee?" He looked at Lee sternly.
"Yes. I do. It is detailed in these papers." He handed them to Michelle. He sighed rubbing his forehead. "Michelle lost a whole year of her life. It was erased. Heihcahi ordered it. He wanted the son. That he thought Michelle was carrying." He paused. A shocked silence fell. "He wanted Baek Doo San's son." Looking at Baek. "But what he got instead was his daughter. Which he did not want. So he left the infant in some ruins. Near the Navajo village. Knowing that Michelle would find the child." He looked at Michelle and Baek. "Knowing that Michelle would raise her daughter. None the wiser that it was her flesh and blood." He stopped. Looking drained he sat down in a chair. Kazuya looked at his brother.
"So that is what you were up to." Kazuya asked him.
"Kazuya. I just wanted to make the wrong things right." He considered Michelle and Baek. "They deserve the truth. Not the lies. No more lies my brother. No more. Our family has spun enough of them."
Baek looked between the brothers. In shock.
"You mean to tell me that Julia is my daughter." He asked Lee. Looking at the young woman in question.
"Yes she is." Lee answered simply.
Julia looked at Beak. Then her gaze rested on her mother.
Hwoarang cleared his throat. Everyone looked at him.
"I suppose this means. That I am the odd one here." Hwoarang stated. Feeling dejected. Looking down. Everyone had someone to call their own. A family. He did not. A hand gripped his shoulder. He looked up. Beak was looking at him.
"You are my son." He stated simply, "No one can change that." He squeezed Hwoarang's shoulder. "I raised you as my son. No one can take that from you. Now your family has grown. You have a sister." He glanced at Julia and smiled. "Who does not know how to react to you either." He paused looking at Julia. 'She does not even know how to react to me. You can learn together. That is if Michelle wants us to." He looks at Michelle. She looks at him. "It is your call."
Michelle looked at Baek. Knowing pride is what kept them apart so long. Pride and fear.
"Yes." She said. "I think we should try." She looked at Julia and Hwoarang. Then Baek. "I don't want to be alone." She walked over to were Baek was standing. Put both hand on his shoulders. "That is if you will have me and Julia."
"What do you think Hwoarang?" Baek asked his son.
"Go for it Dad." Hwoarang said. The words sounded so warm to him. He wished he had said them sooner. "It is your life. I don't want you to be lonely. You need someone. Someone who is strong like you. Who loves you. Who will always be there." He admired his father and Michelle. "I would be proud to call you Mother, Michelle. If you will let me."
"Yes."She said with a grin. "I would like that. Thank you Hwoarang."
Julia watched them. She hugged her Mother and Baek. Then admired at them.
"Could I call you Father? Beak please." Julia asked.
"Yes." Baek said with tears in his voice. "Of course you can." He hugged her. And snagged Hwoarang into his embrace. Michelle joined in the group hug. They stood there. Seemly timeless.
"I feel Whole." Michelle stated. Feeling very happy.
"I do too."answered Baek. "It has been too long."
Lee stood to the side watching the happy family reunions. Feeling left out. Jun and Kazuya were just staring at each other. Michelle, Baek, Hwoarang and Julia looked as if no one existed except themselves. He realized Jin was standing forlornly to one side.
"Feeling left out?" Lee asked Jin. "I know I am." He smiled slightly. Running his fingers through his silver hair. Jin looked startled. Then he smiled at his Uncle.
"Yeah." Jin said. Laughing a little. Jin and Lee enjoyed a moment to themselves.
"Well Michelle." Lee said to her. Caching her notice. Michelle looked startled. Her mind pulled back. She considered at Lee. Thinking. She sighed.
"Where are Kazuya and I?"
Kazuya looked up at his brother. "All right just me going to sleep?"
