12 noon, Harajuku. Lee leant against the side of a shop wall, smoking
another menthol flavoured carcinogenic paper tube. He took a deep drag, sucking
in the dark black fumes and then blew them back out again. He coughed, and then
sighed.
"Where the hell are they?" he muttered through clenched teeth,
frustrated.
That's when he noticed someone across the street walking up to him. He took one
last drag from his cigarette and then threw it away. The 'someone' was a young
man, not too much younger then he, with long black hair and Chinese attributes.
The 'someone' walked up beside him and leant against the wall next to him.
"Are you from Interpol?" Lee asked
"Yes," the man replied in a thick Cantonese accent, "I'm
Detective Lei Wulong from the Hong Kong branch."
They shook hands.
"So, I hear you have some information on the Zaibatsu." Lei mentioned,
"Care to share?"
"Hmm, I'll think I'll wait a bit first." Lee replied, "There is
supposed to be another person joining us."
"You're not trying to pull anything are you?" the Chinese cop asked,
suspicious of any ulterior motives his 'accomplice' may have
"Nah, nah." Lee replied, "I also got WWWC involved in this."
"WWWC?"
"Yep. The Zaibatsu's dealings will interest them as well"
Lee looked through the masses of the people, wandering in and out of various
shops. Many buying the latest best-selling games console, the Playstation. Lee
checked their sales and saw that this year had been it's most successful in
sales. Sega and Nintendo would have to come up with some pretty good consoles
after this year or Sony would be free to dominate the market.
Lee coughed as Lei sighed and looked at his watch. That's when he noticed a
woman, Japanese, slim figure, white headband in hair, walking towards him.
'A woman?' Lee thought, 'What a turn-up for the books'
"Excuse me, but are you the Zaibatsu informant?" she asked politely
"Yeah, that's me," he replied, "and this is Lei Wulong from
Interpol"
"Pleased to meet both of you," she greeted, "I'm Jun, Kazama
Jun"
"Well, pleased to meet you Ms Jun," Lee replied, "Now, let's get
down to business shall we?"
Lee told them most of what he knew, but yet that was still very little. It
was part of his plan. Hint them on what's going on, give them the tournament
invites and then cover up his tracks before anyone can find the necessary dirty
mark that would get him 'terminated', and with his severance pay being a quick
trip into the next life!
"…and that's it, all I know." He concluded
"How horrible!" Jun gasped
"Why are you telling us all this?" Lei asked
"Why else? To bring down the Zaibatsu." He insisted
"Hmm, what are your reasons to do so?" the cop continued his
questionings, as if he was an interrogator
"Because the Zaibatsu hasn't been at it's most vulnerable until now."
Lee answered and produced the invites, giving one to Lei and another to Jun.
"These are invites to the King Of Iron Fist Tournament 2," he
explained, "Other invites are already being sent out to every other
world-class fighter on the planet."
"I'm guessing these invites are a cover for us to get into the building
without suspicion." Jun suggested
"Clever girl," Lee said with a smile, "Though it isn't going to
be a picnic. You'll have to fight and win to keep up your stay in the Zaibatsu.
If you're beaten, you're only allowed to stay for 2 more days until you get
thrown out."
Lei raised a suspicious eyebrow. This man before him seemed to know quite a lot
about the Mishima Zaibatsu, as if his silvery-grey hair wasn't strange enough.
'This looks like I'm onto something pretty big,' he thought, 'and with such
information on the Mafia, maybe I'm going to uncover more then I bargained for'.
Lee looked at his watch. 10 minutes had passed, meaning his lunch break was now
over.
"I've got to go now," Lee excused as he took his back off from the
wall, "I have other businesses to attend to."
"Other businesses?" pondered Jun
"My job." Lee explained, "This was my lunch break"
On saying that, the man vanished into the crowd, leaving the Interpol detective
and WWWC operative together.
