The Loremaster
Loremasters are spellcasters who concentrate on knowledge, valuing lore and secrets over gold. They uncover secrets that they then use to better themselves mentally, physically, and spiritually. Loremasters sometimes gather in secluded cabals but are more likely to be located as an order attached to a university, a library, or some other source of information.
Requirements:
- Must be a Level 6
- Must be a Sorcerer or a Wizard
You Will Receive:
- An advanced spellbook
- A Cloak of Protection (20% soak, -0% evade) If a cancel magic spell is used then the cloak loses its soak until the spell is used up.
Loremaster Special Abilities:
- Crushing Hand- Once per day a Loremaster may make a giant hand appear from nowhere and deal 3d6 crushing damage to a single person or creature. Evadable
- Earthquake- Once per day a Loremaster can cause upheaval in the very ground causing everything within a 100 foor radius to make a Dexterity save or lose 5% to their hit and evade for 1d6 rounds. (Earthquake also causes cave-ins, buildings to collapse, the ground may raise up or open up nto large fissures.)
- Ethereal Jaunt- The Loremaster becomes ethereal, along with equipment. (See the Ethereal Plane page to understand fully) He/she is in a place called the Ethereal Plane, which overlaps the physical, material plane.
A loremaster may also take others to the Ethereal plane by joining hands. 1 person per 3 levels can be taken. Example- a Level 6 loremaster can take 2 people with him/her to the ethereal plane.)
Once Ethereal, characters no longer need to be joined by hands. Being Ethereal lasts 1d10 rounds.
- Gate- Creating a Gate causes an interdimensional connection between your plane of existance, and the plane desired. The gate inself is a circular hoop or disk from 5 to 20 feet in diameter. (Casters choice) The caster can open a gate to anywhere in the physical plane that he/she has physically been to at least once in their lives.
- Slow- Once per day a loremaster may use this to make an effected creature move and attack at a drastically slow rate. Slowing lasts for 1d8 rounds.
Example- A person affected with only single attacks can only attack every other round. And a person with duel attacking ability can only attack once per round.
- Telepathy- A loremaster has the ability to read ones thoughts but the person being read must fail an Intelligence check for the loremaster to be successful.
