SYPHON FILTER WALKTHROUGH
MISSION ONE: Georgia Street
LOCATION: Washington DC: Georgia Street
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
AGENCY DIRECTIVE: Our FBI informant has pinpointed the terrorist viral attack in the DC subway system. Our contacts within US Defense and Interpol confirm the identities of the terrorists. We will drop you in after CBDC (US Army Chemical and Biological Defense Command) operations begin.
Your targets are Rhoemer, Kravitch, Aramov and Girdeux. SATCOM has intercepted coded microwave traffic. Rhoemer must have an uplink station in the area. Assist CBDC if needed. Avoid collateral casualties if possible. Check your objectives onsite for more information.
You start in the city streets with Silenced 9mm, Sniper Rifle, Taser, and a Flashlight. Some CBDC agents are taking on terrorists around the corner. Go around the corner and help them out for a bit. HINT: use your Taser to shoot the bad guys and stock up on the 9mm ammo they leave behind - if a CBDC agent is killed he leaves behind M-16 ammo. The terrorists jump down from the red brick wall at the end of the street after you come around the corner. Just crouch in the street, use R1 to lock onto targets and blast or zap them as they come over the wall. There's about 7 or 8 terrorists all together although the CBDC agents may take out the first one or two. After you are done there are two ways you can go: 1) down the ramp on the left you probably already noticed; or 2) back down the street past the burning police car.
1) DOWN THE RAMP
As you go down the ramp a couple of terrorists try to distract you by attacking the CBDC agents by the burning police car. Just ignore them for now and go on down the ramp. It is dark down here (and maybe a bit scary!!), so equip your flashlight and take a look around. HINT: the square button turns the flashlight on and off. There is an Ammo Box in one of the corners that has a Flak Jacket inside.
NOTE: The Ammo Box is one of the keys to unlocking the potential of Syphon Filter. In these boxes you will find a myriad of treasures throughout the game, from new weapons for your inventory to ammo for existing weapons in your inventory to flak jackets for refilling your armor to specialized tools you will need to complete your missions. In addition, throughout the walkthrough, I will bring your attention to an Ammo Box, as well as a need to change weapons, when you complete an Objective or reach a Checkpoint just as I have done here - by placing the important item or task in Bold. And now back to the walkthrough.
At a locked gate, press triangle to contact Lian and get an extra objective - "Turn off power to terminal security doors." Didn't Lian mention something about an elevator? Hmmm. Nothing to do but go back up to the city streets. When you come back up help the CBDC agents with the bad guys you ignored earlier. Now you have a third option: 3) Find and eliminate Kravitch and turn off the power. But let's get back to number two.
2) PAST THE BURNING POLICE CAR
Go back past the burning police car, around the corner (to the left) and take the first alley on the left. Heck it's the only alley on the left and the only way to go in this direction. Go through the alley until you reach a police car. Move forward with caution; you may encounter a terrorist on top of the building across the street. Use auto aim (R1) and the weapon of your choice (believe it or not the Taser still kicks butt) to take care of him. Now sneak to the back of the police car and look up at the building on the right side of the street. Snipe the bad guy there. As you round the corner to the left, there are some more CBDC agents in a firefight. Help them out by killing one or both of the terrorists - once again the Taser is a decent choice. Pick up the M-16 and 9mm ammo that gets left behind. Now run through the glass of the building next to you (the one behind the terrorists) - oops, you can always just go through the section that is already open. Either way you enter the building. Just a short way inside you will find an Ammo Box with a Flak Jacket inside. Continue forward and press triangle to contact Lian - you must protect the CBDC agents inside the building. NOTE: You don't have to contact Lian if you come here last. In the room with a bunch of pillars you must protect an agent as he disarms a bomb. Move around quickly and blast about three, four or even five terrorists to complete the Objective and get a Checkpoint. Before you leave go to the back of this room and find an Ammo Box with an M-16 inside, fully loaded and ready to rock and roll. Equip your Flashlight and look in the dark room at the very back to find an Ammo Box with Grenades inside. Now go back out the way you came in. At the entrance to the building, snipers on the roof of the building across the street open fire. Hide behind the wall beside the broken glass the snipers shoot out and Sneak and Snipe the snipers.
NOTE: Check out the Tips and Strategies section for more info about "Sneak and Snipe."
Hide behind the "for lease" sign to Sneak and Snipe them. There are three all together but you might get lucky - CBDC agents will occasionally take care of one sniper for you. As you leave the building another sniper appears way down the street on the roof of another building. Snipe him from behind the column in front of the building as you leave.
NOTE: There's about three or four snipers all together - they may also just keep coming - some equipped with 9mm and some with M-16. You run into two more on the building to the right as you approach the police car by the alley. You may be just as well off to run for it through this gauntlet back to the alley, dodging bullets all the way.
Make your way back to where you started from by the burning police car. Kill about three or four more bad guys that come over the red brick wall at the end of the street, just like before. Now it's time for option number three.
3) FIND AND ELIMINATE KRAVITCH AND TURN OFF THE POWER
Look for a place on the left side of the street called "The Place." It has glass doors and an awning. JFKAG: Shoot the bottles and the windows with your Taser. NOTE: You should be back on the street around the corner from where you first started the game - the one with the red brick wall at the end. Sneak towards the back until you see a box. Around the corner are a couple more boxes blocking a doorway - a bad guy runs around inside. Just crouch, sneak to the front of the boxes, and casually take a head shot when he pops into view - he never suspects a thing and you are never in any danger. Now you have two ways to explore: A) Behind the boxes, or B) On down the hall.
A) Behind the boxes
Climb over the boxes. Pick up the M-16 the dead terrorist left behind and then shoot out the window. Climb through and go left. Hit the triangle button to contact Lian, then go on. Note the fence to the right with the no trespassing sign on it. You will come back to it a bit later. For now, climb over the gray box and equip the Taser (or the M-16 or the Sniper Rifle). When you come around the corner you see two burning police cars. CBDC agents are on the roof and the terrorists are behind the cars. Use your Taser or whatever you have equipped to take them out quickly. Don't miss the Ammo Boxes nearby, one with Sniper Rifle and the other with Flak Jacket inside. Go back to the fence with the "No Trespassing" sign. Shoot the lock to open the gate and go inside. Press triangle at the elevator call switch. Stand on the elevator and press triangle to ride it down. When you reach the area below, press triangle to call Lian, then go right to find Power Switch (use your Flashlight to help you find it). Press triangle to activate the switch then ride the elevator back up. Be ready - a bad guy is at the top waiting for you. Equip M-16 or Taser and blast him as soon as you reach the top. Climb back through the window and another bad guy is waiting for you in the hall on the other side of the boxes. Sneak and Snipe him then continue. Go right to exit or left to go on down the hall.
B) On down the hall
Continue down the hall - press triangle to contact Lian. She's picking up signals that Kravitch is near. Equip the Sniper Rifle. Creep past the table, barely peak around the next corner (be sure to stay crouched) and aim over the top of the table. You should be able to see Kravitch and take him out quickly with a head shot. If he sees you peak around the corner or if you just rush in he will start running around like a madman - he has a Flak Jacket and is hard to take out once he starts moving but you can wait until he runs behind the counter again and get him just the same. When you get him enter the room. Immediately run behind the counter where Kravitch was hiding and three terrorists enter the room - two with M-16 and one with 9mm. Sneak and Snipe them from behind the counter - at least one of them may try to come behind the counter with you. Don't forget to destroy the Communications Array in the other corner before you leave - you complete the Objective and get a Checkpoint. Also don't miss the Ammo Box with a Shotgun inside behind the counter.
JFKAG: Use the Taser to shoot the glass and the bottles.
Go back (get anything you might have missed) to the entrance. When you return to the street about four more bad guys come over the red brick wall. Now you are ready to go down to the subway below.
THE SUBWAY
As you go down the ramp the CBDC agents are attacked (just like before if you came down when the door was locked). Just ignore them and go on. Equip the M-16. Go to where the locked security terminal was - it is now open. Go down carefully. Press triangle to contact Lian and then continue. There are plenty of bad guys at the bottom. Use auto aim (the R1 button) and take them out quickly. Two come from in front of you, one from the right, and one in the booth just to your right - shoot him through the glass as you come around the corner there. On the ledge to your left across the subway tracks is the viral bomb Lian called you about. For now stay in the middle section and go forward on the left hand side. A bad guy will run toward you from the ledge on the left side. Get him and then take the first right. Another terrorist is on the opposite ledge. Get him and another bad guy comes around the corner. Take him out and then go back towards where you came in on this side to find an Ammo Box with M-16 inside. Go to the viral bomb and press triangle to tag it and get a Checkpoint.
Note: Be careful of the subway trains - better to be safe than sorry as you may have to start over from the last checkpoint.
After you tag the bomb, go back to the middle section. Switch to the Shotgun. Continue down the left hand side of the middle section. Two guys attack from behind, then one on the ledge across the tracks, then another from behind (or you may get one from behind, two in front and one around the corner). Blast them quickly. Continue and go right. There is a bad guy just around this corner. Get him and then circle around and continue down the left hand side. Nothing down the left side. On the other (right) side is an Ammo Box with Flak Jacket inside. If you go over the tracks to the right ledge you get a bad guy on the ledge and another from the middle section. Get them quickly. On the right side you will find an entrance. Go inside. Go down the hall past the sparking wire. When you get to an Ammo Box with Flak Jacket inside two guys attack from behind and two from the front. Get them quickly (M-16 seems to work well) and take the flak jacket if you need it. Continue past another sparking wire. When you get to the ledge across the pathway two bad guys come from the other side. Just crouch (x-button) behind the ledge and take them out with head shots. Behind them in the darkness you will find an elevator. This is a great way to sneak downstairs and take the bad guys by surprise.
NOTE: In the main corridor, you could go downstairs using the open doorway with the exit sign above it but this takes you to a locked door at the bottom of the stairs and into the middle of a firestorm of gunfire and bad guys - it's better to take the elevator.
Use the elevator call switch, then ride the elevator down. You are in a room with red lighting. When you are prompted, press Triangle to call Lian. She has found Rhoemer. Sneak around the corner and use the cover of the next subway train to kill the bad guy with his back to you (or use the silenced 9mm to do it quietly with a head shot). Move towards Rhoemer. Almost immediately to your right is a bad guy. He should have not detected you yet. Get him with a headshot. However, there is another bad guy there with him. If you can't see him yet, move across the tracks - he starts shooting at you - and get him from this position. Climb up off the tracks onto the middle section. Move towards Rhoemer on the left hand side of the middle. There is one bad guy ahead at the first right. There is nothing else on the left or right side of the middle. Continue forward on the left side of the middle. At the sparking wire is another bad guy, and another is on the other side. Make your move to the right side of the middle - DO NOT CONTINUE FORWARD ON THE LEFT SIDE AS IT IS BOOBY-TRAPPED. Continue forward on the right side. Creep ahead carefully. Get one guy by the exit sign with a head shot. Go to the bomb. An FMV follows. OH NO, it's not a viral bomb, it's a high explosive bomb. You make a mad dash as an explosion tears the subway apart. You have completed the first mission and it's time to save.
MISSION TWO: Destroyed Subway
LOCATION: Washington DC: Destroyed Subway
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM BENTON: You're lucky to be alive. Ten square blocks of Downtown D.C. just sank 20 feet into the ground. It looks like Rhoemer had the entire subway wired to explode as part of his escape plan.
It's likely you've cut his timetable short, and that he's still down there with you. Aramov and Girdeux also remain unaccounted for. Don't let Rhoemer escape that terminal, and be aware that you're now completely cut off from all reinforcements.
You start on one of the ledges in the now demolished subway. Go right along the ledge carefully. At the end of the ledge, use your flashlight to find an Ammo Box with a Flak Jacket inside - use it if you need it. Be careful near the flames - it's game over if you get burned. Turn left and jump down. Go to the other side and climb up. Go left between the wall and the subway train. When you hear the screams, stop and watch for the man ahead of you who comes running at you, his body engulfed in flames. You can shoot him to stop him or simply save your ammo and just back off a few steps until he drops dead in front of you. Either way, when the flames die off move ahead. Continue to go forward. Around the right hand corner are two bad guys - one is just behind the divider at the corner and the other jumps off the crashed train. The good news is they are easy to get; the bad news is there is no way upstairs here. Hmmm ... but if the bad guys can climb onto subway trains, maybe you can too. Jump down, go across and climb up. Turn immediately right and jump up onto the subway train (use Triangle to jump up, then use the up direction to pull yourself up). Walk along to contact Lian and get a new objective. Continue forward and climb down into the area on the left. Stay on the ledge to the left. To the right are three bad guys. One in the back lobs grenades at you and wears a flak jacket. Get the two in front quickly. Stay on the ledge so the guy in back won't lob grenades at you. Get him with a headshot. Now you can jump down into the lower section where the track is. Creep forward. When you get to the end a bad guy appears on your radar. He is on a ledge above you behind the flames. Get him (or you can wait - I think it's better to get him here) then equip the flashlight. Don't miss the Ammo Box with C4 Explosives nearby for a Checkpoint. Now go back and climb up where the three bad guys were. Continue around the corner. At the end is a large red crate on the floor. Look up and you can see various ledges and outcroppings to jump up to. If you waited to get the guy at the C4 Explosives you should go ahead and get him here. Carefully climb onto the left end of the crate. Now turn around and press Triangle to jump up. A bad guy appears below. You can get him or ignore him and continue up. Turn left after the first jump up, go to the end of the walkway, turn left and jump up. Pull yourself up. Turn around and jump up yet again. Pull yourself up, turn around, go forward and jump up to the pole. Shimmy all the way to the right. Drop down. You are now on the upper terminal. Go forward and press Triangle to contact Lian. Come down on the left side of the subway train. You may see the viral bomb you tagged in the first mission ahead on the right. Around to the left (the first one you come to) and back in the direction you came from is the gas main - on the ledge across the tracks. Lian calls and tells you to shut it off. Do it. If you try to continue forward on this side of the tunnel you are blocked by flames. Go back to the side you were on. Go forward to the blocked passageway. You set your explosives, then you should get away for a second or two. After the explosion clears the tunnel, the CBDC come in. Follow them to the bomb and protect them. You get two bad guys from down the tunnel and one from behind you. After the bomb is dismantled, go on down the subway tunnel towards Rhoemer (check your map). Climb onto the first subway train car. Contact Lian again to find out your fellow agents are up against Girdeux, who is armed with a flamethrower. Continue forward and jump down. As you continue forward, a guy in flames runs out ahead of you just as you are attacked by another bad guy from behind. Quickly blast the guy in front of you and then turn and run at the guy behind you, firing all the way. Go back until you have to climb onto the next train car. A bad guy is on the roof. Back off just enough so that you can get him with a headshot, then climb up and continue. You get an FMV to complete the mission and save.
MISSION THREE: Main Subway Line
LOCATION: Washington DC: Main Subway Line
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM BENTON: Logan, intel indicates Rhoemer has fled the scene. Jenkins is meeting heavy resistance in the Washington Park area and DCPD reports fifteen officers down. We fear an agency leak has given his position away.
Mara Aramov's identity has been confirmed by Interpol. Do not let her escape. Caution: FEMA is using the east bound tracks to shuttle emergency personnel: do not use explosives of any kind in the tunnel or you will cause a derailment.
You start with an Ammo Box nearby with a Flak Jacket inside. Mara runs off down the subway tunnels. You must go after her, take out her rear guard AND avoid being run over by the subway trains. It is tricky. There is a guy with a Shotgun ahead almost right away. Blow him away with the M-16. To avoid being hit by a train, wait under cover (i.e. in the gaps created by the barriers and center walls in the middle in between the two sets of tracks but not beside the barriers or center walls) then take off behind a train that has just passed until you get to the next gap; repeat until you get to Aramov. As you become more familiar with the missions and learn the pattern of the trains and the locations of the bad guys then you can press your luck. On ahead are two more bad guys in a safe spot and a third on down the tunnel wearing a flak jacket (I think this is actually Aramov). Sneak and snipe the first two as Aramov runs on down the tunnel. On ahead are two more bad guys. Sneak and snipe them. Up ahead is Aramov. Just avoid being hit by the trains and advance forward carefully until you come to a safe spot where Aramov is hiding in a cubbyhole to the right. Head shot her for an FMV that ends the mission and then you can save.
MISSION FOUR: Washington Park
LOCATION: Washington DC: Washington Park
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM BENTON: Mission redirect: CBDC has requested direct intervention and assistance. Your new orders are to: locate viral bombs, plant homing beacons, wait for the arrival of CBDC, and provide covering fire. The bombs are set to detonate within the hour.
Terrorist resistance is heavy. Agency intel reports that Anton Girdeux is leading the park operation. Exercise caution. We have lost all communication from Jenkins' Team.
You are redirected to Washington Park. You must first locate four viral bombs and provide cover to CBDC agents as they disarm them. You only have about twenty minutes to find all four bombs so make this your primary focus. After the bombs are disarmed you can go back and pick up any stray items.
COMING SOON: MORE CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION FIVE: Freedom Memorial
LOCATION: Washington DC: Freedom Memorial
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
FORWARDED FROM AGENCY INTEL: Spysat has completed a detailed analysis of Girdeux's body armor: it is impervious to all conventional weapons. Our armor specialists are working on it, but your agent may have to improvise to find a weak point.
Our demolitions expert has noted that the use of any explosive device will trigger the viral bomb.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION SIX: Expo Center Reception
LOCATION: New York City: Expo Center Reception
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM MARKINSON: I've approved your request for access to the FBI files on Jonathan Phagan. I think your suspicions may be correct. The PHARCOM reception may be a cover for a meeting between Phagan and Rhoemer. Follow Phagan closely.
Obviously, you must not be seen or captured. You are authorized to eliminate any of Phagan's security, but use silenced weapons only. Once you've observed the meeting, use whatever means necessary to capture Phagan alive. Officially, the agency knows nothing about this.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION SEVEN: Expo Center Dinorama
LOCATION: New York City: Expo Center Dinorama
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM LIAN: Aramov is interrogating Phagan near the dinosaur exhibit. I'm losing the audio feeds, but she keeps saying something about Syphon Filter.
Both Aramov and Phagan have information we need ... you must stop Aramov from killing Phagan, but without killing her.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION EIGHT: Rhoemer's Base
LOCATION: Rozovka, Kazakhstan: Rhoemer's Base
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM MARKINSON: I know that this type of military operation is usually carried out by our agents within the Army Rangers, but for obvious reasons I am assigning it to you: find and inventory the base's missile arsenal, plant C4 charges at key locations, and eliminate Gabrek, the base CO.
You will also have to disable the base's anti-aircraft radar dish before Lian can initiate evac. Once your explosives are set, you will only have a limited amount of time for pickup.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION NINE: Base Bunker
LOCATION: Rozovka, Kazakhstan: Base Bunker
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM LIAN: Gabe, all the explosive charges you set are primed and ready for detonation. All you have to do now is catalog the SS-23s and get to the roof. As you check each one, I'll be transmitting the firing codes to HQ. So keep your channel open.
Entering the bunker triggered a silent alarm. The base is on alert now, so you're not going to be able to get back to the surface the way you came. Satellite photos indicate that there's a freight elevator on the roof, and it's likely connected to the bunker. That's your exit strategy.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION TEN: Base Tower
LOCATION: Rozovka, Kazakhstan: Base Tower
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM LIAN: Rhoemer's patrols have discovered my location and I'm coming under heavy fire. You better disable that radar soon or I won't be able to dust off. It's control panel should be somewhere at it's base.
I'm having Markinson's team stand by in case something happens. Hurry Gabe.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION ELEVEN: Base Escape
LOCATION: Rozovka, Kazakhstan: Base Escape
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM MARKINSON: The timers on the explosives you planted have been triggered. When they go off, it will leave a crater a mile wide. Our chopper will pick you up at the main gate, if you get here in time. Our window for escaping ground zero is short, so you had better hurry.
I have sent a team to Lian's rendezvous point. They found nothing but a burning pile of debris. Rhoemer will pay dearly, soon enough.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION TWELVE: Rhoemer's Stronghold
LOCATION: Uzhhorod, Ukraine: Rhoemer's Stronghold
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM MARKINSON: You have to find your way down to the catacombs, where Phagan is being held. Eliminate any PHARCOM scientists you find on the way: I want to shut down this entire operation.
Our labs have prepared an antigen which fights the effects of the virus. You must stop and administer it to any human test subjects you find. The agency needs these subjects alive, so do everything in your power to insure their safety.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION THIRTEEN: Stronghold Lower Level
LOCATION: Uzhhorod, Ukraine: Stronghold Lower Level
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM MARKINSON: The Kazakhstan incident is blowing up at the State Department, and the UN council is furious. The agency is shifting blame towards NATO command, of course. You are now at the mid-point of Rhoemer's stronghold. Interpol schematics suggest that the catacomb's entrance is probably in the Rose Chapel. Find your way there.
All mission objectives remain in force: eliminate PHARCOM's scientists, administer the antigen to test subjects, and find Phagan.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION FOURTEEN: Stronghold Catacombs
LOCATION: Uzhhorod, Ukraine: Stronghold Catacombs
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM MARKINSON: If these catacombs are like the ones we shut down beneath Paris, then Rhoemer is using a palm print activation system for security. You will have to follow one of Rhoemer's guards or lab workers to Phagan's cell, and wait for them to open the cell door. Remember, I need Phagan alive.
The agency has broken off contact with the State Department. Do not acknowledge any communications you might receive from other agency members. We are running out of time.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION FIFTEEN: PHARCOM Warehouses
LOCATION: Almaty, Kazakhstan: PHARCOM Warehouses
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM LIAN: Rhoemer's men are attacking Phagan's warehouse district in force. You have to get the silo's mainframe computers before they do. The agency's satellites are down, but Aramov assures me the silo can only be accessed via service elevators in warehouse 76. Erikson has the computer's access codes, so you'll need to find him first.
This warehouse was PHARCOM's clearing house for the bodies they were using to transport the virus. You have to plant beacons on any bodies you find so the agency can retrieve them for disposal at a level 5 containment facility.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION SIXTEEN: PHARCOM Elite Guards
LOCATION: Almaty, Kazakhstan: PHARCOM Elite Guards
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM LIAN: I still can't contact Markinson but I've hacked into the agency's European computer system. Bad news ... You,re probably going up against PHARCOM's elite guards, extremely well trained and armed. Even Rhoemer's men haven't broken through their perimeter yet.
Avoid any direct fire fights if you can. Warehouse 76 should be south of your present position. Where the hell is our agency back-up? NATO thinks a civil war is breaking out, but we're getting no support.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION SEVENTEEN: Warehouse 76
LOCATION: Almaty, Kazakhstan: Warehouse 76
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM LIAN: The entire warehouse district is going up in flames. You have to find the freight elevator before Warehouse 76 collapses around you. Aramov says it's located in the south east corner of the building. You don't have much time.
I've done a spot analysis of the serum that Markinson was having you administer to the test subjects in Rhoemer's stronghold. Gabe, it wasn't a vaccine. It was some form of concentrated potassium chloride, used in lethal injections. Markinson was having you kill those men.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION EIGHTEEN: Silo Access Tunnels
LOCATION: Almaty, Kazakhstan: Silo Access Tunnels
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM LIAN: According to Aramov, the silo's entrance is down there somewhere. She says to follow the main tunnel. It dead-ends at the silo elevator, but because of the fire above, some elevators may be off-line.
I'm picking up frantic radio traffic from NATO command, but I still can't contact anyone within the agency.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION NINTEEN: Tunnel Blackout
LOCATION: Almaty, Kazakhstan: Tunnel Blackout
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM LIAN: The entire power grid to the tunnels is now off-line so the laser fields should be gone. The silo has it's own power supply so you should still be able to access the mainframe computers and download PHARCOM's DNA sequencing data.
You should have a clear line to the silo from there, if you can find a way out of that power room. And Gabe, you're still outnumbered by Rhoemer's men. Maybe you can use the blackout to your advantage.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION TWENTY: Missile Silo
LOCATION: Almaty, Kazakhstan: Missile Silo
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM LIAN: You were right. The Devyatka's launch sequence has already begun and we have no way of stopping it. You'll have to find the missile's self-destruct codes somewhere on the fuselage itself and enter them into the main launch computer. We can then detonate it in the upper atmosphere.
The command computer mainframe room is also where you'll find the genetic codes for the Syphon Filter virus.
COMING SOON: CLASSIFIED MISSION DETAILS
MISSION TWENTY-ONE: Missile Silo - Final Confrontation with Rhoemer
LOCATION: Almaty, Kazakhstan: Missile Silo - Final Confrontation with Rhoemer
OPERATIVE: Gabe Logan
INCOMING FROM LIAN: Gabe you did it! The missile self-destructed harmlessly in the upper atmosphere. The chances of any trace virus particles reaching sea level are almost non-existent. Now there's just you and Rhoemer...
He's in there with you and he's armed with a M-79, his weapon of choice. What's worse, his dossier indicates he always wears an advanced polymer body armor that you can't penetrate with any conventional weapon, even your K3G4. You'll have to find something down there to beat him. Watch your back.
