Notes:
Bob Bidwell Experienced is a great card. If you are down on influence it lets you add it. If you are down on money it lets you add. Use Bob for money early in the game to help you be able to afford those expensive strikes.
The best strategy is to get the Lode out as early as you can, pump up your Kung Fu Dudes and use them to protect the lode as it builds up control points. On the other hand, you might put the lode in as bait and then suddenly start dropping the other control points.
This deck really is better at dueling that multiplayer. With so many out of town deeds it is easy to get spread thin. In some ways it is almost a flood deck. But, the key is the Rats ability to get to the strikes to defend them. Keep Squish Eye in your home so she can move fellow Rats to the site of the latest shootout. Get Buckets out there making Sharks and getting those values you need back into your discard pile.
Suggestions for alterations to the deck would be:
Remove the legal deck and replace it with a “snakebite,” “Jackalope Stampede” or a “Stoker Vs. Knicknevin.” These values are the key shooting elements of the deck. We’re looking for a straight flush and that possibility is weakened when the Kung Fu Powers are out.
Another option would be to substitute in some Harrowed powers for Chester Nero. I would suggest two copies “Speakin with the Dead” or one copy of “Speakin’” and one copy of “Mirror! Mirror!” Remember Chester can be targeted with two copies of each harrowed card. So if Master Chan is in your Boot Hill, Chester can “Speak with the dead” to gain a Kung Fu power before heading off to that great showdown at the lode. “What did you say, Chester? ... you Mantis Pinched Blackjack? CRUD!”
Another option would be to add a few more copies of the Kung Fu Powers AND the Gauntlet. Since Chester is a lower value than Master Chan, he can force Chester to run the Gauntlet and learn Kung Fu on his own. Then you have a harrowed Kung Fu. Of course, for every power you use from your deck, the worse your deck is going to shoot.
