Unlike Metal Sonic,Mecha Sonic has the ability to use the powers of the Master Emerald.In Sonic and Knuckles he used the power of the Master Emerald to try and defeat Knuckles in a brutal battle.Knuckles destroyed him,but he returned in the Sonic The Hedgehog Archie comic # 39 where Dr Robotnik turned Sonic into Mecha Sonic and it took Knuckles,and Bunnie to stop him and save Sonic from doom.
