Collision
Game by Dennis Speilman
Review by Solorfrog

Collision is more of an action game than an RPG, but since it was made using the RPG Maker 2000, it can be allowed onto the site. The very simple storyline is that an evil guy with evil powers (who is bored) has brought Mario, Sonic and Megaman to a planet to compete in fights which are NOT turn based like games using the program usually are. To attack, you press the action key when the enemy is right in front of you. If you get hit, you get 3HP taken from you and a little message that says -3HP appears, but doesn't stop the game play or hinder your view, which is handy, but there is no health bar, which would be useful. It's not easy to check your HP on the menu in the heat of battle! Another problem is that the enemies sometimes just keep walking towards you which makes for an easy victory, but didn't that happen in Legend of Zelda : A Link to the Past? Indeed it did, and there are no complaints about that. There are also several references to Dennis' Website's message board, with CoaP (Come out and Play) characters popping up in a pub. (Zin, CK, Cal, The Shadow Gunner and MechaSonic JSG) Overall, a pleasant little game that will keep you occupied for a long time.

Collision World
Game by Dennis Speilman
Review by Solorfrog

This game is the same as Collision, except that it is completely different. (If you get my meaning) This version is more of the RPG than the Action genre. Other than that, it is basically the same, but better! I recommend both.

Sonic Collision
Game by Dennis Speilman
Review by Solorfrog

This game is based on Collision, which is now discontinued to become this. Instead of the three characters in the previous games, it focuses only on Sonic. This game is a big improvement on the old Collision games, and boasts many cool features, like a Chao Garden (Work in progress) and an arcade where you can play various mini games, including my very own Jet Set Radio Collision! This game has it all: Humour, adventure, and various other little features, which just improve the game dramatically! This is still only a demo, which has a few bugs in, but hopefully on Sunday we'll have a de-bugged version.

Chimera Report
Game by DGUY
Review by Solorfrog

Where can I start with Chimera Report? Let's see..... A flashy, well animated intro, a custom menu AND battle system, a completely new character design and a very intelligent AI. This game has it all. From the minute I saw the intro, I just thought "This is going to be good." And it was, and still is.
The combat involves waiting until 3 little lights appear, then you can open the menu, and select an attack, although you have to be in range. If you use your weapon to many times, you have to wait for it to recharge, meaning you have to get in there, fists flying. It really is just one of the best games I've ever seen on RM2K. Just Download and play for yourself.

Mario Dancing
Game by ?
Review by Solorfrog

Mario Dancing has to be one of the most original (yet unoriginal) games ever produced. Original by the way of gameplay, unoriginal by the way of characters. Basically, you have to press the keys when they appear on the screen. Sounds easy, but it's not. When the timer gets closer to zero, you start panicking and then make a mistake. It truly is a test of you're nerve.
The story line is simple: Mario gets his moustache stolen and has to go find it. Simple and will have you laughing all the way.
Unfortunately, there is little variation to the gameplay, so you can expect the same thing over and over.

The Most Stupidest Game Ever!
Game by ?
Review by Solorfrog

This game is basically one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time! Period! This had me laughing all night, even AFTER I turned it off!
The game starts out with the main guy in prison after an "incident" involving a cat and a lawnmower. He then gets released and goes out into the world........ to find his house is being auctioned off! Later next day, he goes to beat up the priest who bought his house and take it back by force....... but the priest is a crazy Kung Foo guy and the main character is forced to go on an adventure to find others who are willing to help him get his house back.
The engine is the standard RM2K engine of turn based battles, but sometimes, there are special turn based battles that look a lot better.
Basically, this should be on the top of your download list, along with Chimera Report.

RM2K Survivor
Game by ?
Review by Solorfrog

This is more of a survival game (Hence the title) of an action / RPG game. Basically, This guy who lives by investing in the stock market has gone broke. His family has left him, and his house burnt down. Talk about bad luck. Anyway, now he has to beg on the street, and live in a cardboard box like a "bum".
There isn't much to do really in this game except "Stay alive" by earning enough money to buy food. That's it.
The engine is simple: There is an ATM machine engine, and a Cell Phone engine, but that's basically it.

Jet Set Radio Collision
By Solorfrog
Review by Eggfan

Well, what can I say. Jet Set Radio Collision was a lot better than I expected it to be. Previously it had lagged on my PC, but when playing it again for this review it moved a whole lot smoother. Firstly there isn't a lot to say about the graphics. It's standard RM2K 2D-sprites and even though the real JSR games are 3D, it doesn't detract from the game. I personally feel that this will be a better game than the 2D isometric version currently in development for the GBA. The choice of graffiti designs is varied, and they look superb.

The sound is typical JSR, and suits the game well. All though I did have to
keep it quiet (I played it in the local library on the public computers),
the experience was enhanced by the soundtrack, as all games should be.

The game play is superb and although I don't feel that it pushes RM2K very far, it is very, very, very effective. Jumping is as good as it can be, and tagging is far easier than the original JSR, although a JSRF style lock-on would have been a nice add-on it probably would require far to much coding to do, and the result wouldn't justify the amount of time spent on it. I only have one real problem with the tagging system, tagging moving objects is tricky. The Benten-cho level against the tank was hard and required multiple attempts for me to successfully complete it.
Grinding is also pleasurable, although you can only grind in one direction it doesn't really pose a problem. The police and missiles show a high enough level of intelligence to pose problems to you as enemies always should be expected to.

All in all, I feel Jet Set Radio Collision is an excellent game, well worth the
amount of time it takes to download. Though people with slower connections will undoubtedly frustrated with the download time, which is why I downloaded it using the libraries' high-speed connection. You'll come back to this game time and time again and though it may not be an instant classic, it has the hallmarks of a fun and highly well made game.

I give it an 8/10!!!
