Experiments

Chao raising takes a long time. A VERY long time. And some of us don't really have that much time available to try out any experiments dealing with Chao. This page will have a bunch of experiments listed, ones that you or I could try to see what we come up with. A lot of these experiments are just ideas, and I don't really know whether they'll work or not. But it would really be nice to see what new sorts of chao are still lurking deep inside the game...

Guardian/Blitz, Hero/Dark Chao 2
First off, do what you would do in order to get a Blitz or Guardian Chao. Mate a white/shiny white chao with a normal blue/yellow chao until the baby comes out looking like a normal blue/yellow chao (not white or shiny white). Take care of this chao with one specific type of character until you're absolutely sure it's about to metamorphosize. Here's the experimental part: Give the chao many of ONE type of chaos drive, taking care of it with Dark OR Hero characters to make it one specific dark/hero type chao (i.e. a Dark/Hero Running Type). What does it look like when it metamorphosizes into a Dark Running type? How about a Dark Chao that's one of the other three types, besides one that looks like the Blitz Chao?

Results: I've tried this experiment on a regular hero chao. It doesn't change. I tried giving the baby chao a lot of red drives with hero characters to get it to metamorphosize into a "fruity" chao, but it looked normal after giving it a lot of drives. So far, there doesn't seem to be a hero guardian chao, but I'm still experimenting.

I've found something new: The dark blitz chao look the best. I've recently aquired a dark NiGHTS chao (dark flying type) and the tips of its feet, hands, and jesters are white instead of purple. Bottom line: If you ever plan on metamorphosizing your blitz chao into something cool-looking, go through options for a dark chao, first. If you don't want a dark chao, the neutrals are your second best option. I don't think hero blitz chao look any different than regular ones.

Alternately Colored Chao
This experiment will mostly have a really high chance of working. Have you ever wanted to get, say, a red neutral flying type, a red hero running type, or a green dark power type? I think I have a hunch that this'll work... but I'm not completely, 100% sure that it will. Go ahead and read about it, anyway.

Obtain a regular, 3-year-old chao from any garden and place it in any garden. Meaning, raise a regular chao to the age of the 3 in any garden if you don't already have one. Buy any chao from the black market that's any color except white. Red, purple, and green will do in this case. Hatch the colored chao and raise it to the age of the 3. It doesn't matter what type you make it. Once both of the chao are 3 years or older and you have them in the same garden, buy lots of heart fruits. Feed a heart fruit to each of the two chao: The regular and colored one. When both have flowers around them, bring the regular chao over the colored one and let them mate. Hatch the egg. If the chao that comes out of the egg is not a regular chao, either keep it or say bye to it and mate the original two chao together again until they make a baby regular-chao. The chao should look blue and yellow, like any other regular chao would look. Now, here's the experimental part: Say you mated the regular chao with a red chao and the baby turned out normal-looking. Raise the baby and make it any other type BESIDES power... which is red (this way you can really see the difference). I suggest a hero swimming type or a neutral flying type. Wait until the chao metamorphosises. I predict that the metamorphosized chao will be that specific type, but it'll keep the dominant color the parent chao gave it (i.e. red). Wouldn't a red/green/yellow hero swimming type look cool?

Results: David, I thank you for these results. What happened was that a shiny pink chao was mated with a regular chao, and the baby came out looking normal and shiny, except with pink spots where its hands and feet and stuff would normally be yellow. Another chao was born like this, and David made it into a dark running type (to resemble Shadow). The Shadow chao this time was black with yellow and pinkish stripes. Freaky 0_o. But it turns out you can mate a lot of shiny and regular chao together to get all sorts of funky combinations.

Hyper Shadow Chao 2
I'll tell you ahead of time: I don't think this is going to work. Why? Because I've only gotten two or three baby jewel chao from mating either two jewel chao or a regular chao and a jewel chao together. The weird part is... the baby jewel chao always looked like the original jewel chao in color. I'm not sure if I would get a regular chao if I mate a jewel and regular chao together. But those of you who are willing to try this experiment out can read about it below.

First, obtain a regular chao that is at least 3 chao years old and a RED/SHINY RED chao that is at least 3 chao years old. Then, find a silver jewel chao that is at least 3 chao years old. Once you have all three of these chao, then you can go onto the next step (actually, you don't need the silver jewel chao until a little later, but you still should keep one handy). Mate the red/shiny red chao together with the regular chao until you get a regular baby chao. Raise the baby until it turns about 3 years old. This is the experimental part: Mate the 3-year-old regular chao (that was the baby of the regular and white chao) with the silver jewel chao until you get ANOTHER regular-looking chao. Make this chao a Dark Running type... and see what it looks like after metamorphosis.

Mate the white/shiny white chao together with the regular chao until you get a regular baby chao. Raise the baby until it turns about 3 years old. Total Total Tiger Chao
I've made a really cool discovery, and I found it while trying to experiment with different colored blitz chao. Anyway, I thought to myself, "Hey, if you get a blitz chao with white and blue parts by mating a white chao with a regular chao, why not try a hero blitz chao in the same way this time using a regular chao and a black chao?' Anyway, I got a regular normal type hero chao (I thought types might be relevant so I'll include them just in case) and mated it with a black running type dark chao, and instead of the baby being regular or black, it came out as a really wierd color, with a kind of really dark olive green color for the hands, feet etc. It looks cool, and I thought I had best tell you so it could be put up.

Results: Since I evolved it to be a normal hero, it looks black with blue hands, feet, behind and the things on top, and a yellow tummy. It looks pretty cool, and I named it Babadi. So if a similar one was to be evolved into a dark running type, perhaps it might look like Shadow.

Webmistress' Note: Try metamorphosizing the baby into a dark power type... it will probably still be Orange and Black, but this time the chao may be a bit more orange.

Pikachu Chao
Breed a yellow chao w/ a black chao, evolve into nuetral/flying/power chao... tada! But will yellow and black work?
