Following the Mengaulian Supremacy's  "acceptance" of Imperial rule in M36 the flagship of the Mengaulian fleet , an Overlord class BC the "Genghis Khan", was accepted into the Imperial fleet retaining it's original designation and name. The vessel is interesting in that it appears to share many features with the ships built on the Voss forgeworld. In particular prow and engine design is almost identical although the engine/hull separation found on these variant STC designs is not repeated in this case. The design may indicate a partial STC sharing design features with that of Voss forge world. The vessels imperial service has been long and distinguished. It now serves in the Gethsemane sub sector of the Golgotha spiral but in M38, along with many of the vessels in it's current battle group, it took part in the suppression of the  Chainian People's Republic during the violent and close fought "Rift Wars". In one notable action it destroyed the Chainian carrier "Hi Fu Chui" despite repeated attack craft strikes by the carrier against the "Genghis" itself

In recent history 343 M41 The "Genghis" and her squadron companion the "Silent hunter" met and destroyed an "intruder" in the limits of the spiral. These Rim raiders as the locals call them appear from time to time and cause damage way beyond their size or apparent capacity. In a fight between the two BC's and a raider squadron of 4 escorts and one cruiser both ships were severely damaged and the raiders totally vaporised. (a fact most disappointing to the inquisition as they have declared an urgent interest in acquiring knowledge of the raiders ships and designs.    During the repairs the "Genghis Khan" was modified by the fitting of a vengeance style bridge in place of the badly damaged original.

The model

This is a simple but very effective conversion. It involves a plastic imperial cruiser , an endeavour class light cruiser, the wings from a dauntless and a Vengeance bridge. The steps to take are as follows

1/ Take a plastic kit and cut it as shown in the accompanying photo. This will now be ready for assembly

2/ take an endeavour hull and separate the front and rear halves from the connecting web.

3/ Dremel the surface of the forward Endeavour section where it was connected to the connecting web flat and match to the front of the remaining plastic cruiser hull. Pin and glue in place.

4/  Dremel the Endeavour rear section flat on the surface where the connecting web was. Remove all upper deck detail and dremel flat. Pin and glue the resultant section on the rear of the cruiser below the decorative engine cover.

5/ Cut the Dauntless wing piece at the flanges that meet the Dauntless hull . Pin and glue the two pieces to either side of the plastic hull "bulge" . You will need to remove the last "buttress" in order to fit the wing without cutting it.

6/ Add a Vengeance bridge

7/ add the dorsal gun batteries

8/ remove the lance turrets from the prow and add detail to the prow to suit. In my case I added two "plastic domes to the underside and anti ordnance turrets to the top.

9/ Drill the prow with four extra 0.95 holes to reflect the 6 torpedo tubes

10/ Mount on stand and paint to own taste.
