Cleveland Williams TKO6 Bull Yingling
Elzear Rioux KO6 Pat Lange
Al Roberts W8 Hans Peter Drabes

In the main event Cleveland Williams scores a 6th round TKO of overmatched Bull Yingling. Yingling is down in the 6th and is very glassy eyed when referee Joe O'Neil rescues him.

Canadian slugger Elzear Rioux scores a 6th round knockout over hapless Pat Lange. Rioux drops Lange 6 times and batters him unmercifully.

Al Roberts takes a unanimous decision from Hans Peter Drabes in 8 rounds. Roberts dominates the proceedings with the exception of a great 5th round for Drabes. Roberts controls the fight with powerful hooks on the inside.

In the opener Hans Kalbfell wins a very close unanimous decision over Hermann Sjouwerman in 8. There's no knockdowns, but it's a pretty sweet slugfest, with Kalbfell having the bigger guns.

Miami Stadium - Miami, FL
Rosco Toles W8 Sam Campbell
Amos Johnson W8 Wendall Newton
Rudi Wagener W8 Lars Olov Norling
George Johnson TKO7 Santiago Lovell

Rosco Toles wins a unanimous decision over Sam Campbell in 8. Campbell is successful early, penetrating Toles' defense with right hands, but Toles makes the adjustment by round 3 stifling Campbell's offense. Campbell suffers a cut in the 5th, as Toles pops the jab, and Toles easily wins the decision.

Amos Johnson scores a unanimous decision over Wendall Newton in 8 hotly contested rounds. The fight is dead even until Newton runs out of gas in the 5th round. Johnson does enough work late to take the decision.

Rudi Wagener wins a unanimous decision over Lars Olaf Norling in 8 rounds. Norling wins the first 2 rounds with his excellent counterpunching, but Wagener starts landing his right hand, wobbling Norling in the 4th and 5th rounds. Wagener receives a gash over his eye in a clinch, but it's not a factor. Wagener drops Norling in the final round to lock up the unanimous decision.

George "Scrap Iron" Johnson scores a 7th round TKO on cuts over Argentine strongman Santiago Alberto Lovell. Johnson doesn't show up until the 5th round when he knocks Lovell down for an 8 count. Lovell trades with Johnson in the 7th, but a right cross from Johnson causes a severe cut that prompts the stoppage.

January 13,1900

Falkoner Center - Frederiksberg, Denmark
Cyril Whittaker W8 Constant Barrick
Tommy Martin W8 Louis Monaco
Francois Hendrickx W8 Denton Ruddock
Al Kubiak KOby1 Danny McAlinden

Cyril Whittaker wins a unanimous decision over Constant Barrick in 8. Whittaker solidly outworks Barrick all night, though Barrick has a good 5th round. Neither fighter is in trouble during the fight

Also, Tommy Martin wins a unanimous decision from Louis Monaco in 8 rounds. Martin completely dominates the proceedings, knocking Monaco down 4 times en route to a wide margin of victory.

Francois Hendrickx scores a unanimous decision over Denton Ruddock in 8 rounds. After a slow start, Hendrickx hammers Ruddock in round 5, landing a stiff left hook that makes Ruddock cover up. Ruddock's left eye balloons up and Hendrickx takes target practice on the half blind Ruddock for the rest of the fight.

In the opener, Danny McAlinden scores a 1st round knockout of Al Kubiak in a marvelously wild slugfest. 30 seconds into the fight, Kubiak stings McAlinden, who staggers into the ropes. Kubiak presses the attack, but McAlinden scores with a pair of crushing right hands. Kubiak wobbles and McAlinden follows with an uppercut from the floor that puts Kubiak out for the night.

January 8,1900

Exhibition Hall - Miami, FL
Tommy Farr W8 Jack Stanley
Phil Mercurio TKO2 Billy Aird
George LaRocco W8 Randy Mack
Art Weigand L8 Von Clay

Tommy Farr takes a unanimous decision in 8 from Jack Stanley. Farr fights a measured fight and Stanley hardly lands a punch all night.

Phil Mercurio destroys brave Billy Aird scoring a 2nd round TKO. Aird never goes down, but Mercurio lands virtually every punch he throws, leaving Aird helpless on the ropes.

George LaRocco scores a unanimous decision win over Randy Mack in another walkover. LaRocco thoroughly out boxes Mack, and Mack is never in it. LaRocco wins every round and floors Mack in the 6th with a straight right. A body shot floors him in the 7th, and LaRocco wins easily.

In the opener, Von Clay takes a unanimous decision in 8 rounds from Art Weigand. Clay stuns Weigand early in the 2nd, and opens up on him. Weigand comes back strongly, but by round 5 he's looking very tired. Clay starts to walk away with it, but Weigand goes toe to toe with Clay in the 8th bringing the crowd to their feet. It's just not enough as Clay gets the nod.

January 5,1900

Arena Coliseo - Acapulco, Mexico
Jimmy Young W10 Harold Dutra
Gerald Griffith KO7 Herb Narvo
Scott Frank W8 Harry Terrell
Giovanni DeLuca L8 Sunny Jim

Jimmy Young wins a lopsided unanimous decision over Harold Dutra in a 10 round shutout. Young easily leads Dutra around the ring while peppering him with a steady diet of light punches. Dutra is never in the fight and Harold doesn't land even 1 hard punch all night.

Gerald "Tuffy" Griffith lays a savage beating on Aussie Herb Narvo scoring a brutal 7th round knockout. Griffith lands the better shots early, until Narvo drops Griffith for a 4 count with a perfect uppercut, as the 2nd round ends. Then 10 seconds into round 3 Griffith drops Narvo with a right hand bomb. Narvo is up at 6, but Herb goes into a shell allowing Griffith to floor him 5 more times before the final kayo at 1:25 of the 7th round. Narvo is not expected to fight again until at least July.

Scott Frank wins a unanimous decision in 8 over Harry Terrell. The fight is pretty close, with Scott ahead by a point or two, when just before the final bell Terrell relaxes and Franks shoots in a right hand that drops Terrell for a flash knockdown that seals the deal.

In the opener, Canada's Sunny Jim wins a razor close split decision, in 8 slow paced rounds, over Giovanni DeLuca of Italy. The fight is a battle of cautious counterpunchers, and the lack of action draws jeers from those in attendance. Sadly, Sunny Jim will be the #1 contender for the vacant crown, unless a bigger upset occurs this month.

January 3,1900

Ryogoku Sumo Arena - Tokyo, Japan
Earnie Shavers KO4 Francis Goodwin
Reggie Meen TKO6 Jack Munroe
Mike Schreck KO7 Frankie Simms
Neil Clisby W8 Henry Higgins

In the first EBC Mark 3 main event, Earnie Shavers scores a predictable 4th round knockout of Francis Goodwin. Goodwin outboxes Shavers early, but when Shavers' right starts to land Goodwin crumbles.

Also Reggie Meen scores a 6th round TKO of Jack Munroe. Meen outboxes Munroe, countering his bombs well, but Munroe lands a few of his wild, tooth rattling shots. Meen accelerates late, knocking Munroe down four times before referee Frank Cappacino saves the swollen and bleeding Munroe late in the 6th.

Mike Schreck scores a 7th round knockout of overmatched Frankie Simms. Schreck dominates the wild shootout that sees Simms down 4 times including the knockout at 1:55 of round 7.

And in the opener Neil Clisby cruises to an 8 round unanimous decision over Brit Henry Higgins. Higgins took the bout on short notice, and looks flabby and slow of foot. Clisby cautiously outworks Higgins all night, and neither fighter is hurt. See you in Acapulco, Mexico on the 5th.
