Heavyweight Cleveland Williams (#8) wins a unanimous decision over unbelieveably tough Santiago Lovell (#12) over 12 rounds in a fight that sees Lovell on the canvas 7 times. Williams staggers Lovell straight away with a hard uppercut, and Cleve gives it to him until Lovell lands a desperate right hand that hurts Williams at the end of the 1st. Lovell comes to him, landing well to the body, until Williams lands an uppercut from the floor that drops Lovell. Santiago is up at 4, but he staggers to a knee again and the count goes to 8. Williams goes to work but can't finish him in the 30 seconds remaining in the round. In round 2 Williams catches him again to the body, flooring Lovell for a 5 count. Two more left hooks and Lovell is tottering to the ropes, eating a right on the way. Williams has his way some more in round 4, but Lovell does land a couple hard rights that hurt Williams. Cleve shakes it off to hammer Lovell again in the 5th, and Santiago is cut from the battering. "The Big Cat" drops Lovell again with a shot to the liver, and the Argentinian barely beats the count. Williams can't finish him, but Lovell looks as tired as a man can be after the round. Williams gets a warning for throwing Lovell to the canvas out of a clinch, but mostly he just punishes the clutching Lovell to the body. Lovell lands a big uppercut that almost drops Williams early in the 8th, and Lovell manages a really good flurry while Cleve regains his senses. Williams floors Lovell with a straight right hand in the 9th, and Lovell miraculously rises at 4. Williams continues to punish the Argentinian, but Lovell's saavy keeps him upright until the end of the 9th. Williams times a jab to land a right cross that drops Lovell for a 3 count this time. Another thudding left hook drops Lovell again but he rises at 7. Williams can't believe what he's seeing but he lands a left hook again that drops him for a 5 count. Then one more time for a flash knockdown right at the bell ending round 10. Lovell is battered and swollen and Williams is too tired to open up like he had been, and miraculously Lovell makes it to the final round. Williams tries his best but there's not enough in the tank to knockout the hard headed Argentinian, so Williams takes the unanimous decision, ending his 8 fight knockout streak.

Heavyweight Paul Cavalier (#5) scores a 9th round TKO over Reggie Meen (#15) in a good fight. Cavalier scores heavily early, and Meen finds himself in trouble a few times from Cavalier's strong right hands. Meen flurries in round 4, but Cavalier comes right back scoring with hooks to Reggie's head. Cavalier looks a bit punched out in the 5th and Meen rallies landing to the body mostly. Cavalier moves his head into an uppercut that cuts him badly near an eye. Paul opens up the rest of the round, trying to end it before the cut is a factor. The next 2 rounds Cavalier cautiously jabs while protecting the eye, but Angelo is too tired to really take advantage. Cavalier gets his moment when he lands a huge body shot that floors Reggie for a 7 count. Meen rises but Cavalier lands about 20 unanswered power punches, cutting Reggie badly, before the referee rescues the fading Englishman.

Middleweight James Toney (#5) wins by an 8th round TKO over Billy Angelo (#6) for cuts. Angelo gets Toney's attention with the first hard right hand, and James is uncharacteristically easy to hit early. Toney cuts Angelo on an eyebrow with a counter right hand in the 2nd. Toney lands a huge right hand on Angelo while he wipes blood away, and Toney has a big round pummeling the shaken Pennsylvanian. Between rounds the cut is closed, and Angelo slows the action by holding, until he lands a crisp right hand that has Toney almost touching a knee to the canvas. Angelo flurries in the last 40 seconds to steal the 3rd round. Angelo leaps on Toney again early in the 4th, and the pair trade power punches on the inside, which results in Angelo's cut reopening. Angelo lands 2 crushing right hands that wobble James again in the 5th. Toney recovers to start moving and countering well again in the 6th when Angelo tires from chasing James aroung the ring. Toney lands a huge double left hook in the 7th that staggers Billy, and Toney lands a couple straight right hands that reopen Angelo's cut again. The doctor pays a visit and stops the fight giving Toney the 8th round TKO.

Middleweight Gene Armstrong (#14) wins a unanimous decision over Jose Basora (#10) handily outboxing and confusing him over the full 8 rounds. Armstrong accurately jabs Basora apart in round 1, but Jose moves in past the jab to work the body in round 2. Basora misses a lot in the middle rounds, and Armstrong cleanly boxes circles around the lunging Puerto Rican slugger. Armstrong gets aggressive in the final round, backing Basora into a corner and lashing out with quick combinations, one of which opens a cut on Jose's eyebrow. Basora misses a few more amateurish right hands before the fight ends, and Armstrong picks up the impressive upset win.

Heavyweight Gerald "Tuffy" Griffiths (#11) scores a 7th round knockout of Larry Middleton (#7). Griffiths pins Middleton in a corner and roughs him up in the 1st. Middleton adjusts to smoothly retreat behind his jab through round 5. Middleton tires in the 5th and Griffiths again starts to lay into him. Griffiths floors Middleton for a flash knockdown with a viscious bodypunch in the 6th, but Middleton holds to survive. He doesn't really recover as Griffiths knocks him down 3 times in round 7, including the final 10 count.

Super middleweight Antwun Echols (#2) scores a brutal 5th round TKO of Mikkel Kessler (#1) in an early fight of the year candidate. Immediate fireworks as both men land heavy immediately and both men almost go down. Kessler swells badly very early and the stadium is rocking with the action. Echols stuns Kessler again in the 2nd with a straight right hand that Kessler never sees. Kessler is in bad trouble at the end of the 2nd with Echols pummeling him in the corner. Kessler stuns Echols with an uppercut early in the 3rd, but he recovers to land a huge uppercut that almost drops Kessler. Round 4 is an amazing round that sees each man staggering only to score heavily in return. Back and forth like cartoon cavemen with clubs. Kessler staggers Echols in the 5th, but Echols comes back with a couple strong right hands that prompt a visit from the doctor. The doc stops the contest over the objections of Kessler and his seconds for the bad swelling.

Middleweight Tommy Uren (#7) wins a majority decision over Jorge Amparo (#15) in 8 rounds. Amparo can't match Uren's hand-speed or power, so Tommy lays a licking on him early. Amparo stages a comeback in the middle rounds, but Uren does plenty of good work too. Amparo tires in the 6th, and Uren picks it up to seal the surprisingly close majority decision victory.

Heavyweight Danny McAlinden (#17) wins a bloody unanimous decision over Lars Olov Norling (#16) in 8 rounds. McAlinden stuns Norling with an uppercut straight away, and Lars eats some shots on the inside before rallying big the last 45 seconds bringing the crowd to it's feet. Norling cuts Danny early in round 2, and Danny eats a lot of shots while he wipes away the blood. McAlinden's cut is closed between rounds and Danny stuns the Swede with a straight right hand and then he opens up big in round 3. McAlinden snaps his head back with a straight right hand that opens a bad cut above Norling's eye. With both men pouring blood everywhere, McAlinden wins a torrid 6th round. Danny's cut is closed while Lars' bleeds the rest of the fight allowing McAlinden to dominate the action late and win the close but unanimous decision 78-75, 78-75 and 77-76.

Sebastian Rothman (#2) takes the vacant EBC cruiserweight championship, stopping Jean-Marc Mormeck (#1) on a cuts TKO in round 9 of their contest. Rothman staggers and cuts Mormeck with the first lead right, but he doesn't follow up well missing lots of punches. Mormeck comes back strong in the round but he's warned for a low blow as round 1 ends. Rothman lands big upstairs in the 2nd, and the doctor has a look at Mormeck's damaged eye. Mormeck's corner gets it closed and the combatants trade power punches at a frantic rate in the 3rd. The intense action continues in the 4th, when Rothman reopens the Frenchman's cut eye, triggering a savage exchange that staggers both men. Rothman continues to outwork Mormeck hurting him to the body in round 5. Round 6 is a round-of-the-year candidate, with both men trading again, and Mormeck's cut eye swells alarmingly. Rothman hurts Mormeck early in the 7th, but he roars back putting Rothman on the run after a crushing uppercut. Mormeck continues to desperately pound Rothman who sports a swollen eye himself after round 8. Rothman lands a left hook that wobbles Mormeck and reopens his cut eye early in round 9. Rothman lands a couple more hard shots before the doctor has a look and stops the fight. Rothman wins the title with a 9th round TKO.

In a classic real-life matchup, middleweight Harry Greb (#1) pounds out a unanimous decision over game Tiger Flowers (#4) in 12 rounds. Flowers scores well in the 1st, Greb starts throwing swarms of punches that sting the green Flowers. Greb works on the inside in round 3, but he is warned twice for holding and a low blow. Flowers retaliates with a nasty head butt in round 5 that costs him a point. Greb staggers Tiger with an uppercut early in the 6th. Flowers takes a pounding upstairs, swelling on an eye, so Tiger throws south of Greb's border again staggering him as the round ends. Greb is less mobile after the foul and Flowers takes advantage landing some nice shots from the outside. Flowers' eye worsens and Greb plants his feet to throw power shots in round 9, landing heavily on the half blind Georgian. Even though the scoring is close, Flowers is gassed in the 10th, and Greb lands at will late. Greb drops Flowers for a 9 count late in the 11th, and Flowers barely survives. Greb easily wins the final round and barely wins the unanimous decision 114-111, 115-110 and 113-112.

Middleweight Freddie Apostoli wins a unanimous decision over Enzo Fiermonte in 10 rounds. Despite coming in looking flabby, Apostoli stings Fiermonte in the very first round, and pounds him producing a flash knockdown as the round ends. Fiermonte comes back strong in the 2nd with a couple nice shots to the body. Apostoli wobbles Fiermonte again in round 3, and Fiermonte soaks up hard punches while lying on the ropes. Apostoli looks like he's punched out and Fiermonte takes advantage, solidly winning the next couple rounds. Apostoli hurts the Italian again with an uppercut early in round 6, so he empties the guns again but still can't put the stubborn Fiermonte down again. The action slows quite a bit late, with Apostoli landing the harder punches between the clinches. Apostoli takes the close unanimous decision 96-94, 97-94 and 96-95.

In a very tepid matchup, cruiserweight Marvin Camel (#4) wins a unanimous decision over Dorcey Gaymon (#5) in 10 rounds. There is very little action early, with Camel keeping the action slow and carefully jabbing. There isn't a hard punch thrown until Gaymon rocks Camel with an uppercut in round 5. Camel catches Gaymon with a hard right hand lead that breaks Dorcey's nose in round 7. Gaymon is in tremendous pain, and plays strictly defense the rest of the fight, allowing Camel to take the unanimous decision.

Heavyweight Tommy Martin wins his rematch with Tom "Bearcat" McMahon when McMahon is disqualified for a flagrant low blow in round 6. McMahon is very aggressive in the 1st, but Martin stings him with a big combination late in the round. McMahon shakes it off and the pair trade at ring center with McMahon out-speeding Martin. Tommy stuns McMahon with a hard right hand, and he tees off in the 3rd and 4th. The action slows in round 5 with McMahon clinching a lot. Martin rattles McMahon again with a right hand, so McMahon throws a blatant low blow, dropping Martin and causing a disqualification.

Top light heavyweight contender Prince Charles Williams (#1) wins a close split decision victory over hard-luck Henry Maske (#6) in 10 rounds. Williams forces the action early, but Maske's excellent counterpunching and footwork win him a couple close rounds. Maske gets a little sloppy in the 6th, and Williams hurts him with some winging shots. Williams is convincingly winning round 7 when referee Barry Denkin takes a point away for a low blow from Williams. Just when the action slows a bit, both men have an amazing flurry to close out round 8. The final 2 rounds are slower, and the close split decision goes to Williams.

Light heavyweight David Telesco (#4) makes quick work of Mosese Sorovi (#10), knocking him out in 2 rounds. Telesco hurts Sorovi right away, and he drops him 3 times in round 2 with the last being for the count.

Heavyweight Hans Kalbfell (#18) scores a 5th round knockout of Rudi Wagener (#21) in an awesome battle of German sluggers. Kalbfell comes out smokin' in the 1st, staggering Wagener with a combination and raising a swelling. Wagener comes close to dropping Kalbfell with a pair of uppercuts in the 2nd. Kalbfell comes back to win the 3rd with a savage exchange at ring center. Wagener has Kalbfell on the run in the 4th, clubbing him with about 4 flush right hands. Kalbfell again comes back to floor Wagener with a left hook early in the 5th. Wagener is up at 3 but Kalbfell lands a big right cross that puts Wagener down and out at 1:39 of the 5th.
