Tommy Farr (#1) wins a split decision in 15 rounds over Jimmy Young (Chmp) to win the EBC heavyweight championship. The first 2 rounds are slow and too close to call, but both men get offensive minded in the 3rd. Young lands snapping jabs, but Farr splits Jimmy's lip with a left hook. Farr forces Young on the defensive in round 5, pinning him on the ropes and scoring well upstairs. Round 6 is a good round, with both fighters scoring well and Young's cut reopens late in the round prompting a visit from the doctor. The cut is closed, and Young slickly outjabs the equally masterful Welshman in the 7th. Young seems to tire in the 8th and Farr gets off first with some quick and solid punches. Round 9 sees some good flurries between the clutches, and Young racks up a couple of warnings for leaning on Farr's neck. Farr wins several consecutive rounds from the tired champion, and Young knows he must do something big after losing the 11th. Young tries, but Farr's tight defense keeps the action minimal late. In round 14 Young stuns Farr with a nice right hand and he tears into him with combinations upstairs. Farr takes the final round with the jab and some nice lateral movement opening a cut on Young's eye, and Tommy Farr takes the split decision 144-143, 143-144 and 145-141 to become the 3rd EBC heavyweight champion. Former EBC heavyweight boss Zora Folley (#9) wins a split decision over George LaRocco (#14) in 12 rounds. LaRocco lands a lead right, then Folley times the next one to deliver a crushing left hook counter that drops George for a 7 count. Folley lands a few shots in the follow up but LaRocco isn't really hurt. George slows the action for a couple rounds, winning them with an attack on the inside. Folley flurries in the 7th, but LaRocco lands a flush right hand that slows Folley way down early in the 8th. LaRocco fades in the 9th, so Folley fires from the outside while LaRocco now can't cut off the ring on him. Folley knocks George down again late in the 10th with a counter left hook. LaRocco is up at 4 but looks very weary. LaRocco stuns Folley in the 12th, but the split decision goes to Zora 114-113, 114-112 and 112-114. Top super middleweight contender Antwun Echols (#1) has a tough time winning a unanimous decision from hard-headed Librado Andrade (#3) in 10 rounds. Andrade looks soft around the middle coming into the ring, and Echols just tears into him in the 1st. Andrade is stunned from right hands and he barely throws back at all. Echols stuns Andrade early in the 2nd, but this time Andrade plants his feet and the pair trade crushing power shots the rest of the round. Echols tees off in the 3rd, and it's amazing that Andrade stays upright. Andrade comes back to stagger Echols in the 4th, and Echols almost goes down twice from hard uppercuts. Andrade is floored twice in the 5th, though he doesn't look hurt and Echols gets tired from winging right hands. Andrade comes back to stun Echols again with a right cross, and Echols swells on an eye in round 6. Andrade continues to score big on the inside in round 7, and Echols looks tired suddenly. Echol's eye worsens so he gets very aggressive in the 8th, stunning Andrade with an uppercut. In round 9 both fighters hold, and Andrade takes the final round moving forward with a body attack the final scoring is a unanimous decision for Echols, 95-93,95-93 and 96-92. Cruiserweights Christophe Girard (#4) and Jose Luis Rivera (#5) fight to an 8 round draw. The early action is even with Rivera pursuing while Girard tries to time the jab for counterpunching. Rivera opens a cut on Girard's eye with a left hook in the 6th. Girard gets aggressive and strings together bunches of combinations to close out the 6th. Rivera reopens the cut in the 7th, and this time follows up with a stunning uppercut. Girard takes the final round despite the freely bleeding cut near an eye, but the scoring curiously is a majority draw.

Top middleweight contender Harry Greb (#1) scores a cuts TKO in 10 rounds over Young Stuhley (#4) in a surprising mismatch. Greb completely outclasses Stuhley from the outset. After several rounds of Greb's hyper-active assault Stuhley is cut and tired. Greb staggers him in the 7th with a left hook, but Stuhley comes back bravely going to Greb's body. The doctor visits to check Stuhley's cut in the 8th, and Greb almost floors him with a right hand late in the round. Stuhley lands a nice kidney shot for which he is warned, and then he rallies nicely in the 9th. Greb goes to work on Stuhley's cut in the 10th, and after the flow of blood starts again, the doctor revisits to call the fight. Light heavyweight contender Prince Charles Williams (#1) wins a unanimous decision over Jean Kreitz (#8) in 12 bruising rounds. Williams lands a couple of big hooks that have Kreitz in bad trouble before a minute has expired. Kreitz staggers to the ropes and Charles goes to work. Kreitz punches back in the final 15 seconds but mostly he catches. Williams is dominating the 3rd when Kreitz lands a straight right that almost takes Williams' head off. Kreitz leaps on Charles and hammers the body the remainder of round 3 though Kreitz's eye balloons up from the previous battering. Williams hurts Kreitz in the 4th, landing a 4 punch combination that finishes with a right cross that floors Kreitz for a 7 count. Williams continues to control the action with a snapping jab and right hands through the middle rounds. By round 7 Kreitz's eye is an ugly mess and Williams lands every right hand he throws. Williams patiently telegraphs bombs from the outside while Kreitz can't find a target at all late. Kreitz rallies in the 11th, but Williams lands a clean right hand that drops Kreitz for a 7 count in the final round. Williams fires haymakers the final minute but Kreitz finishes on his feet. Williams takes the one-sided decision. Middleweights Freddie Apostoli (#5) and Tommy Freeman (#8) fight to a 10 round draw. Apostoli is warned for a low blow 10 seconds in, so he furiously goes upstairs with right hands until Freeman launches back, stunning Apostoli for most of the 1st. Freddie recovers by the 3rd to land some quick combinations while coming forward. The 4th round features a furious exchange with Freeman on the ropes, that causes a swollen eye on Aposotoli. Freddie is winning the 5th when Freeman flurries in the last 40 seconds to steal the round and bring the crowd to it's feet. Apostoli is warned for a low blow, and then he flurries forcing Freeman to cover up in the 7th. Apostoli stays busy late but Freeman rallies in the final round. The final result is a draw 98-92, 93-97 and 95-95. Suspect scoring in this one. Heavyweight Lawrence Carter (#21) scores a 3rd round TKO over Al Kubiak (#18). Kubiak comes in looking badly out of shape, and Carter scores repeatedly early. Kubiak catches Lawrence with a good uppercut that backs him off in the 2nd. Carter comes back with 3 consecutive overhand rights, and then an uppercut that drops Kubiak for a 9 count with a minute left in round 3. Kubiak rises, barely, but Carter lays into him with both hands until referee Steve Smoger calls it a night for the unprepared Kubiak.

EBC light heavyweight champion Joe Knight (Chmp) scores an 11th round TKO over Lloyd Marshall (#3) when Lloyd's eye becomes too battered to continue. Knight's timing and footwork are impeccable early and Marshall starts to puff up on an eye as early as round 2, after a double left hook. Knight continues to target the ever more swelling eye while Marshall misses and clutches mostly. In round 4 Marshall lands a crippling body punch that has Knight staggering to the ropes. Marshall empties the guns but Knight survives the fusilade which produces a 10-8 round. Knight recovers and sharpshoots the eye from the outside in round 5, and Marshall's eye almost closes. Marshall hurts Joe early in the 7th with an uppercut, but Knight fires back with hard right hands that stagger Marshall and again worsen the completely closed eye in a solid candidate for round of the year. Marshall stays very aggressive in the 8th, and Knight absorbs a licking in that round. Knight continues to tee off in the 9th, and Marshall looks faded and puffy. Knight doesn't let up in the 10th, and the doctor makes 2 visits to check up on Marshall's ugly and raw eye. Marshall suddenly rallies in round 11, but the doctor calls it after another visit. Knight retains the title and defeats Marshall again in their rematch. Heavyweight Sinan Samil Sam (#4) scores a 4th round knockout of Neil Clisby (#23). Clisby slickly keeps Sam off balance with his jab early, but Sam has a great 3rd round punishing Clisby to the body. Clisby lands a left hook that cuts Sam on an eyelid in round 4, so Sam urgently starts to wing haymakers. The burly Turk lands about 4 flush right hands before he lands a big uppercut that puts Clisby to sleep for the night. Light heavyweight Tommy Dragon (#5) wins a decision over David Telesco (#4) when Telesco is disqualified in the 8th round of a mismatch that Telesco was dominating. Telesco hammers Dragon into a corner and connects with almost everything he throws in round 1. Dragon tightens up his defense in round 2 but Telesco still lands enough to stagger him and get his eye puffy. Again in round 3 Dragon looks pretty good until the last 20 seconds when Telesco unloads a big shot. Telesco's flush right hands almost close the eye by round 5, and Telesco can hardly miss on the half blind New Englander. Telesco loses a point for a low blow in the 5th, but he still is blowing out the fading Dragon. Telesco finally drops Tommy with a body shot in the 7th, but Dragon rises at 7 game as ever. Dragon hits him low in the 8th, and suddenly furious Telesco hits on a break costing him a point and then hurls Dragon to the ground while holding him behind the head. Referee Steve Smoger rules the foul to be blatant and Telesco is disqualified in the 8th. Super middleweight Steve Little (#4) wins a unanimous decision over Fidel Castro Smith (#5) in 10 rounds. Castro overachieves early, but Little's superior boxing skills are very evident by round 4. Jabbing out of a crouch, Little is a very tough target for the wild swinging Brit through the middle rounds. Smith rallies in the 8th when Little becomes less mobil from fatigue, catching him with a staggering uppercut. Little brings it home in the final round, landing heavily from the outside.

Heavyweight Rosco Toles (#8) is robbed when his fight with Mike Schreck (#5) is called a draw over 12 rounds. Schreck tries for his usual early blitz, but Toles easily evades his rushes and counters well. Schreck catches him with a big uppercut in the 2nd, but Toles evades most of the follow up. Toles recovers to work behind crisp jabs, taking round 3. Early in round 5 Schreck staggers him again with a roundhouse right, and Schreck lands well until the end of the round. Toles ties him up and uses his handspeed to keep Scheck off balance in the 6th. Toles lands a hard right cross that breaks Schreck's jaw in the 7th and it really hampers Schreck's offense as he carefully guards his swollen mug. Schreck lands a right hand that almost floors Toles in the 8th, but Toles covers up and holds to escape again. It's a last gasp as Toles easily controls the action down the stretch, while Schreck fights the pain. Unbelievably the scoring is a draw 115-114, 114-115 and 115-115. Toles gets his second consecutive draw. Cruiserweight Carlos Cruzat (#3) wins a very close unanimous decision over Marvin Camel (#2) in 12. Cruzat lands some very solid shots in round 3, but Camel cuts him on an eye with a jab during the round. Round 5 is a beauty with hard counter left hooks being traded of the other's jab wobbling both fighters. There are several indifferent rounds through the middle of the fight. Cruzat staggers Camel with a right hand in the 9th, and then he lands a couple of borderline low blows to close out the round. Camel lands a couple of crushing right hands that put Cruzat on the defensive in the 10th. Cruzat misses everything he throws in the 11th, and Camel counters him to pieces reopening Cruzat's cut. Cruzat dominates the final frame though to cement the unanimous decision 116-114, 116-114 and 117-114. Middleweight James Toney (#2) wins a unanimous decision over Kirino Garcia (#10) in 10 rounds. Toney sets up flush right hands with the jab early, and Garcia hardly lays a glove on him early. Toney continues to head hunt very successfully in round 4, but Garcia has Toney in trouble briefly at the end of the round. Garcia looks tired in the 5th, but Toney also slows up after the rocky 4th round. The 7th is another slow round until Garcia momentarily turns his head toward his corner with his trainer screaming at him. Toney uses the distraction to land a flush right hand that floors Garcia for a 7 count. Toney cautiously works behind the jab late, until he lands an uppercut inside that produces a flash knockdown of Garcia as round 9 ends. Garcia mixes it up pretty good in the final round, but Toney takes the unanimous decision. If Toney wins his next fight, he will almost certainly face Greb for the vacant EBC middleweight championship. Heavyweight George Stirling (#16) wins a unanimous decision over Scott Frank (#17) in 10 rounds. Stirling comes out warm, moving and boxing well while Frank takes a couple rounds to break a sweat. Stirling's accurate jabs and hard crosses raise a swelling in round 2, and Frank sees the fight slipping away. Frank finally gets aggressive in round 3, but Stirling responds in kind resulting in a great round of boxing. The crowd pleasing fight continues to be a shootout through the middle rounds, with the punches landed being nearly even. With the furious pace, Frank wilts after the 6th and Stirling keeps his hands busier down the stretch to take the upset unanimous decision.
